    took me 19 episodes of inital d to complete this, very easy to get the hang of and demonstrated very well. I loved how you made it clear what stitches you were going into, but also made it so we can have a little independence in crocheting all the rows, and choosing our own length.

      I used about 1 and a 1/5th spool. I did make mine extra large though so it was a bit saggier and longer around the neck. One spool should be fine with her video!@@samanthawahlbom9532

      Hi! There’s a way to get rid of the pointy bit. With the scoodie folded flat from the side, push the pointy bit in to the wrong side, try form a curvy/rounded shape from the right side. Use stitch markers to help maintain the shape. Then from the wrong side, sew along the curve to seal it off.
      If you’d still like to start a new one, find one that’s worked in rounds. If it’s worked in the same way as mine, it will be pointy at the top.

      Thank you so much 💕 This design intentionally features a pointed end at the back. However, if you wish to soften the point, it can be done quite easily.
      Start by folding the point to the wrong side, creating a gentle curve on the right side when the hood lays flat with the left or right side up. Secure the shape by using pins or stitch markers. From the wrong side, seal off the pointed corner to prevent it from reverting to the right side. This will give your hood a more rounded shape. Hope this helps 🥰

    I LOVE THIS PATTERN! i've made it twice! do you have any advice on sizing it down for a child's head? it's for a friend so can't measure as i go?

    • @CherilynQ
      @CherilynQ  Рік тому

      The vertical measurement (st number) is relatively forgiving compare to the circumference (row count) because of the string. So I think it's safe to simply take away a few inches from the stitch count. However, for the row count, I suggest looking up the child's head circumference based on his/her age, minus the face width; this should be your target row count. Hope this helps!

    I’m not sure what’s going on with mine. My yarn recommends a size 5mm hook and I’m using a 6mm for that loose look and I worked up 18 rows and It’s not looking very big. I’m kinda just crocheting till it fits my head but it looks about half the size of yours when it should be looking bigger…
    Also my rib isn’t laying flat. Should I keep adding rows or just block it out and hope for the best. I’m honestly so confused

    • @aloegarden
      @aloegarden 11 місяців тому

      the same thing is happening to me rn! i’ve done 18 rows but i can tell it isn’t going to fit on my head. i think my tension is way too high so the rows have sort of clumped together. how many rows did you end up doing??

    • @Lili613b
      @Lili613b 11 місяців тому

      @@aloegarden OHHH OKAY so i did about 22 i think then put some safety pins in and stretched and pulled and it was actually TOO big at that point. I guessed that my yarn was too soft and wasn't holding its shape enough (since the yarn they used looked more structured). I took two rows out and left it with 20, since we'd add some more chains around the face later. It ended up fitting but definitely isn't baggy. I'll probably give it a wash and see how it looks later.

      @@mayarsleem7322 yes. You will have more than 18rows through, bc the dc is longer than a sc.

      Yes, you can. You'll need to work more rows to reach the same depth though.

    is there a simple way to make it so that the back point is longer and droopy like an elf hat?

    • @CherilynQ
      @CherilynQ  6 місяців тому +1

      Hmm I think for the hood part, you can work more rows to make it deeper, so the back point is bigger? Otherwise, you'll need a different pattern.

    Mine got very pointy where I crocheted it together. How can I avoid that?

    • @CherilynQ
      @CherilynQ  Рік тому +3

      Use a loose tension, a larger hook or you can use a yarn needle to sew it together. Sewing using the mattress stitch would guarantee a flat seam.

    • @leck4emba
      @leck4emba Рік тому

      I find it easier to draw the stitches together at the top from the inside and then I pull up on a couple of the inside stitches to kind of tuck it so it more round from the outside. Hope this helps. 😊
