Mr. Irkutt Dobrich, you are doing a great service for these legends and also for the sport of table tennis. Your contributions are very well appreciated. THANK YOU VERY MUCH.
Wang liqin is ABSOLUTELY ONE OF THE BEST OF TABLE TENNIS PLAYERS IN THE WORLD. His forehand is the most powerful, "Da li", we will remember you for ever.... Thanks for uploading this great video.
Thank you very much for the great tribute to one of the very best who have ever played the sport, Wang Liqin. He has brought so much excitement, ingenious play, the very top class table tennis to millions of fans around the globe for over a decade. What a pity that the era of Wang Liqin and Ma Lin has come to the end! He and Ma Lin will be dearly missed. Wish them the very best in their new roles.
Still one of the best table tennis compilation videos on UA-cam. Music, Dramatic scenes, cut and even quality of those old videos are much better than most of the WTT videos. It's a shame for WTT... FYI: Timo Boll (last opponent of the last clip is stilla active and in the Top 30 of the world, he even won an international WTT competition in 2024 with world top players)
I like the fact that you put points he lost. By doing so, you give weight to the oponent and you tell a story instead of just concatenating points. Great vid (:
Exactly. That's great you see my point here. The opponents of the main hero in such videos are also extremely skillful and talented and it would not be correct to display that they lose in every single rally. They sacrifice most of their free time practicing tt with the hope to achieve the heights of this great game and they deserve much respect. Thank you for watching.
This is the best tribute i've ever seen on UA-cam, thanks for making and sharing it with us. I will deeply miss 3 of my favourite players. At least Ma Lin is apparently still playing in the Super League next season.
Wang is coaching now, but not long ago he still competed amazingly in China's national game (which many say is more competitive than Olympics games) where in the finals he lost 3-4 to Fan Zhendong. He is still in great shape, and the commentator said that Wang was so disciplined that he still sleeps from 10 to 6 and keeps a healthy diet and trains daily.
For me, Wang Liqin is the most influential player in TT history!!! His powerful forehand, strong work ethic and especially the spirit of "Never Give Up" will keep contributing. Hope his junior Xu Xin will inherited the legend!! Xu Xin's excellent forehand, footwork, and natural confidence attract me a lot, he's also a funny young boy :) Even now Ma Long and Zhang Jike are more famous, I still think that the Chinese coaches should give him an opportunity to fight in the 2016 Olympic. Just let him blow us away ^皿^
@@dejanpanic2103 thank you. the 1st - John OO Fleming & The Digital Blonde OO DB - Oxygene original mix (Originally Jean Michelle Jarre) , the 2nd one- The XX Intro
My favorite old TT player :) Most best TT players has a decent height, however, for tall guys like WLQ he has showed the advantage of his long hand reach-out and his talented flexible knee down technique to handle all balls angles :)
Wish there could be more tributes like that. Well-selected music that fits the plot, nice pick of key career milestones, and impartial scenes of play showing great shots from both sides. If possible, I'd love to see a tribute on Wang Hao.
5:45 For a japanese penholder player, he has an astonishing backhand... 12:31 Oh Sang Eun's backhand isn't bad either... 15:55 Look at that insane footwork by Ryu...
agreed, current Chinese top players are all perfect machines and undoubtedly the best players, but ZJK only has the genius factor that Wang had and that can be (and was) decisive over the power of his Chinese opponents
I love him as a (TT) player and off the table too. Too bad don't get to see him anymore. My next favorite is the Japanese Team including Mima Ito and possibly Miu Hirano
I think Ma Lin meant to miss that last point in 2007 finals. He wasn't really trying to hit it. Probably tells WLQ that he came back for a good cause/reason to beat him. Respected players of China.
I just re-watched your video. Absolutely amazing the way you put the music and segments together! I have seen both Ma Lin and Wang Liquin compete in the last couple of years. Are they really retired?
Wow! Thanks for informing me. I am sad to see them go but excited to see the new wave of talented players. Great video! I think I accidentally deleted Irkutt's reply. I apologize for that.
+evlienace you are right. players get better and better, add to this development of tt equipment (blades and rubbers are significantly faster). and of course changes that were intoduced by ittf, i mean plastic balls (its harder to give rotation to plastic ball than the celluloid one). being defensive player is also even harder than ever before. changes like this favour ultraoffensive players from china. nowadays players move like robots :-) we have faster game, but with shorter and less spectacular actions. its sad.
Wang liqin would always be the silent hero of chinese table tennis team. When things count most, he delivers. During the times when chinese dominance were at stake.
depredator007 I took that final part from my earlier tribute to Wang Liqin. That track is the main one there, have a look at this tribute, the name of the music in the description (the 1 track) Wang Liqin - Shanghai's hero. The Story of a Legend.
I am from China, but is Malong the greatest of all time in China? No!!!!! Of course not, he never ever becomes that. WE cannot ever forget these names: KongLinghui LiuGuoliang WangLiqin Malin Wanghao etc.
I am from China too, I think Liu guo liang and Waldner in their best time can give ma long great trouble if they use 38mm ball. Liu and Waldner never beat you, they trick you, they fool you, and then you lose the game. today player have best skill, but 20 years ago every people have his tactical.
Mr. Irkutt Dobrich, you are doing a great service for these legends and also for the sport of table tennis. Your contributions are very well appreciated. THANK YOU VERY MUCH.
Thanks a lot. Very pleased to hear that. I am glad you like it. It inspires for new videos to be done. Thank you.
One of the most hard-working and disciplined athletes in the Chinese National team ever. RESPECT!

Wang Liqin... the name sounds weird....
Wang liqin lost to some austrian muppet? christ I expected better from him.
