There's zero hype for this device, seeing as every initial review slated it. Although I do like the device, which would make for a fantastic small desktop (like a NUC with a screen), it's beaten by the rest for its actual purpose... gaming. Oh well. When there's a range of OneXPlayer and Ayaneo devices, as well as ROG allys on ebay for low prices, no-one should consider the Claw. No-one. Ever. Great video.
I just bought it today just because how cheap it is 400 bucks while ally x and steam deck OLED costs 1100 over here.and after all the updates and overboost it's performing fine.playing wuthering waves medium/high 1080p 60 fps
The problem with this device they have to find the way to improve power profiles and power consumption with bios update. Super battery mode is 20w and you can not play pretty much anything. Balance cranks 35 watt and its the recommended power plan. Some games runs stromg and very well like halldiver 2, mw3 are butter smooth. But i can play those on the rog ally at 20 25 watts with great battery vs the claw at 35watt and kills the battery real quick. It got potential but as it sits is all over the place hard to find and set the right tdp on games
I snapped up the 7 ultra 1tb on ebay for £320. I've had the ally/legion/deck but there's something about this comparing to the original ally I'm more excited for better sticks with hall effect, a working sd card slot without worry and slow slightly better battery. I get performance isn't as good but i hope we continue to get updates overtime to at least close the gap
This would be a home run at the right price...like 1/2 what they ask for it. It benches well, but when it comes to real world, it just doesn't perform. And it's not even as efficient as the foes kicking it's butt. Meh. I would wait to buy any of these for the 2nd gen that has to be right around the corner.
First thing I think MSI has underestimated the understanding of the people who will buy these devices. In terms of performance/price this is a terrible product, of course the biggest problem is Intel - Extremely power consuming. Not to mention MSI and Asus are the same OEM product with the same controversial design. I am willing to support Chinese handheld device manufacturers like ayaneo/onexplay over such devices. My condolences to MSI if you continue to cooperate with Intel.

@@zomg346 I grabbed one for £390. Sure, it's not a bad device, but when compared to the rest, MSI messed up. Or Intel.
@@zomg346 Where are you guys located? I just purchase the Ally X open box for $640 The US second hand market is pretty flooded
@@miggyloz806it’s not “pretty flooded” there are a few floating around that’s it

This is my main computer while docked and I owned mine for two months and love it! But I am planning on getting a Rog X later this year 😁

That's true
Looks like you review primarily the high end handhelds. They're too big ,heavy and expensive for me and it seems there's no plug and play option.
To be honest, at this point, i review anything i can get to review. With this subscribe count, I do not get review units by brands or shopkeepers.
