I return to this video every couple of years and every single time I have tears in my eyes just how incredible performance it was. Easily an experience of lifetime for those being there.

The greatest gesture was Marcus throwing down that Music paper of the desk, symbolically saying: Guys play out your own Shit, this is the Blues,so if you guys don't feel it, you're not worthy, He didn't say it in words but that's what he meant. Body language speaks louder than words,Vic.

Miller studied bass clarinet (classical technique)@ U of Fla/Miami (US), & played bass on weekends to pay for school. One of his early gigs was music dir. for jazz/R&B singer Phyllis Hyman.
Marcus learned from the very best and is still learning. I loved the way he threw down that chart at the beginning. He basically was saying PLAY WITH YOUR EARS NOT YOUR EYES. Either you GROW OR YOU GO...........the guy who got pissed will either learn from it or get mad and not. Sometimes you have to deflate the sensitive ego of the musician to get him to open up his mind.
I was also excited to see Amy at the festival, but I knew she wouldn't show up. I mean she cancelled already so many gigs due to her personal problems. Organisation of NWJF knew about this as well, but of course they didn't informe anybody in forward. It was announced just the same evening when she was scheduled to sing. I don't put the blame on her, but on the organisation. Visited NSJF for three days and it was rocking! Also the clinic given by Marcus earlier that evening was great!
Great band! Marcus is of course awesome. Dean is a good man, I have talked with him after a Victor Bailey concert. Poogie and Roy are also great. And I'm in love with Candy...I wish I have a girlfriend like her

Candy Dulfar is just amazing!! she played with Prince when he did the soundtrack for the 1st Batman on his live videos and has played on and off w/him over the years! she's also had an amazing solo career-she's got a great singing voice! this group of MUSICIANS are off the hook! b4 I die I would like to go to North Sea Festival coz you don't always know who will pop up there! Prince just did recently and all the greats have too!
Dauym.....epic musicians...'nuff said. Sounded to me that not all of them succeeded to understand Marcus' sign for the end of the song, but even so they covered it up sweet afterwards, and it's barely noticeable!
No disrespect to Amy Winehouse in any way, but that was just way out of Amy's league ! Oh my God what an incredible orchestra they had together, just utterly amazing. Roy Hargrove, one of my favorite trumpet players and Candy Dulfer was just killing the saxophone ! That was amazing

Marcus a great bassist, and talented on other instruments ^^ the only one that was THE bassist of Mr Miles Davis, there were a lot of good reasons :) can't stop to listen to Marcus !!!!
its also a slap cover. so you dont accidentaly mute out your strings when you slap. and also does help cancel with magnetic interferance or something like that but yeah its a vintage thing
