10 years later, and this is still one of my all-time favorite brickfilms. (Let alone batman brickfilms) I'd even put this over the LEGO Batman Movie! I always love coming back and watching this masterpiece (as well as it's sequel). Such a great watch. Kids love it too! :)
Dyland on god, best lego batman stop motion in existence. Crazy how these guys out did the million dollar productions of Justice League and Suicide squad.
i come back to this every so often, i could never forget this lego movie. its true authentic batman, it just resonates with pure comic book energy and i really think it transcends the medium of lego brick to true quality storytelling. this would stand up as its own series on any kids channel to the likes of batman the animated series or avatar the last airbender. i mean its just raw entertainment, and in lego brick form!! the voices are just incredible, animation beautiful, and storyline : batman!
I use to watch this as a kid, omg the nostalgia. Such a good stop motion with a good story and the dialogue sounds like what you’d get in a Hollywood movie, especially in the scene set in the batcave. 👏🏻
Great job... I especially liked the conflict between Batman and Robin, it reminded me of their original comics tension. Alfred was spot on in personality and visually. Bravo, job well done. Music was great too!
Rest in Peace Joel Schumacher. Regardless of the critical reception of his two Batman films, I've always thought he was an amazing director (Lost Boys, Falling Down, Phone Booth) and I've always personally loved his Batman films too! Love the nods and tonal references to his classic bat-films. I think this brick fanfilm (and it's sequel) is a classic, too! :) Long live the rubber nipples!
I'd read on IMDB that Schumacher was originally going to do a darker Batman movie (he was a fan of the comics) but Warner Brothers insisted on a more lighter tone after Batman Returns. So, everything that pissed off fans can be attributed to Warner Brothers rather than Schumacher himself.
@@Blunderman-rl1hc I’m happy with the Batman Forever we got. (I even enjoy Batman & Robin) Schumacher originally directed Batman Forever darker, though. (Look up the deleted scenes) And, had he done a sequel to B&R, it would’ve been darker too! If only…
I actually planned on using Ledger's voice in the end but, when I tried dropping it in, it didn't seem to fit with the rest of the movie. Thanks for the comment!
WOW! BEST BRICKFILM EVER! I've never seen anyt movie made with LEGO with good plot, animation, voice acting, and editing all at once, until now! Very nice work.
I like that this video isn"t like forrest fire films where batman uses guns and all that (because that really isn"t batman's style because his parents were killed by a gun)
:) No movie is perfect, but I really appreciate your enthusiasm. The mouth effect is created by animating the open mouth on one frame, then alternating it with the original version of the frame. That give the illusion that the mouth is moving.
My brother (who voiced all the characters except Robin) is an actor, and he actually did have the opportunity to be Heath Ledger's stand-in during the months The Dark Knight filmed in Chicago. You wouldn't be able to tell from his voice as stand-in's do not do any vocal acting or appear in the final film. Thanks for watching and leaving the comment!
Just got back from the theater, having watched the first of fathom events' Batman anniversary re-releases of the classic films (89, 92, 95, 97). And I just had to watch this again! And, let me just say, this rivals even the excellent first Keaton movie! Absolutely brilliant film. I think of it all the time. Certainly my favorite Batman animation hands down! Would love to see a follow up(s) some day! In the meantime, I've always got Batman: Reassembled! Thanks for the memories! I've loved this film for about a decade now, and I can't help myself from coming back again and again! :D
Hey! Thanks so much for the comment; the fact that you thought of this walking out of the theater is honestly the best compliment I've heard. I'm blown away that this has been seen more than 2.5 million times. I've taken a long hiatus, but I'm just getting back to working on a 90-minute Justice League vs Avengers series that has been 5 years coming! And I still have plans for a 3rd and final installment to the series. Batman Reconstructed, perhaps?
@@ChristoferMatthias Only now saw this comment (thanks UA-cam notification system) because I just re-watched the films yet again. I'm very excited for Justice League vs Avengers (have been since it was announced) and would always welcome another installment to your unique take on the Dark Knight. As much as I love trilogies, I wish it could go on forever - but sometimes it's best to hang up the cape and cowl on a high note. Looking forward to Batman Reconstructed! (And, of course, JL v A as well) Thanks for responding! :)
Great job. Very good indeed. The best thing about this is there is it gets straight to the point of the video. However, ForrestFire just jokes about, then gets to the script, then jokes about again, and so on. But ForrestFire is as good as you. So keep up the good work.
Thanks. The mouths are created by digitally drawing the open mouth on the legos. Then you alternate the animated frame with the original, which gives the illusion that the mouths are opening and closing.
I remember when I was 12 I first saw this! Now I look back, it never gets old! VERY AWESOME! By the way, where's Batman Reassembled coming? You have 1000 subscribers!
Thanks for the complement. Yes, you can see a bit of putty that was used to keep him standing. We digitally removed most of it, but we couldn't get everything. Hopefully it's not too noticeable.
Yes, this is on Brickfilms as well. The mouths are created by digitally drawing the open mouth on the legos. Then you alternate the animated frame with the original, which gives the illusion that the mouths are opening and closing. Thanks for the comment!
The sequel to Batman Rebuilt is finally on it's way! Find out more about the film, discover how you can get involved, and earn cool rewards at kickstarter(dot)com (Search "Batman Reassembled")
I had a great set designer who put in a lot of time and hard work to make it look like it did. Proper lighting is also very important. Thanks, I will pass on your compliments!

This is Fantastic!! Such awesome Effects! I am currently working on a Lego Batman/L.A Noire Mash up The Trailer just came out and the video should be ready to go in a week.
Hey, thanks a lot! We were working against a festival deadline, so we the whole thing (except writing the script) in two weeks. Of course we were working on it pretty much non-stop (except for meals and sleep ocasionally ;) Good luck with your project!
awesome, ive watched this so many times!
Wow, Forrest!

Better than the Lego Batman Movie, that's for sure!
Dyland Pictures Agreed
well it was very offence. this video is about as good as mine. beside, hes got a better camera, bigger studio, and better editing software
@@theotv1647 Oh yeah lets do it together XD

So nostalgic

I'm so pissed of that you dont make these videos anymore :(
This was like one of the first Lego stop motions i ever watched on YT and it still Holds up.

Glad you found it again! Time just keeps going faster man, I was 18 when we shot this and now I'm 34 with a couple of kids 🤯

This is frigging epic! Love the whole design and layout. The Penguin and the news anchor were hysterical. I'd love to make one of these.
That was freaking amazing! I loved the usage of both stop motion and live action. I also liked the green screen usage.
Ya know,i take an interest in things like this Caleb
"By tomorrow, we'll be 3 of the richest blighters on the face of the earth, lets move" priceless!
Awesome video. One of the best youtube videos I've ever seen. Rubber Nipples!

Damn the nostalgia is real
You have the best lego "stopmotion" video i've ever seen it is so realistic and awesome!
I must say, this really is magnificent! A worthy tribute to the Caped Crusader!

Favorited this movie awhile ago and rewatching it, 5/5 again! :o
this is good this is REAL good. brings back memories from my childhood-U MAKE ME FEEL OLD!!!
one of the best batman videos i've seen
Loved the news reporter who yelled everything. Funny.
awesome, love how you put all the live action stuff and your takes torgether
One of the best lego movies iv seen.
This film is epic. You have inspired me to start making my own stop motion lego movies.
i think his cars come in worst conditions
Thanks. The mouths are created by digitally drawing the open mouth on the legos. Then you alternate the animated frame with the original, which gives the illusion that the mouths are opening and closing.
The end was great! "Its all part of the plan." (BANG)
Awesome ! Great lighting and framing ! It is still outstanding in 2020 !
In the beginning he had the Two-Face body. During the scene beside the shuttle, he was supposed to be in disguise. I'm glad you enjoyed the movie!
si!! de todos los vídeos que eh visto de lego, este es el mejor
Very funny, well put together. I like how Two Face talks out of different sides of his mouth. Your city set was sweet too! Announcer = Hilarious!
Awesome man!!!

Very original, great voice acting!
Keep up the good work!
Nice, very impressive! That was super awesome, great design!
I'm glad you liked the movie! Hopefuly we will have time to make a sequel soon!

the best lego batman i have ever seen
the reson ive commented on this like 4 times is because this is just so good!!
Wow, fantasitic backround and great ending!

1,000,000 VIEWS!!!! WOO-HOO!!! :D
Great job! Cannot wait to see the sequel! :)
I was contemplating whether you leave your girlfriends or your cars in worse condition
Thanks. I'm glad you like it. It took about two weeks for the production. But we were working on it constantly.
I had a great set designer who put in a lot of time and hard work to make it look like it did. Proper lighting is also very important. Thanks, I will pass on your compliments!
That's true. We were working with a lot of older LEGO pieces, which limited the bodies/skin tones we were able to use.
more for the love of god you make the best stop motions its been to long
Thanks for the suggestion, we know where we want to go with a sequel, which is similar to what you suggested!
Thanks! The mouths are created by digitally drawing the open mouth on the legos. Then you alternate the animated frame with the original, which gives the illusion that the mouths are opening and closing.
He was supposed to be disguised as a NASA technician :-). Thanks for the complements!
Why did Joker give Batman and Robin a Riddler-style type of clue?
this video described my childhood.
I loved this particular video before I even had a youtube acount
Man who makes these wonderful videos!!!
That newsreporter's funny.
The way he says the villain's name
That was awesome!
My favorite gum is not orbit!!!!
"Are those rubber nipples?"
Hah! Great reference!
Where did you get all those sound effects? Like Robins jet ski and batmans batmobile?
Cool! LOL in the scene in the city the batmobile is giant compared to the other cars!
man that's sick. Great work!
Thanks man, I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Thanks for backing me up on this one :)
@DavidsTVFilms, no Heath Ledger did not star in the film. Although, as the description says, the Joker was voiced by Heath Ledger's stand-in.
you know they should make a lego movie with lego people... it'd be soo awesome..
This is Fantastic!! Such awesome Effects! I am currently working on a Lego Batman/L.A Noire Mash up The Trailer just came out and the video should be ready to go in a week.
I downloaded stock footage and composited it onto the footage of the Legos for the most part. There were a few effects that we digitally animated in.
