This was a cool challenge, really different from usual CK3 where here you had to struggle to stay afloat. Would love more videos like this, playing as a distant culture and faith.
There’s a couple similar starts in the Godherja total conversion mod. If you haven’t played it it’s a fantasy mod where a magic style Roman Empire fell apart called Averseria. In the eastern portion of the map there’s a Averserian Legion surrounded by Mongol analogues.

Pro Tip: When your capital is about to fall, set your ruler as the commander of one of your armies. They won't be imprisoned when the siege is lost if you do this.

Missed opportunity to explore the potential story of Liqian, After the battle of Carrhae the captured Romans were sent east as Mercenaries for the Parthians, It is theorized they clashed with Han forces as the Han described a "fish scale formation" which could be a refrence to the Testudo, The Movie dragons blade explores this and the local residents have Roman feasts and im pretty sure have DNA directing to the actual potential of a Lost Roman Legion going to China and eventually settling there

The concept of breakaway civilizations is something that hits the mystery center of my brain different tomb raider did a good job with the byzantines under the ice.
When granting a newly conquered duchy, grant each county to a different person. That way you manage their individual power and increase the chances of getting a good vassal for your council. Then, once you get a kingdom title, you can give the duchy to your favourite dejure count.
This mod, and the upcoming Eagle Rising mod make me want Paradox to continue updating Imperator:Rome. With the final updates they made 2 years ago being very good, and actually making it a fun game. They recently made a patch to the game, making the first update since Marius and its associating patches, so hopefully it will make a return.
There was no saving Imperator. Its foundations were poorly designed and the devs could only do so much to work everything else around that. Improved certainly but very good? No, and it never will be. There's still nothing substantial separating playing a Celtic tribe from Rome, there's no system to simulate how Rome subjugated entire regions simultaneously using trade and diplomacy before military force. Sad as the map looks gorgeous and obviously a lot of time went into making it very detailed and well researched.

@@imcardbored8394 The foundation of the game was a micromanagement hellscape that tried to marry EU4 map painting and Victoria population management while missing the point of both. I believe the entire game would need to be redone because the level of asymmetric gameplay and dynamism that I feel is needed isn't supported by the engine. Imperator is one of those things that you can keep piling features on top of but the core concept is rubbish, based on other popular GSGs without understanding why those systems worked in those games. Basically I can't imagine a way for the devs to build a system to, say, simulate the complexity of the Roman conquest of Gaul without basically replacing all the clunky existing systems. Although depth has been added Imperator is still about painting the map in painfully small incremental chips. It doesn't accurately reflect how empires or tribes functioned in the era and it isn't fun either to boot. Nobody wins.

This reminds me of the book 'Empire of Dragons' by Valerio Massimo Manfredi. It's a good read I recommend it to anyone interested in a scenario like this.
i did a similar RP gameplay where against all odd, the Romans managed to secure a strip of land in West Africa. By the time WRE collapse, this small colony was cut off and left on its own. really cool RP game tho fr
There is a Royal Court event that gives up to 20% cultural acceptance. It triggers on holding court if you have your steward on promote acceptance. Will save you literal decades.

Ooh when you do the uniting all of Africa may I suggest taking a look at the Somalia/Ethiopia region to start as there are some slept on culture buffs out that way that could come in handy!
The real ladakh happens to be barren area with temperatures so low that all liquid and semisolid food like ketchup becomes solids and people who are not from that areas die from hypothermia or from low level of oxygen... maybe Googling will show you might of Himalayas that r deadly and beautiful

I mean... There IS a feature of biology that if you mix vastly distant ethnias you have a higher chance of random gene mutations... So maybe this could either be insanely bad luck or a hidden paradox feature lol

Didn't even punish the enemy who kidnapped the sons wife and forced her to be their concubine, or the one who killed the other son in battle. This is why roleplaying the characters is more satisfying than playing this way.
Oh, right, cultural acceptance. If one of your counties are part of your own culture. The culture acceptance goes much faster with other cultures since there are much more intermingling.
Thanks for showing off the MOD, i didn't know about it, just FYI on the cultural acceptance, I keep hearing you look at the vassalage gain for it? No need to really focus on that vs, the yearly gain over all. Also at one point you said .65 + (20 mins in), it was .50+ cause you had a - for decay. The yearly change is the only one is the one that matters, the others are just the details on how it got to be the yearly gain. Also your battles, Terrain matters (River Crossings/Mountains), different buffs matter (Your territory/theirs, equipment or other traits or dynasty unlocks can help as well). Just some stuff that could help out maximize your game play. enoyed the video though, GG
