So I got to catch up with Jay Buchanan from Rival Sons chatting about their forthcoming album 'Lightbringer' which is out 20th October, following on from 'Darkfighter' which was out earlier this year, speaking about the album itself and it's tonality, the songs they've released so far 'Sweet Life' and 'Mercy', their expansive sound across these two records, their forthcoming UK tour and plans for the future !

Love how Jay is both one of the quintessential vocalist/songwriters of this age, and at the same time, just a normal dude and family man FaceTiming an interview from the car with his kid’s safety seat in the back. That’s somehow super badass to me. That he’s not worried about portraying or maintaining some kind of “rock star” persona. Rival Sons are the best!!🤘

I, for one, have no trouble whatsoever "digesting" anything Rival Sons puts out. If anything, some of the newer tracks require multiple listens before they truly take root. But man, when they take root...this is certainly some of their best stuff, which SHOULD be expected. Jay's lyrics are phenomenal, and the delivery is stunning per usual.
