If anything you said is true. That explains why Eric had no hope that things would change for him. Having no one to turn to after being bullied so badly in this school .I always wondered how two children can have so much hate. From what I found that Eric followed Dylan just as much as Dylan followed Eric. Having fecal matter being thrown at you in class. Being bullied on a birth defect and beaten up in the locker room . Having ketchup thrown at you by a group of people and the rest just laughing

and the fact that the teachers watched and did nothing (in the case of the ketchup incident)... it’s so sad. people painting eric and dylan as the “monsters” probably didn’t read up on why they decided to do such things. this could’ve easily been prevented if
      1) eric and dylan’s parents found out more about what were going through inside of their minds
      2) if they sought mental health treatment
      3) if the teachers actually did something about these bullies.
this could’ve easily been prevented in so many ways...

@@rosethxr They ARE monsters still. Just because you think they were bullied doesn't make them any less. Most pedophiles were molested in their youth. Guess what? When they decide to do it to other children, that is the moment they also become monsters. There is NO excuse for what they did. Plenty of people are bullied way worse than that & they don't go & shoot up innocent people that never even bullied them. Which ones of their victims were their actual bullies? You tell me... because as far as I can see, nobody they actually killed did anything to them... especially not the disabled boy who didn't even know how to hide. Boohoo, people said mean things to them. There are people DYING from bullying every day because people don't like the fact that they are gay or black or other things and you want me to feel sad about a couple of jerks that had a freakin tampon covered in ketchup thrown at them? How entitled are you? I had a friend in high school that was HOMELESS. He got bullied every day because his family couldn't afford basic clothing. He didn't shoot up a school because of it. He makes more money than all of those kids that bullied him now! THAT'S how you bypass becoming a monster. Show sympathy where it belongs. It doesn't matter why.

Some of the people Eric and Dylan killed were just random victims. In the library, for instance, where many of the students were hiding under the tables, Eric and Dylan didn't even look to see who was under some of the tables before they shot them. At that point, it is no longer revenge. Instead, it's just blind rage -- lashing out at whoever happens to be nearby. I was bullied in school, and I didn't respond by plotting violence against the entire student body. Two wrongs don't make a right.

Sometimes it is the parents to blame for a child's trauma and sometimes it is not. In Dylan's case I do not think it was the parents fault but as for Eric, his parents complete silence is a cause for concern in my opinion. The guilty usually do one of two things - lie their asses off and try to cover their tracks, or they do not say anything at all (the smart ones do the latter - not say anything - as to not accidentally incriminate themselves further)...

Eric and Dylan were also victims. The parents had nothing to do with what happened on April 20 1999. Most of you should watch the movie " Bully" Eric and Dylan were not Gods but they were in pain. May all the families be able to move on and the pain lessens each and everyday .THOSE WHO WANT TO CALL ERIC AND DYLAN NAMES You just proved yourself to be a bully. Congratulations !

In some cases, it is the parents' faults (like if the kids truly were abused in any sort of way by them). But in both Eric and Dylan's case, I don't think it was the parents' faults. Though I do think it is rude for Eric's parents to never have said anything. Even if they are still in denial.. you cannot be like that forever. At some point, you have to realize that the tragedy did happen. Come out and say sorry for what your son did.. give advice to other parents on what they should do to prevent their kids from becoming like Dylan and Eric.

      Here's a repost from above:
They aren't just Normal parents. Specifically, the Harris' household knew Eric had guns, they knew he made bombs, they knew he threatened to murder students, they knew he hated his fellow students, and we don't know, but they may have heard him talking about the massacre multiple times. All this, when the first thing they said to investigators is "We want immunity or we aren't talking" The harris' family is totally to blame here. Not only that, but go listen to the survivor stories, not one "Sorry", not one "We take responsibility" They just up and left colorado.

The reason why Eric bullied Brooks is because Brooks and Eric were friends and Eric was upset 1 day before Eric began driving Brooks drove Eric to school but was late, Eric bitched about Brooks being late + now he would be late for class, Brooks yelled "get the F out of my car" left Eric stranded in the middle of a street & lost a days school

The real tragedy of Columbine is that anyone who is familiar with that day, can't help but feel it never should have happened. There were so many red flags leading up to the day, that if someone had just done their job, none of this would have happened. How could common sense have abandoned so many adults, who were in position to intervene and stop this?
You could and certainly should start with the parents and what about the police and even the principal. Trench coats, really? Why do adults no longer trust their judgement. Why have we come to judge actions not by outcomes but rather by their consequences? Why is the obvious so suspect? Why do we chose the convenient solution, over the correct one? Do we even know how to care anymore? The story of Columbine is not over. We will continue to be reminded of that day and for some the scars will never heal. America's saddest day.

One of the hardest parts of being the shooters' parents has to be meeting new people. The average person doesn't recognize their name and face so they don't have to deal with being instantly recognized, but when they get close to new people, at some point, they have to decide when to reveal who they are. I always picture them over for dinner, seeing pics of Eric, "oh you have another son", "yes but he died at 18". Some people will ask how, others may not ask but might recognize Eric's picture. Or if you don't tell them and the person finds out on their own, will they cut off the friendship, or try to exploit you in some way. Jesus. What a way to live. And there's no end point to it - till the day they die the Klebolds and Harrises will always be the parents of the Columbine shooters. If those kids had done Columbine solely to destroy their parents lives, they couldn't have done a better job.

If u want to make fun of people who were still virgins at 17, then you are making fun of more than half the world. Some of the ugliest people have sex at 14, so what does having sex have to do with anything. Like any male teen, their hormones were in high gear. At least Eric had dates since he was 14, more than you can say for a lot of people. Its not like they were 40 y/o virgins.

I've always thought Eric looked a lot like his dad. If you look up his dads high-school yearbook photo, its eerily similar. Now with his mom, I see no resemblance whatsoever but there are very few pictures of her. Its mind boggling because when I look at pictures, I see a nice family and look like decent people...and I'm sure they were but somewhere something went horribly wrong. I guess Columbine is so disturbing on so many levels...because this could happen to anyone. . To any family. Tomorrow is never promised and you may think you really know a person, especially a person you love but don't really know at all. . You don't know that other side that is hidden...and we all have that ...but Eric and Dylans hidden side was far darker than they ever imagined. I hope all the families can one day find peace..never closure, but just peace.

I've come to this conclusion after sorting through 20,000 documents about the massacre recently released by the Jefferson County Sheriff's Department. It seems that there are reports of people teasing Eric, reports of nobody teasing Eric, and reports of Eric teasing freshmen. There are contradictions in the evidence on the severity of the teasing, with some students saying that they were "relentlessly teased" while others less so.
