I've had this same bike for 8 months and got hit by a truck and rebuilt it with new suspension etc and I've talked to the manufacturer on multiple occasions about speed issues and unlocking top speed methods. I am not reading comments but if anyone reading this has issues I can answer any question you have concerning this bike. It's so worth every penny. It's the best deal out there. Just upgrade the front suspension fork. Everything else is great. The Chao Yang tires lasted for over a thousand miles andi replaced them only because it got wrecked. I could've gotten another 500 out of them if I hadn't wrecked. Customer service is not great and they always message back at 3am which tells me they are in China so you can message me. I've asked them every question that you can possibly ask.
@@JesseJimenez1101 I do not have a wobbly battery. I tightened my rack as well. It may be a screw up from the factory. They might have drilled the holes too big. You can remove the rivnuts and redrill the holes and go up one size

I got this exact model, the S8, on August 30th and it's been extremely fun to ride! The only thing is that I would like to have an extra battery for it, but I can't find one anywhere. Also a lot of people are saying it's not "unlocked" for max speed, but mine came "unlocked" I guess, because it will do 36mph when using dual motor "B" mode and maximum "PAS" setting. One other thing, yours goes to PAS 9, and mine only goes to PAS 5. But, PAS 5 does provide full speed of 36mph on my bike.
Yeah to unlock you power the battery switch on and then the m power button while holding the left brake lever in for 10 seconds. Mine went 18mph out of the box and i raised hell via email to the manufacturer.
nice bike. i got the v20 pro for over a year now. if you maintain em normaly , like oil em up. and keep em clean they last ! mine has o rust on it and over 15k miles
You will not be disappointed. If you do not reach top speed of 32-33 out of the box there are some p settings you can change but start out with holding in the left brake lever while turning on the battery and the actual bike power m button and hold the brake lever for 10 seconds after the display Illuminates and it should kind of flash and then release and it will unlock the top speed if yours is like mine was. Mine only went 18mph out of the box and I was trying to return it when the manufacturer finally gave me the low down. They ship the bikes out of California and they have a law there that classifies e-bikes in three different classes. 1 2 and 3 and I know class 3 are illegal in California so I think they send them out with an electronic Governor to lock out the top speed so they don't get in trouble
@@kdscrapping4452 this bike you're talking about was my second option but I ended up going with the S8 because I think it has hydraulic brakes and the one you're talking about does not have full hydraulic
If you maintain this bike properly it will not let you down. I have 2500 dollar scooters that go over 45mph and they are just collecting dust now. Im trying to sell all of them because i will never ride an e scooter again unless i have to get on a bus or train. I keep a little fluid free ride horizon that folds up for times like that. Otherwise my fast scooters are going to waste. I have to put them on Jack stands and tie s bungee cord around the throttle to exercise the batteries because i never ride them anymore.
The front fork and bearings are complete trash. I didn't notice until i replaced the front fork with a bucklos 20x4 dual crown YINO air fork with the bearing and seal kit to go with it. The stock bearings don't even have a housing/race around the balls. They fell apart in my hand while taking them off. It was about 150 on eBay Plus 15 for the bucklos bearing and seal set on Amazon. It's like riding on a cloud now. Also never get the organic green dyisland brake pads. They are quiet but make a total mess with dust. Always get an 8 pack of dyisland semi metallic gold or yellow pads. It's about $7 for 4 pairs on Amazon and half the price on Ali Express if you're willing to wait several weeks. The 4 pairs pack gives you 2 brake pad changes. I have over 1000 miles and I've replaced brake pads 3 times because it never leaves dual motor mode and it's an every day commuter in Newark NJ. I run the crap out of this bike and it is very very worth every penny. Just take care of her. New 160mm rotors are only 5-6 dollars each on Ali Express. Make sure you get the 2.3mm thick rotors from dyisland. Most other brands are 1.9mm.
My p settings that I've used for 8 months are as follows and I've been running top speed verified with a gps speedometer. Press and hold plus and minus buttons to access p settings and these are the proper/best values...i initially had issues reaching top speed and was told by the manufacturer to hold the left brake lever in while turning the battery switch on and then the m power button on for 10 seconds and then release and that did some sort of factory reset and then I've had these p settings in place since then with no issues. The wheel size needs to be 23 because it's a fat tire bike and much larger than a normal tire. I have verified the speed with a GPS speedo and it's exact with 23 inches.
So basically it's going only 28 mph with factory data reset you didn't do anything different but unlock speed to 28 dual mode 30 are you reading anything else different??
@@gregsantiago3743 nothing different. Messing with The p settings, except for the max speed setting which should always be 100 percent, will not change the bike speed it mainly will just change the calibration of the sensors/magnets that detect and display the speed limit and odometer. They say it goes up to 35mph and I've only gotten 33.5mph going downhill while pedaling like crazy and I'm only 130lbs. I have never reached 35mph.
It is normal for the tire to come off the rim they ship defaulted so we get all the life of the wheel in use. I just bought the new s6 which is the 52 volt 2 battery version of this one. I like the rear shocks on this one you got better tho.
Yes i looked at the s6 after i bought the s8. For some odd reason the s6 wasn't available when i bought the s8 but i like the 2 batteries especially the one that looks like a fuel tank. I am trying to purchase the same wheels for the s6 to put on my s8. The first thing i noticed is the single shock for the rear suspension on the s6 and that would've been a deal breaker for me. I love the dual shocks on the s8 and they both have the same frame so i am in the process of converting mine to a half s6 with the s6 wheels and fuel tank battery. That is the perfect combo imo
140 mile range with those dual 52v batteries. That's great. I'm not trying to upgrade to 52 volts im going to stick with 48 for cost reasons. Can't afford dual 52s
You can get the dual shocks for your s6. They are the same frame. You'll have to measure them and find them yourself though. The manufacturer is very weird about giving out their vendor info
Can you run only the rear hub motor separately? I like the dual pogo stick rear coils. I love everything but the handlebars. I changed mine to shortened mountain bike handlebars. It lowered the bars down 4 inches, for better handling. At 5'8 i was sitting very upright, the stock handlebars are horrible.
