For everyone asking about Poof. Cosmo and Wanda are retired in this. So chances are Poof is old enough to be living on his own.
I wanna cuddle wif u
If they retired why they got a God kid?? 😂
They decided to go out of retirement cuz missed so much helping kids. It's literally in the first scenes of the first episode... @@thehakaishin5416
@@thehakaishin5416 Watch the first episode with context if you have On Demand.
They put poof into a comically large blender because of nobody liking that stupid creature
I just wanna see comso absolutely adore his wife like in the earlier seasons of fairly odd parents
True. So far, too much Hazel, not enough Cosmo and Wanda.
@@user-bs8nj2di9uI mean to be fair they gotta flesh her character out more before diving into the others since she is the new kid focused on
Mhm
C no
So you just want the oh yeah cartoons pilots.
I like how Hazel has a gap in between her teeth as opposed to Timmy who only had two huge buck teeth
I never noticed that detail! I wonder if it was intentional
@@Brixstergotta be, they love their tiny details in the show
I noticed with the more pronouncely good godkids that Cosmo and Wanda have dental issues (besides that one kid who wished tornadoes go after trailer parks). Timmy has large buck teeth, Hazel has gaps, Chester has braces, Tootie (for a day) also had braces.
@@santiagogabaldon6596The one outlier being Crocker who just had his ears on his neck
Hazel looks like the opposite of Timmy visually in multiple ways. She has curly hair, Timmy has straight hair. Hazel has dark skin, Timmy is light skinned. Hazel is a girl, Timmy's a boy.
She got the undertale Frisk outfit
I strongly agree with your opinion.
what if she IS frisk!? :0
This was Literally the first comment I saw after saying it out loud
FRISK UNDERTALE🗣️🗣️🔥🔥🔥
Black frisk?
I'm glad to see people call out on Timmy's behavior in the OG show. Like I loved his character in the first few seasons since he has shown to learn from his mistakes. But by season 9, he became a spoiled brat that even Wanda gave up hope on him learning lessons. I still remember when he told Wanda, "Wave the wand, woman!". This is why I agree that Hazel is a better protagonist than Timmy
There’s a reason why everyone agrees the show should’ve ended at Channel Chasers.
Well timmy sucking in later seasons doesn't erase how good he was in earlier seasons
@@Kneevirusit did, it doesn't matter how you were acting in the past when you are an a-hole in the present
@@Spacey_key its just a cartoon, cus the later writers messed up doesnt make it a bad character.
give her 9 seasons and you'll find out how extreme her character gets
The best part is, Hazel isn’t a fucking sociopath like Timmy!
and she’s not a Mary Sue like Chloe!
or an awkward cringey teen like Viv!
or an irresponsible showboat like Roy!
Yea just an actual child
How is Timmy a sociopath?
@@matthewtartt9422
Is this a fr question?
@matthewtartt9422
Don't know how politics got in this, but Timmy was the prime example of a sociopath. He only cared for himself. It took a while episode to get him to see his wrongs then repeat. One episode he just decides to rid everyone of the universe except him and Trixie. Which was selfish. And he wouldn't of cared if she went crazy if she hadn't tried to kill him
I agree with the dynamic between Cosmo and Wanda possibly being much more satisfying. I just wish we could have gotten more of the original dynamic of “Street Smart” Cosmo and “Book Smart” Wanda
I would love to see that!
only phil was able to pull that cosmo off perfectly
I just hate how people keep saying “what happened to Timmy” like I know the show went on for a decade to long but he wasn’t ment to have them for forever
Louder for the people in the back lol
Of course, we still are curious to what exactly happened to the loveable bastard...
I mean he didnt get the channel chaser ending...
@@spinylightgaming that was the good ending
Thought he appeared in a cameo as a grown man?
EXACTLY, JUST LET WANDA BE SILLY AND FUN GOD DAMMIT, and give Cosmo a brain
Sorry nah, their original dynamic made them appealing. I didn't know anyone who watched the show for a reason other than what a likeable dork Cosmo is.
I liked when they were both casual idiots rather than Cosmo just being braindead.
I feel like Butch Hartman wasn't involved in this showing how well the show went without his dumb ass.
Yeah me too
Actually he’s involved as an executive producer
@@user-ej7dj8fc9e But it's like Danny Phantom, he probably used good writers to make "his work" good.
we shouldnt be bashing on him seeing as he has worked on other shows such as Danny Phantom where the MC wasnt a douche. probably more on nickelodeon than him tbh.
The hate boner is strong, and the riding is also strong for a trash show.
Dude I DIG the animation style everything translates so well into 3D
Much better looking than in Jimmy Neutron's artstyle for sure
@@bignerd1994 oh god, don't remind me, especially the FoP models in Jimmy Timmy power hour.
Hazel being voiced by Ashleigh Crystal Hairston (one of the showrunners, who also wrote on Craig Of The Creek) helps in making her character likable. Plus, the involvement of Lindsay Katai (writer on Infinity Train and Wolfboy And The Everything Factory) as another one of the showrunners also helps.
Curious abt the wolfboy bit, what's it about?
@@princkleminckle1159 Wolfboy And The Everything Factory is the first serialized kids cartoon on Apple TV, running for only 20 episodes. Here's what it's about:
"The series follows Wolfboy, an imaginative oddball who discovers a strange realm at the centre of the earth where fantastical beings called ‘Sprytes’ create things for the world on the surface - clouds, trees, rabbits, dreams, hiccups, memories, time... everything. With the help of his newfound Spryte friends, Xandra and Sprout, Wolfboy learns that not only can he use the creative energy of the Everything Factory to make his wild imagination come to life, but that he is destined to play a central role in an age-old battle between the forces of creation and destruction."
Omg. I love Craig of the Creek. Idk I’m a grown woman but I thought that show was such a fun watch. The writing was pretty decent too so definitely helps she is there.
No wonder it's good, Craig of the creek is a masterpiece
Finally someone likes this show I saw it and it was good but people saying this is a bad show
I liked it as well 😁
(And yes I watched the original)
ppl hate it? I've only saw a lot of positive reviews but could just be me
@@fantomu7292 Probably because people who watched the original series are hating on it before giving it a try and I’m not even going to lie, I’m one of them 😂. Just didn’t seem like it would be any good honestly and I can’t sit here and judge it yet because I still haven’t watched it but after hearing this it seems I’ll have to give it a try.
@@fantomu7292probably people who only watched the pilot when it got leaked
Honestly as someone who worked on this show, im happy people are digging it. The hate was coming from people who hadn't seen it. Which is odd
Is it me or does Hazer have more of a parent/child dynamic with Cosmo and Wanda than Timmy ever did?
Sorta, it’s more like they definitely view her as more of a kid. With Timmy near the end it was like they were just his butlers
Fop got something that most shows wished (pardon the pun) they'd had, a reboot that genuinely does the source material justice.
Another good example of a reboot that not only improves on the source material but actually IMPROVES on it is Ducktales. Thats the only one i can think of, except maybe She-ra.
@@slightlyuncomfortable Yes! Your so correct!!
Don't forget, "Scooby Doo: Mystery Incorporated." The really good series.
@@starmage11
You can count pretty much every Scooby Doo series really. The difference between the original 1969 show to even the 1976 show is STARK. IMO Mystery Incorporated kinda flopped because they didn’t put too much effort into the actual mysteries and it often showed. It wouldn’t be as bad if they took more of a backseat to the story they were telling and we got more episodes like the one where they’re inside that underground mansion and had to work together. For the one incarnation with a serialized story, it really made the characters themselves take a backseat around the 2nd season and it never got better.
@@abaddon1503”You can count pretty much every Scooby Doo series really”

I love the creators “fun fact” about how the new dimmadale character only looks his son in the eyes whenever he talks about money
Idk if I’m ready to say that she’s better than Timmy as a protagonist but I do quite like her as a character. Timmy started off great but definitely got flandarized as time went on
I wish they were more consistent with cosmo and wanda being "two halves of a whole idiot" cause sometimes they do that and wanda almost never nags anymore but some episodes like "cookie's court" still defintely lean into cosmo being stupid
I wouldn’t say that Cosmo is stupid in this. He’s more silly like in the earlier seasons of old FOP. He can make goofball mistakes but they’re nowhere to the level of dumb the later episodes of the old show were at. Plus he actually saves the day in some of these episodes. Including cookie’s court.
timmy and the og show was A LOT more cynical so they each have their own type of humor tbh
Agreed. Both work. Neither is better imo, just different in tone.
But the FOP turned Timmy from cynical to straight up selfish!
@@nathanseper8738that's often what happens in long running shows. 20 years later and you have a new writing team and the show ain't pulling in the numbers it used to so they devolve into making the characters simpler versions comprised of their most bombastic qualities, they become caricatures. Just look at Spongebob and The Simpsons.
Suddenly Timmy went from being a little jerk punk kid with too much power to a literal psychopath.

This show is very fun and charming. Hazel is instantly more likeable than Timmy and Cosmo & Wanda are back like they never left in the best possible way.
I am looking forward to seeing where this first season goes!
I think Timmy is more likable.
@@matthewtartt9422Timmy is a dickhead bro
Why do everybody say Hazel is better than Timmy!!!?? Timmy was lovely and Hazel has no problems, she does NOT need fairies. 🧚♂️
I think they are all paid to say that by producers so that the new series is accepted
@@jumps44 I like both of them but I’m pretty sure people are just saying that about Hazel because they find her to be a more relatable
@jumps44 Well, to be fair, it is shown that Hazel is neglected a little by her parents, who easily get wrapped up in their own work.
Honestly this was something me and a lot of folks have been thinking of for a decent while now. Fairly Oddparents could've been a hit if they just changed the main characters every here and there instead of keeping Timmy and adding characters like if it was 60-70s TV shows.
To be fair cosmo was actually smart in the beginning.
Wanda was smart smart and Cosmo was street smart
Honestly, i haven't seen the show yet, but i absolutely love the artstyle. It somehow looks like 2d while being 3d. It really captures the style of the original show while being 3d animated. Although, hazels outfit does give me flashbacks to a certain kid. Almost as if, im being filled with DETERMINATION
I don’t think the series is bad. My only gripe is that they keep using Cosmo and Wanda. I get it they are iconic, but I would have liked to see be paired with one of the other fairies. Like come on give my boy Binky a shot.
I see a lot of people comparing it to the original series- and that's pretty fair, given that it is a successor to the original FOP. However, I think they are going in their own sort of direction with this- and I think it benefits the show. Really excited to see it get its sailor legs as it gets into the flow.

Cringeworthy?
Terrible?
Awful?
Deplorable?
Unwatchable???
@@quinna5537 yes
Honestly compared to that live action hell hole, it’s for sure better
I might be the only one with this opinion since I keep seeing constant criticisms of it(??), but I LOVE the animation and style of the show. Everything looks so textured yet simplistic to the old style. Every frame has a beautiful warm tone to it and it looks so pretty. I also love the lower frame rate, I will forever say that Into the Spiderverse changed animation for the better with lowering frame rates to get a comic or stop motion feel.
I want this art style too I really like how they’re pulling a peanuts and mixing the The art style of the original source material with 3-D it’s really cool
I like everything BUT the art style, I loved the og style
honestly i think it looks pretty nice, it's not the generic 3D all the shitty cartoon reboots are using now, it's very stylised
@@fl3m1n9o4 it's not that but they can only do so much with this and it will get boring
Art style is honestly kinda the same, it just looks more HD or 3D
its something fresh I suppose
Perhaps, but they actually do utilize the original art style for all of the pictures and phone screens that appear in the new show, which I think was a super cool idea.
"Its just a thought" sound like "its just a theory"
*"Argue with your mom."*
It’s honestly so funny how people are still hesitating to say that the show is actually GOOD because of how the original fairly odd parents was mostly all of our childhood.
To reformed Da Rules...
I think if they can actually make it so that they fix the problems of the original series that’s a good thing and I wish that’s what all we were because there were a lot of flaws and I’m happy to see Cosmo be going back to his roots as someone who really wasn’t that stupid he was silly, but he wasn’t stupid
I watched a bit and dig the artstyle. My overall take was, "This looks like a good show for kids but I'm not gonna tune in every week". And there's absolutely nothing wrong with that. If I had kids I'd probably not mind having it on.
I haven't seen the series but they really NAILED it with the art direction. so much more vibrant and textured than the original. They really took the tech available today to make something that would've been impossible back in the day.
I like timmy more being a bad kid, selfish, greedy, over confident at times but has a heart at the end of the day. Learn from having the responsibility of fairy godparents
I think it looks cute. I grew up with the fairy odd parents. I think Hazel is absolutely adorable.
I can't help but picture him without the voice over and just nodding his head around
This animation style kinda reminds me of the loud house 🏠
I'll be honest, I haven't seen the show but I'm willing to accept Hazel over Timmy because by the end that boy was a monster. I don't know what kind of monster, but he was clearly no longer a good person, if he ever really was one.
Damn Flanderization.
@@jacksonbowns1087 This is all Butch Hartman's fault!
@@scarletweb2106 how do you know its all his fault? he is still an executive producer for the new fairly odd parents and he has other successful shows aside from fop such as danny phantom.
@@scarletweb2106 it's really not, he said he wanted to stop after channel chasers but Nick likes to milk shows til they die. If you're going to blame him for FoP you might as well blame Stephen Hillenburg for Spongebob being ruined or Matt Groening for the Simpsons becoming a mess.
He might have been involved as an artist but he was clearly on to other projects by the time the talking dog showed up.
@@arceon9229 yeah other successful shows that ended properly, Nick likes to milk every show until everyone hates it.
at least some of Hazel's wishes have good outcomes unlike Timmy's did. And they're still being used for the greater good.
im glad i gave it a shot, Rise taught me to not judge things before they land. I learned, and i see the results of that. This show is Fairly Odd Parents for the next generation. Its not actively trying to piss people off
Turns out a butch hartman show is better when butch hartman isn't involved. Honestly, cosmo and wanda should have gotten new godkids a long tome ago. Showrunners said poof will appear later on. Wonder if poof will have his own godkids or have a job that requires him to stay in fairy world.
I’ve only seen a handful of episodes of the original series but from what I’ve seen of the new series, it looks way more fun!
I have been absolutely loving it
The Animation Feels More Detailed
Then Ruby Gilman Teenage Kraken
Despite Both Characters Having Sad Characteristics
With Ruby Gilman Having Panic Attacks
With Chelsea Being The Only One Who Knows Her Kraken Powers
And Hazel Being Alone
Until Wanda & Cosmo Came In To Grant Her Every Wish
Calls the video "fixing da rules" does not talk about how they fixes da rules at all
This guy made a good point; Hazel is a good kid and is way better than Timmy. In my thought, Timmy is okay; however, Hazel is a very suitable child who really had no friends to talk to before meeting Cosmo and Wanda.
I hope in a future season we meet adult Poof!
Nah, you could have praised Hazel without having to knock down Timmy. He don't deserve that.
But, I pretty much agree with your thoughts otherwise. Maybe Hazel could have a bit more bad things going on with her, but she's fine as is.
I will say this most shows swap races with characters and change their personality completely like the recent TMNT did however this time with New wish they made a an all new character making them their own which is how proper characterization is like with Miles Morales yes he is a black spiderman but his own Spiderman he isn’t a black version of peter parker he is is own character just like they are doing with hazel
It's been a while since the last time Nickelodeon put effort into any of their shows (correct me if I'm wrong).
i think theyre doing the same thing they did with timmy. start off with simple wishes any kid would ask for. but u enjoy timmy atuff more right now because his wishes had stakes and consequences. but its season one so we will see. even if theh dont add huge stakes and keep it as it is. i think its fine.
Hazel wishes has stakes and consequences
@Mannof1000Thoughts so far they barley have stakes. Because she can just fix them with wishes. Timmy had to think outside the box and be creative to fix his problems. That made it more interesting to watch.
Like when Hazel wished she was more popular with the teachers. The "stakes" You were talking about didn't matter when she just fixed it with another wish.
Same as when the city lost power, she could've just wished that it had power again if the dinosaur didn't fix it first.
We need the rules back to add stakes, or just let her make more creative wishes.
This Timmy slander shall not stand.
@Mannof1000Thoughts All I'm saying Timmy made a wish where it resulted in 50 yrs old time being stopped so he wouldnt lose his fairies. But that was when the show was at its best. I'm hoping for those kinds of stakes. But the show is new so I'll keep an open mind and see if it gets grander.
@@arielmorales4370 That 50 year old wish literally broke the continuity. Timmy also easily could’ve fixed plenty of his problems with wishes. Hazel has had episodes where it wasn’t and easy fix. Plus Timmy’s “stakes” a lot of the time were for getting something like a game or wanting someone to like him. A lot of his problems were something he easily could’ve fixed. Stakes don’t need to be life or world threatening. They just need to be important to the character.
While haven’t seen it just hearing the info you shared and what you thought about it, it seems more like a normal Fairy Godparent situation where the kid is just a NORMAL kid and not some person of infamy or Timmy Turner who’s affected the universe as a whole more than any other god-kid.
Huh!? Timmy was just an average kid, pun intended, who affected the universe AFTER he got godparents. What is a “normal” fairy godparent situation?
@@Mannof1000Thoughts Normal as in yeah it’s a cartoon and they’ll have wild and/or silly adventures but they’re not going to get rules written about themselves or have some big event where they the entire fairy world multiple times or have cross dimension events where they change the entire time line to where Crocker is god-emperor of the world or the world is run by apes.
A normal god-kid is gonna do normal things like all the stuff that you said in the video like moving houses.
Honestly, I kinda like cosmo being the dumb one, while wanda being the smart one, it's a really funny and cool dynamic in cartoons, cosmo can still be dumb but in a lovable way
I usually dont like when they unnesserally change the race or gender of the main character dor a reboot but this makes sense in the story and i think its good to have a new character

I agree with LS mark where this is one show that can’t be 3d because of the time and money it takes to model and rig everything it very much limits the wishes or even what cosmo and Wanda can turn into.

He starts off as an intimidating beast, but after time traveling and granted the ability to speak, he becomes an intelligent Dinosaur who idolizes Thomas Rexison. Also, he's just so cute 😍
#2 Hazel Wells
She starts off as obsessed about reuniting with her older brother, but had improved since.
#3 Jasmine

HOLY CRAP THE DESIGNS FOR THE FAIRIES ARE ACTUALLY GOOD
Hazel is an ok kid protagonist who is nice enough. She is more responsible than Timmy so her wishes are a bit less fun. Timmy's wishes were more wild and nearly destroyed the town on a regular basis and that is more exciting and funny.
I love Hazel for them. I adore their dynamic and the way they have those imagination wishes. I love how selfless and adaptable Hazel is. And this version of FoP fills the void left by MLP for me. Beautiful friendships, a chance for the main character to grow, actual stakes. I love what they did with Poof/Peri as well. I know people were prepared to hate this because folks hate remakes (and the previous show did kinda go downhill at a point) but they did this one right.
no one’s gonna say that Hazel looks like Frisk from Undertale??
Why does this dudes voice sound so familiar?
The amount of course correction going on, while still having its own appeal (especially stylistically) makes this show way more of a godsend than anything FOP has a right to be.
Pretty much have the same thoughts as you, but I feel likethe show could turn it up a notch with its absurdities. Like, the ideas are neat with bringing a talking dino into current year, school becoming zombies cuz of limited pudding, etc. I just feel like the execution leaves me feeling a bit starved for escalations here and there.
I’m just imagining you filming yourself silently making animated faces
I think I’ll always prefer the original and the original animation style but this is still a good show
i miss timmy
Yeah me too
It isn’t the same without him tbh
A modern sequel/spinoff that isn’t garbage? Sign me up.
Her character is wonderful but we can't be stuck in the past instead I hope for this sequel as long they go with it the right direction so please everyone respect this outcome and episode at least 😊

One of the few reboots that actually doesn't suck? There is no way it's 2024!
