I once read, post-OK Computer, Ed was pushing for Radiohead to do an album comprised mainly of three-and-a-half-minute guitar-driven songs (Beatles/Who-esque) and he had a hard time finding 'his place' in the band once they began down the Kid A/Amnesiac road. If this is indeed true, maybe Colin's 2:37 comment is related to this -- perhaps it's even slightly sarcastic, but not in an especially nasty sense.
at the beginning of the song he plays single notes with a delay effect. he does the backup vocals for the chorus, and in the second verse he shakes a tambourine. he also makes effects-laden noises at the end of his song with his guitar.
Anyone else think Colin is being heavily ironic with his "not many guitar moments" comment to Ed? I'm sure they constantly heard similar stuff from journalists/critics around this period.

Kid A and Amnesiac was written for 2010 or so I think. It made no.1 in so many decade wrap-ups.. It seems like far more of a relevant and to the point record in the present context of things, but maybe that's just me getting older. it's still mega advanced...how they got away with writing a pop album about not being able to write songs and the shitty side of fame. irony!
