I would also say that Sunny is kind of that intricate vocalist. She ended up with a lot more vocals that people realize. (Sadly it wasn't until about a year ago that we found out that she doesn't like the way SM made her sing - they wanted her to give what she called "MSG" to their songs - but she didn't sing naturally in her style.)
sorry, taeyeon and jessica are main vocal then seohyun, tiffany, and sunny are lead vocal but still can sing high notes in every parts of their song.

SNSD/Girls' Generation are officially known as the Nation Girl Group of S.Korea, but they're also unofficially known as "The Textbook of Girl Group." SNSD has done almost all the concepts so that newer groups can get inspiration and adjust it according to their own. They also popularize a large 9 member group (when the usual members are only around 3-5) and all the SNSD members are popular (at least during the 2nd and 3rd gen).
SNSD's contribution to K-pop are more than YT views, album sales, and music show awards. A lot of successful sone (SNSD fans) became kpop idols themselves like Dami (from Dreamcatcher), Chaeryeong (from Itzy), Karina (from Aespa), and Moonbyul (from Mamamoo) to name a few...
If you like vocals then you'll really enjoy SNSD since individually they're good (I mean 👑King Taeyeon is there😎), but the groups vocal harmony is even better especially when it comes to ballad and live concert performance.
Personally I became a SNSD fan because of their funny-unfiltered-chaotic personalities. I consider them as comediennes doing idol stuff 😅.

Snsd is known as the textbook for girl groups. There's a saying you cant debut if you don't know snsd song "into the new world".( they were #1 artist when the Industry was more into bgs). Every k-company wanted their own snsd ( yg, jyp both said it in an interview). They were hella popular and whenever SM would release their cb dates every other groups would postpone their cb dates🤭 it was iconic. They also got the title as "nation's gg"
Only SNSD who can make all girls group to reschedule to not be the same cause all group can not have any spot every time they make a comeback 😂

Not the visual position, that is much older with idols like Eugene, Eric, Kangta, Yochum, etc. Yoona is credited as being the first center. SM doesn´t acknowledge the position of visual among their groups but Yoona has been called the center by the members and is the member with the most time being in the center during title tracks performances which led to the general public to name her the center and she is the first Korean idol to have that title/position, but that role was first popularized by japanese idol groups that often had designated centers that were in the center the most, were the most popular, sang the most lines and were the leaders of the groups at least that's how it started. Think of groups like AKB48, Morning Muzume, etc.

@@_exsencefx I can't find any reference or mention of Wonder Girls even having a center. Furthermore just by looking at their performances and group pictures, I can't find any clue of who could be the center and if they had one it would only be a center by name. During performances the ones with the most center position were usually Yeeun and Sunye. Sohee had a lot of center time during "like money" and "nobody", but nothing to be of noticed plus the group photos and ending shots in performances are evenly distributed. Lastly, Yoona's center position was due to her "hegemonic" beauty and being recognized by the general public from the few dramas and the many CFs so when they saw a picture of SNSD or a performance they were familiar with someone or they were drawn to the group by noticing her first. The only clear centers of second gen, and the only idols who do all that were Yoona, Suzy, and Seolhyun, Yoona being the first of them to debut

There usually have more than 2 main vocalist in one group
So it's not surprising that they always sound good 😂😂
Their dance line ( hyoyeon, yuri, sooyoung and yoona) is considered the best dance line in 2nd gen. Also Hyoyeon is considered as the best female dancer in 2nd gen. You should definitely check out her dance performance ( she participated in various dance shows and mainly excel in hiphop but could also do ballroom, popping, botting/dubstep, locking, dancehall, tango....) If I'm not wrong no female idol dancer in the industry can do better popping than her 😌

I'll bet Seulgi (leading edge 3rd gen) would give Hyo a real run for her money in popping/locking. If Victoria (f(x)'s leader and main dancer) was still around, she probably could as well. Hyo is, in turn, likely one of the few other SM dancers who could pull off the tutting choreo from Seulgi & Irene's "Naughty"

Just want to let you know that at SM their artists tend to take songs from each other . Like for example Artificial love , a b-side track of EXO was originally for NCT, Welcome to my World by aespa was originally NAEVIS debut song etc . As like what you said that catch me if you can reminded you so much of EXO’s style .

I started listening to Kpop in 2009 and SNSD are my all-time favs. To see Kpop grow as much as it has since then warms my heart but to hear "back in the day" referring to SNSD hurts my SOUL. 🤣

The one you thought sounds like Winter is Tiffany! I love them both and never made that connection myself but you were consistent with it haha. I love both of their vocals though.
I think Tiffany has a bit of a deeper and raspier tone but they both do go on some similar runs.
If anything girls generation is the one that trend a concept or make concept. They rarely repeat style/concepf for comeback. Probably the most versatile girl group.

They were not the first huge kpop girl group, they were huge in terms of kpop girl groups but they were not the first. The first is S.E.S there from the same company but debut years before them SNSD is like maybe the 7th or 8th.
Snsd, wonder girls and Kara are the legendary girl groups from 2007, WonSoKa.
Snsd is a legendary group because they set up what the next generation could achieve for themselves, they are literally the base of what Twice is tbh and every girl group that debut after 2010.

I love GIRLS' GENERATION/SNSD 💗 They're the Nation Girl Group of South Korea. They fought so many boy groups back then. They represent girl power through their group name.
Girls' Generation are still active for 16 years now and one of the iconic group in kpop. They debuted in 2007 consist of 9 girls in the group. They're now 8 members because the other member (jessica) departed in 2014. Let's not talk about how she left the group (controversial topic and it's all based rumors).
💗So the girls are:
• KIM TAEYEON (The kid leader of the group) One of the best vocalist/soloist in kpop rn. Introvert but goofy. She's known as Paper human.
• JUNG JESSICA (Ice princess) She's blunt but kind hearted. She sleep a lot! She has dolphin scream. She has fashion brand called Blanc & Eclare.
• SUNNY (Lee Soonkyu) The retired Aegyo Queen. She's also SM's founder(Lee SooMan) niece. She has the sweetest voice in the grp and the sexiest (self claimed).
• TIFFANY (Stephanie Young Hwang/ Hwang Miyoung) The American GF/the english speaker of the group/She's a musical actress/Tv actress, Director and Composer. You will recognized her because of her EYESMILE. She and Sica are the sassy one.
• KIM HYOYEON (DJ HYO) She's the dancing queen and also the funniest one in the grp. She has different hair color but mostly she's blonde.
• KWON YURI (The dinosaur one) She loves to cook and She's an Actress. She's next to hyoyeon for being funny. She forgot lyrics easily and choreos as well.
• CHOI SOOYOUNG (Hair flip is one of her charm) The most savage and brutal. The tallest in the grp. She eats a lot (the shikshin) and She's an Actress too.
• IM YOONA (The visual and center of the group) She teased her unnies a lot by her Aegyo. The prankster. She's the first actress in the grp. The original visual(she's the one who invented that position in kpop.)
• SEOHYUN (SEO JU-HYUN) Seobaby/the legendary maknae who knows how to play musical instrument. She's very intelligent. She adored her members so much (since she's the only child) She's an Actress. She's the quietest but the most honest.
I'm sure you gonna love them especially their characters. They're full of charms and chaos but they love us (S♡NES) so much! 😊
