Having been brought up in Kent, the gurkhas were part of our lives.....my family have supported the Gurkha welfare trust for years, now its just me, and im so proud they are still very much part of our countries security.....ayo gorkhali!!!!
Absolutely, don’t know if you’ve been up to Catterick but there’s loads of de-mobbed Gurkhas up there still, always impeccably dressed (regimental ties etc), always impeccably polite, and nobody gives them any trouble whatsoever because of their (well deserved) reputation They’ve stopped barroom punch-ups between other units before by just standing up in the middle of a drunken ruckus going on (think Drederick Tatum’s prison scene in the Simpsons if you’ve seen that 😂😂) I’m glad they’re recognised. And Ayo Gorkhali to you too ❤
Top notch soldiers. Lived for a couple of years as a youngster in Kluang garrison surround by Gurkha soldiers and families and went to school with some of their kids. Didn't realize then I would have the opportunity to serve alongside them later in life. Good soldiers, good human beings and all round great blokes.
Dad was a Captain in the Gurkhas in the 80's based in Kluang....I joined 33 engineers EOD and was attached to the Gurkha Paras for 8 months, great deployment, great guys, glad they fight for us lol
Im not even british and i like to watch these kinds of videos. There is something so respectable about joining a military on the other side of the world.
It would be nice to see these march in London, along with the veterans in full uniform at the September protest. The police would back off. Love the Ghurkhas'
I make that 136 bpm. Quite a brisk march. Which are the fastest and slowest marching speeds of the UK military? I always thought the Royal Marines were on the steadier end of the range, and I recall a former Sherwood Forester (the 'Woofers') teling me that their march tempo was crazy-fast.
in the Falklands war, the Argentinians were terrified of having to meet the Gurkha regiment (who were there), they knew about the weapon they call .. . 'KUKRI' and it's legend that if it is drawn it has to be used. the Argies surrendered before the Gurkhas were to findthem in the hills...sensible lads.
What on earth is that gormless squaddy supposed to be doing who is slouching alongside these amazing soldiers? What an example of the difference between Ghurkas and homegrown. Shameful.

You can’t beat marching at light division pace , leaves the rest of the army behind . Swift and Bold

I remember the Gurkhas when I was with the Jnr Para Coy in Aldershot. We met them quite often when out for runs etc

Namaste to all my Gurkha friends and veterans, still fighting for pension parity. 🙏
I’m joining the Royal artillery in September , hopefully I get to see some of these great warriors while I’m serving 🇬🇧🇳🇵
Good lad you're enjoy it !! Get though the training 💪 and life with be a breeze
Well turned out and well drilled.
Celebrating a town’s freedom and native liberties is somehow really badass.
Thank God they fight for Britain.would not like to come up against them boys,!!!True warrior's.👍
They also serve in the Indian army in large numbers.
The UK Ghurka units are the finest fighting units in the world. Dedicated, fierce and tough.
Thank you for the great comment 🫡

The Argie conscripts were also told that the Gurkhas would eat them lol
Is Woodbridge now a military base?? I know the old RAF base is used as married quarters has the airfield reopened?
LOOKING AB'S SMART 70 GURKHA PARA SQN
😍
¿Los Gurkas marchan a un paso diferente (más rápido) que las otras fuerzas británicas?
good lads, and pensions must be as per the army full stop.
Would not like to face these boys in battle...
I could clobber the lot of them

Once a Gurkha draws their Kukri he must draw blood. The bravest of the Brave.
Is that still true....Im not sure anymore tbh.@@neilkipling9123
These guys can march 180 steps per minute, Royal green jackets march 160 steps per min ( slow durch)
No way am I fighting that lot!
Geronimo!
I served with African & Malay soldiers…also pretty good…some Brit senior nco’s attached not up to the same standard!
Surprised to see how few of them are qualified as, "Paras".
Am afraid the para wasn’t so military…
Nothing smarter!
Wow! Everyone else seems sloppy!
If you face them in battle they will hurt you, ps sort the pensions out!
