Seedling heat mats are great if used properly. In fact, many seeds need warmer soil temperatures in order to germinate consistently. I'll be making a lot of seed starting videos soon so be on the lookout for those, friends! 😊🌺🌱

Thanks again for an interesting and informative video. I'm hoping to find a heat mat under the tree on Christmas morning and I look forward to giving it a try. This video came at just the right time for me. Thanks again.

Well I guess I am getting heat mats! Most of the seeds/plants you mentioned I had troubles with germination and growth at room temp.

Hi there. I suggest buying just one or two to start with since plants are only on the mats until they germinate. I hope you have better germination this year, friend! 😊🌺🤞🏼

Geranium seeds also need the heat mat. I grow them in January and they're a nice sized plant to put in my garden in the spring.😊 Thanks Vita!

I agree! Geraniums / pelargoniums definitely benefit from bottom heat since they germinate best at 70-75°F (21-24°C). Thank you for sharing! 😊🌺

Hi Nancy. I have the 10x20 heat mats and those seem to work out great. You're very welcome, friend! 😊🌱

What great tips. I will be doing more research! I haven't had much success with some of those seeds or cuttings so just maybe the heat mat this winter will help.

Hi Vita! I just started growing from seed last Spring and did buy a couple of heat mats. You made me laugh about your kitties. Ours would probably love them too but they aren’t allowed in the grow room. My mistake was not using it for the Kilimanjaro White marigolds.

Hi Carla! Oh how I love those kitties so much! They are BEGGING me to make a how to grow cat grass video just so that they have cat grass to nibble on. 😹 I'm glad you bought some heat mats for this year. I hope you have better luck with your marigold seeds. 🤞🏼

My first time I have a grow room equipped with racks, lights, both grow and shop and first purchases of covered seed trays!!! My days are warm but at night the house gets colder because I am under the covers and like it colder. So I think that is when I would use it!

How exciting about your new grow room space! Remember - when using a heat mat, you leave it on while you have seed trays on it. You don't turn the heat mat on just at night. You want the heat mat to be at a constant temperature during the day and night. I hope this helps, friend. 😊🌺

Sorry out with my niec celebrating her outstanding grade from Veterinary University. I plan on buying a heat mat next month from MIgardener. Before this I used to set my flats on aquariums, they were running at 75 degrees so nice for seed starting. Unfortunately a leg gave out so lost a few tanks.

Congratulations to your niece! What a great accomplishment. You must be very proud! 🥳🍾
Great plan for buying a heat mat this year. Sorry to hear about your aquarium tanks. But that was a pretty smart place to put your flats on. Thanks for sharing in case anyone else is reading this and also have aquarium tanks that give up heat like that. 😊🐟

@ Thank you proud of her ,it’s all she has wanted to do/be since she was five. She rode and saw practice with our farm vet since she was nine years old. The neat thing is Jack the vet took care of a bunch of small zoos and she has helped with a bunch of exotic animals.
