Neal Adams is a veritable genius. His work is equivalent to that of Rembrandt, or Caravaggio, etc etc. He has given the comic world so much, we should all be very grateful!
Adams saved batman in 1970s but his green lantern green arrow of. 1970s were the best in that time period l was in middle school l am now 62 years old l have copys of comic books he did in book form
Neal Adams was also the same guy who led the movement that made sure Siegel and Schuster got a creators credit in front of every single Superman film. At the time they began shooting the first Superman film, both of them were living on social security. Whenever he worked on a different title it was an event. When he made a move to Marvel his X-Men is the standard that all who have come since have had to live up to. Same with his rendition of the Avengers. Adams ROCKS like few people do.
Was introduced to his work through characters like the SPECTRE and DEADMAN. The term "best" is overly used and abused, but Adams is up there longside Joe Kurbert.
I will go toe to toe with you on comic knowledge. As for Adams, he will tolerate no opinion but his own. He will ban you if you try to question him. He was a superstar and still is, but he has grown cranky in his old age. If his recent turn on Batman (that got cancelled before completion!) isn't enough to show you how far he has drifted, just try to question his opinion on 'the greatest thing' ever: the theory of expanding earth (dum dum da dum!). Adams has no doctorate. Just a wannabe.
I don't mind Neal's arrogance or pomposity so much as that I just find every bit of that new stuff (both advertising illustration and the comics they showed) horrifically garish. The modern coloring applied to most of that stuff is absolutely hideous! It leaves me wondering about Adam's tastes because he can still draw but almost everything he's done since the 70's looks horrible. Why?
I agree. Neal's talent has lessened since the 1970s. His current artwork is inferior to his early stuff. He has lost all the subtlety in his art and his figures and faces look ugly and exaggerated. It's a shame.
***** I would like to think that I wouldn't succumb to that degree of douchery no matter what the achievement, especially if is as insignificant as is the world of comics. There are far greater achievements done by far better men who had the decency and virtue of modesty.
Learn some history and show some respect. This guy is honest and did a lot to improve DC comics (redesigned Batman away from Adam West back to being the terror striking creature of the night with longer bat-ears and longer cape and obsessed with warring on crime as he was created by Bill Finger and Bob Kane to be, redesigned Green Arrow into the bearded icon) co-created Man-Bat and Ra's Al Ghul and Tala, enforced the changing of the Comics Code in 1971 allowing more creative freedom in comics again so characters could be vigilante outlaws, corruption of the law could exist, some blood could be shown, characters could kill, characters could die, drug addiction could exist and vampires could exist. Neal Adams fought for creators rights, helped Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster get credit and a pension, started an detailed art style trend, broadened the coloring, promoted racial equality in comics, and got Frank Miller his first job in comics. This guy is a legend going back to the Silver Age and Bronze Age of DC comics.
Your comments are your opinion. You get that don't you. Saying it is true, does not make it true. You sound childish and immature. That's my OPINION, however, I suspect many share it.

He's certainly the man to listen to. I for one, am glad that he contributed what he did for the industry.
He's a genius. If you ever get a chance to talk to him, his understanding of the work in this industry is exceptional.

Nobody draws the X-men, Batman, Green Lantern, or Green Arrow better. The reason I loved the X-men is Neal Adams, thank you!
