This game is like Civilization, but with some differences, particularly the blending of civilizations. What you see here is my initial experience with it. The tutorial is decent and provides helpful guidance. You get to create your own Avatar and customize skills and abilities.
The version I'm currently playing has the new update called "Together We Rule," which significantly improves upon the base game. I've also got some add-ons for it. All the typical settings you'd expect from a triple-A game are present, and the interface is smooth and visually pleasing. You can zoom out to view statistics like Society and Religion, which I believe will play important roles in the gameplay.
Just like in Civilization 6, cities have their own zones, and you need to build them according to the needs of your population. It's crucial to consider the available resources when planning the city's location. Diplomacy is key, whether it's building up trade or preparing for war. I have options to share information, set border policies, and form military pacts. Within the kingdom, you need to make various decisions, from fulfilling city needs to determining the type of rule you want to enforce, always striving for a balance of stability. Wonders are an exciting aspect of the game that can give you an advantage over other players. Choosing which civilization to play as and leveraging their unique benefits is the main draw of the game. So far, I've only completed three steps, but it already looks intriguing. Each era has specific goals to aim for.
Combat is different from Civilization 6, offering more control and resembling Age of Wonders 4 but with simpler mechanics. To get a better understanding, I'll need to invest more time into playing. So far, I haven't been attacked, which is what the mixed reviews are about. I can't quite pinpoint what's missing, but it feels like there's something lacking. Maybe I just haven't played enough yet.
It seems that new content is continuously being added to the game. One interesting feature is the ability to share my profile with other players and friends, allowing them to play against me using AI. That's something new and exciting.
