    Nice verbatim footage, Martin!
Like any true Melbournian, your jay-walking is very subtle...
There was a good opportunity to explain how and why we have hook-turns here with the Wally in the Audi (aren't they all?).
I kick myself for not photographing the roof of the Elizabeth Street Creek when they were pedestrianising that bottom section: it's steel covered! (Looking north from Southbank, you can see where the creek quietly empties into the Yarra).
And I've always been charmed by the wall tile message at 29:51...

The tram stops on this street near flinders is the best part of Melbourne, that's where all the ferals congregate but at the same time if you chill with randoms there you'll make memories because the most interesting things will happen

lovely! this reminds me so much of our school's city experience last year. (i miss it so much) a few friends and i would sometimes walk from flinders street up elizabeth street to the campus rather than getting off at melbourne central like usual.

Totally agree about our weather. And also it's pretty predictable a lot of the time. It's just the fact that it can change so much in one day, especially when a cool change comes in after a heat wave, that trips people up. I only recently realised that the temperature falling from 40 down to 20 celcius in the span of a few hours after several days above 35 is actually not that common elsewhere.

The platform 1 underpass looks like the entrance to the toilets because that's what it used to be.
The men's toilet were huge and accessible from the Elizabeth St underpass and platform 1, some time in the '90s (or thereabouts) it was truncated and only available from the underpass.
The men's entrance is now your connecting passage, the toilets having been made to share the old women's!
Very confusing when you need to go and are working on muscle memory and not your eyes!

This video is pretty cool. Especially love the commentary. Do the other videos in this series have commentary too? If they do, I'll definitely watch them, as this was my first one of these I have watched. Would love to see a walk along Swanston Street between La Trobe and Flinders, basically the same as this but one street across. It has some great stuff along it and I've walked that route myself before, so I'd love to see (and hear) your take on it. It'd be even better with all the trams running along it on each route. You'd have no end of tramspotting opportunities, including at the intermediate streets with trams running along them.
