  • For years, the measurement of a boat hull’s deadrise (the
angle(s) which defines the hull shape) has been a point of
confusion. Deadrise is a critical factor in how a boat performs,
yet boat manufacturers measure the angle in different ways
and different locations on the hull. At Duckworth, we’re setting
a new standard for deadrise measurements so you have a
complete and accurate picture. Every Duckworth model now includes three points of deadrise measurement: at the transom, forward
entry and bow entry. Comparing these measurements against other models can help you select the boat that will best fit your needs.

I purchased a 21 Mag from Duckworth Boat Co., salesman Fred Newcomb in I believe it was 1990. About a year later Fred brought me up to help sell the best river sled a man can buy. Once I arrived I quickly found out the Duckworth product was MUCH more than I thought. These machines are exceptional. Perry Heineke taught me about dead rise. If I remember correctly back then the boat were sold as a 20* of CONSTANT Deadrise... I still have my sales tools, including a sample of a reverse chine and other extrusions. I do believe the boats back then were made for 5086-H116 Aluminum. Tonight I punched Fred Newcombs name into my computer, I see he has passed. I tear. You can't replace guys like Perry and Fred... Where is Dan the Man Wickersham? :-)

I'm wanting a all in one kind of boat. we live in central wa so lakes and rivers are a must. my family will be using it for tubing and what not but I want it for fishing. we plan on moving to the west coast next year and we want to still do the things previously mentioned but also take it out to the bay or off the coast for tuna, cod, sea bass and halibut. what boat do you recommend? I've build small wooden boats but I'm not sure I want to build something that big.
