Material List -
Hook - 2X Dry Fly #10-12
Thread - 6/0 Black
Tail - Black Marabou
Body - ¼ inch Yellow Foam Strip
Peacock Herl
Yellow/Black Centipede Legs
Dan and Roy are passionate fly tiers here in Kentucky and they happen to live close to me, so I thought why not create a monthly video allowing them to share some fly tying patterns and insight with anyone out there on UA-cam!
If you want to tie with them get out to Orvis at the Paddocks in Louisville, KY the 2nd Thursday of the month! Materials are typically provided, and tools are available if needed!

Very easy tie, which is good. Beetles, gurglers etc are good, mix it up with smaller foam ant flies and maybe some elk hair caddis or moth type flies.

I caught a bunch of blue gills and bass on one yesterday. Sadly I hooked a big bass that broke my line. Oh well, I’ll have to tie more bugs. Thanks for sharing this bug

That same pattern only in orange is the killer here in Ontario Canada our bluegills love orange things for some reason. I think its because of the junebug hatch. but great fly guys.

I love the simplicity of this fly. Does it catch trout too? I notice that you fish it on the surface but wondered does it also catch sub surface on a sinking line? Thanks, I will be trying this one out on the lake trout in the UK.
