@@catapultking8861 Exactly! The MOD had to keep it dark so as to not expose Percy or Adeline's identities! That was an intelligent detail on their part, as well as on WNW's end too.
*I think the reason why he was so emotional was because of Duke, at that time when Adeline had her accident Duke fate was still a mystery so sir handle didn't want to loose her like he lost grandpuff*
Seeing how you wrote Duncan in his much more experienced years and how much he’s changed from his “Rock and Roll” attitude to a wiser and having more of a level head to lecture a bad situation gave my youthful eyes a twinkle. The emotion that Sir Handle expressed was beautiful too. I would’ve never guessed who the “Goose” was. Very well done. Much looking forward to more mini series.
There’s a fan theory that the Railway Series is about Gordon, young and boorish but then yielding the Express to Pip and Emma 90 years later. WildNorWester is almost certainly drawing from that.
Just, wow, fantastic! That reveal of Goose's identity was amazing, and the call back to the uranium deposits and Adeline's bravery was thrilling! You have outdone yourself with this epic production! Looking forward to more
I love how this mini-series deals with a lot of emotions, and shows Duncan in a very compassionate light. Proving that, under the rough and tough exterior, he is a kind and caring engine after all
Got to love how the other engines look surprised at Ivo having figured out who “Goose” is, but when it goes back to showing Ivo’s face Sir Handle just has a smile on his.
I really miss Duncan being an asocial jerk. XD Never thought I'd see Sir Handel this angry... Such emotion in that voice! Nice work, TheBlueE2! Good to see "Down the Mine" and "Percy's Ghostly Trick" connected in all of this. And that was a fine flashback. In some ways, Adeline reminds me of the titular character from _Anastasia._ Only things missing are an evil sorcerer, a family curse and some catchy songs... ;)
I just realized, in the recent remake of Desperate Measures, Adeline said "Poor Percy looks worked off his wheels" despite James also being there. Granted, the sentence prior to that addressed James too, but Percy's was the only name she mentioned explicitly. I suppose that that was a little hint towards their quote-unquote "good friendship!"
This was a great episode! It answered a lot of questions. Also I noticed that Colonel Westbrook was saluting Adeline as she ran onto the bridge. That was a good touch to the scene.
As ever sterling work. I have to say I particularly liked that detail of Percy following Gordon with the breakdown train in case Gordon couldn't get Thomas out and checking the damage. It's brilliant how that all tied into the beginnings of the MOD operations.
Well, it looks like that's one mystery solved. I really like that you gave Percy a role to play in this, and how you tied in the uranium into the story, too. I can understand Sir Handel's anger. Seeing Adeline have a breakdown like that, on top of experiencing that sort of living hell at the bottom of the gorge, AND still not knowing what caused her to have that accident, I'd probably feel really pissed off, too. And at the very least, he does seem remorseful for how he acted with Harris in the end.
And so the story comes full circle. I must admit, the reveal with Percy was ingenious and very well done: the secret clue for his name was very clever. And it makes sense with the uranium being mined from the old lead mines to lead to the opening of the MOD Base: being the Cold War, research into nuclear energy using uranium would’ve been a very top secret operation, and again makes sense for the battery electric engines and Adeline’s design. Well done, amazing work as always, and I can’t wait to see what you come up with next!
The character development in this miniseries is amazing! I really like how Sir Handel and Duncan, usually shown as the rude/arrogant engines on the SKR, are now the ones acting as Adeline's main support figures. Now that we know what really happened on that rainy day in '68, Adeline was quite a hero, sacrificing herself to prevent a catastrophe! And the reveal of Goose being Percy, and the connection that stretched all the way back to "Down the Mine", was brilliantly done.
So *Percy* was Goose, and there was some uranium in the mines too. Nice work tying that background information into the story. And there's a deeper reason why he was so adamant about Ghosts existing - he didn't want Adeline to be forgotten. Aww, that's a tragic but heartwarming reason. By the way, I think I can disclose this now, I made a few guesses to Dan via PM on who Goose is and he gave me a few clues, which lead me to coming to Percy being the correct answer. He also said there was some deleted dialogue from last week's episode that would have made the "Goose is Percy" reveal too obvious. Harris: Was he singing a Christmas Carol? Rheneas: Oh yes, it's his favourite time of year. Harris: But that's months away. What's that got to do with this? Rheneas: I have no idea. I also loved these more compassionate sides of both Duncan and Sir Handel. It's unusual for them to be written like this. As for Duke, I can see bits of what his subplot could potentially be about. He and Adeline may become quite close based on their feelings of abandonment.

I don't know what else there is to tell, but then again, the MOD base is still being decommissioned, so there's no telling what could happen next.
There's still that one saboteur who was never established as having been caught. That opens up the possibility of an antagonist for the last two parts.
@@florenceb1031 yeah, and it’d be really satisfying if Adeline is the one to catch him. Then again, those events did happen a few decades ago. The saboteur might’ve retired, thinking his work was done. Or he could’ve had the same fate as Adeline’s driver. Either way, I can’t wait to see what WNW has baking for the next two episodes! Edit: I’ve only just realized that the final two episodes could be dedicated to helping Adeline overcome her trauma about crossing the old iron bridge. Again, I can’t wait to see what WildNorWester’s got cooking up!
I think I know another reason behind Sir Handel's anger. He's angry at himself and Peter Sam for keeping Duke a secret for so long. 4 years at Peel Godred + 18 years at the Skarloey Railway = 22 years before Duke's stories finally come to light. Whatever your reasoning in your canon may be, they didn't work up the courage to do that until 1969, just like how the military kept Adeline's accident a secret for almost double that amount of time.
So that explains Adeline's accident in the first place. Such mystery and suspense from our POV is really something. I also like how Duncan and Percy got a role in telling Adeline of what happened between the past and present (and a lot of things that had changed over the years). I also like how you put in the events of "Down the Mine" and "Ghost Train" in connection to the whole story of what happened during Adeline's time, and her interaction with Percy. Sir Handel's anger is understandable because of how the Ministry of Defense keeping Adeline's accident a secret and them not telling the what had really happened. I think Adeline, Lily and Duke all have something in common: being stuck underwater/left abandoned for years before being found again many years later.
Amazing choice for Goose. I could tell it was either Duck, Thomas, or Percy due to their whistles and out of all three Percy was the least thought of and you caught me off guard. Excellent Job

Adeline wanting to be let go without a driver reminds me of the time when a Class 46 diesel was deliberately let loose and crashed into a nuclear flask, though that was a very different situation. As for this series as a whole, it's absolutely incredible. I was pleasantly surprised to see that Goose was actually Percy, since I was expecting him to be Duck. Didn’t expect Goose would be Percy. I partially thought it was Peter, but then I realized it couldn’t be him since he was in the tunnel the whole time and it couldn’t be before since all the engines on Sodor did not meet him until the year I was born on.

A week late commenting but great episode! Really like a lot of the details in this as well as the various call backs to tie previous stories together like with Down the Mine unveiling the presence of uranium at the old mine (though it’s worth mentioning that it doesn’t actually glow in the dark but it works for the RWS-verse) and Ghost Train (clever using that as the first sighting of a new character). Being able to actually witness and get a full explanation of what happened at the old iron bridge was a great reveal, very tense.
man oh man I was so excited when this video cam out. keep up the good work Engineer. hopefully you don't mind me calling you Engineer. it has a nice ring to it
All this time, the engines just had to ask Ivo Hugh how the song "Twelve Days of Christmas" goes, then they could have avoided a... wild *goose* chase!

I think it would have been hilarious if the other engines had finished Ivo Hugh's remark with the last four lines of “Twelve Days of Christmas” like this: SIR HANDEL(singing): Four calling birds PETER SAM (singing): Three French hens RHENEAS(singing): Two turtle doves SKARLOEY AND EVERYONE ELSE INCLUDING ADELINE(singing): and a Partridge in a Pear Tree! BTW Ivo Hugh's VA has a very good singing voice.
hopefully the road of healing for Adeline can start and she can get what memory she can of her memory back thats still missing if not atleast be able to move on from what happened
Now this, just brings on a more sense of completion to the story, and it ties it all in! Fills in the connections between Ghost Train, and Duncan Gets spooked perfectly! Absolutely fantastic WNW, I can’t wait to see what you have in store next, Also… did I see Gordon with German style smoke deflectors at 7:27? Or is that just me? Surely I can’t be the only one to notice that right?
Great episode I didn't think that goose's identity was percy and it makes sense in retrospect and I'm glad we know what happened to adeline and I'm looking forward to the next episode
Well at least we learn who Goose was no other then Percy and we now know the story of Adeline making the decision to sacrifice herself at the Old Iron Bridge.
Nothing short of fantastic, WNW. Last week, we see Adeline rescued, but we know we’re still a long way from learning the truth. This week, we find out what happened to her back in 68, but that final line tells us there are STILL things to find out. Cliffhanger at its finest. Personally, I think the questions left to ask is: what was that silhouette Duncan saw on the bridge? Or did he simply imagine it, since we now know there was no ghost? Who were those saboteurs? Also minor nitpick, if those trucks at Cros-ny-Cuirn were found gone, then returned, shouldn’t their insides have been checked, thereby discovering the bomb? So it turns out Mr. Peter Sam actually told the engines the truth the night Adeline crashed, only except the explosion part, since he couldn’t reveal the contents of the trucks. Mr. Roger Sam mentioned it wasn’t really geography that prevented Adeline’s rescue back then, or is it that the MOD wants to cover the fact there have been an explosion? Rusty did mention they checked the bridge the very next day, and the tracks weren’t damaged at all. Did Jack Western and the MOD ppl replace the rail they set loose after Adeline fell? If that’s the case, I can’t imagine what Jack went through. It’s no doubt he confided in Percy: the only one that’s both cleared to know the secrets, and a genuinely kind soul. Finally, Duncan and Sir Handel’s characters are so, so well done. Duncan is still brutally honest and blunt, and yet is far more capable of being considerate; Sir Handel may have a short temper, but that means he wouldn’t hide that he’s LIVID at the injustice of Adeline’s ordeal. It’s actually frustrating to see Peter Sam, Duke and Skarloey shutting him down, tho Duke did vouch for Sir Handel by relating HIS own experience with Adeline’s. That was a heartfelt moment. Goodness, this comment is wayyyy overlong XD As always, looking forward for more from you, WNW!
I'll be honest, I thought the "mystery goose" would be Duck. Get it cuz, duck duck goose? But now that I think about it, that would be a bit too obvious for military codes. Your very clever!
I've just re-watched Ode to George Carlin which was released on the 3 of October 2014. Which said Duncan would be in his TV series livery (to quote Duncan and George Carlin) a little while. I'm guess he isn't returning to his previous livery with him still in the TV series livery.

I'm glad you came back to the scene, your stories were always great but I truly think you've been producing some of your best work since you returned from your hiatus.
Wow, this episode has explained and solved some of the mysteries, I’m it sure if it’s gonna be the finale of it, but you did a marvelous job on this part along with the others that took part.
A great finale to Adeline the Phantom Engine
It's not over yet, 2 more episodes to go.
Gordon is now an A3, at 7:26 you can see him going by with some trucks and he has smoke deflectors.
Didn’t expect Goose would be Percy. I partially thought it was Peter, but then I realized it couldn’t be him since he was in the tunnel the whole time and it couldn’t be before since all the engines on Sodor did not meet him until the year I was born on.
Wow, Percy was Goose this whole time? Who would’ve guessed?
Anyway, nice tying the events of ghost Train and down the Mine into this. Keep up the great work!
Wow! That's brilliant well done!it's so sad that Adeline and her old driver would never be reunited tho. Very well done with this story and for account in general
Just sat thru the first 4 episodes you produced. Steller work WnW. Glad to finally see you back in action, and great job with this!
Please keep up the amazing work. The tie in from so many stories into this series is fantastic, down the mine Duncan gets spooked. Can't wait for the next one. It's this kind of work that keeps Thomas and his friends going for so many.
is it just me or does sir handel seem so damn protective of adaline is as if he has feelings for her or love her or something but its nice to see him like that for adelien to be honest
At the risk of sounding like a broken record, stellar job as always everyone.
This was incredibel, i also saw that a few fan theory were made true, good job NorWestern, you've got fans from Brazil
7:28, am I right to assume the story of Gordon getting smoke deflectors will be coming up in a future story?
This is one of the best trainz video series I've ever seen keep up the amazing work dude and I can't wait to see your of future projects!
7:27 ok sinds when does Gordon have smokedeflectors? Just noticed it in the background.
Since the last 3 episodes.
Love this series so much, big fan mate. 👍
THAT CERTAINLY EXPLAINS EVERYTHIN' QUITE INSANELY CLEAR!!!
OUTRAGEOUSLY OUTSTANDIN' WORK!!!
Well done! I honestly thought Goose was gonna be Duck lol
Another great episode! Looking forward to even more wonderful stories😁
What a great episode I really loved it and loved that it came from Percy lol please keep up the great work
thank you WildNorWester for this story it is really great to know what happened to Adeline. keep up the great work bud and take care + stay safe.
True. I got the 'glowing' thing from it being used in early glow-in-the-dark paint. Later realised that was actually radium.
man oh man I was so excited when this video cam out. keep up the good work Engineer. hopefully you don't mind me calling you Engineer. it has a nice ring to it
Man your videos are so good keep doing what you love and do not stop and you will go so far
1:44 That's not the type of car i'd expect to see on Sodor, let alone in the more rural Skarloey area.
Loved it and loved how the plot was layers with questions answered 🙂 looking forward to more of your work soon or near future 🙂👍
All this time, the engines just had to ask Ivo Hugh how the song "Twelve Days of Christmas" goes, then they could have avoided a... wild *goose* chase!
🤯 that was amazing, can’t wait to see more like one more episode where she eventually pulls trains ,and gets over her fears as the final episode for starting the next mini series.
There's 2 more episodes left.
The way sir handle acted about adaline,
I think someone has a crush~ 😉
A fine conclusion to a well-written and entertaining four-part episode!
This set of storyes started with Ivo talking about christmas. . .and ended with a christmas song. . .wow. . . nice writing!
A true railway Hero her sacrificed her life for everyone and act of true hero
Well, that throws the theory of Duck being Goose out of the water. Still I hope Adeline recovers and would be able to cross that bridge one day.
Once again another fantastic episode. Great flashbacks to Ghost Train and Down The Mine and Adeline's backstories were interesting too. Looking forward to Past Tense next week.
R I P, ADELINE'S FORMER DRIVER KNOWN AS JACK!!!
The call back to "George Carlin" an how Duncan change alittle because of him was a nice touch.
We'll be hearing a bit more of Mr Carlin in a couple of episodes ;-).
That was a masterful conclusion. Beautiful, sweet, and a little sad but gives you hope. I can't wait to see the upcoming season.
5:21 this is the only time i agree with falcon over grandpuff
This Adeline the phantom engine miniseries feels like a sodor the modern years six-part movie
This part about helping Adeline bring back her memories is a good one.
Keep up The Good Work WildNorWester
As of What Else Adeline Think She Have Lost of Her Past That a Story For Another Day
I hope there's more stories because from now on I'm calling her "Adeline the hero", sacrificed herself and for that she earns that title.
This series on adeline is a 7 part series
Ivo sure likes singing Christmas carols it's kind of cute.
I think it would have been hilarious if the other engines had finished Ivo Hugh's remark with the last four lines of “Twelve Days of Christmas” like this:
SIR HANDEL(singing): Four calling birds
PETER SAM (singing): Three French hens
RHENEAS(singing): Two turtle doves
SKARLOEY AND EVERYONE ELSE INCLUDING ADELINE(singing): and a Partridge in a Pear Tree!
BTW Ivo Hugh's VA has a very good singing voice.
hopefully the road of healing for Adeline can start and she can get what memory she can of her memory back thats still missing if not atleast be able to move on from what happened
These episodes are very entertaining
12:40 the screen gets fuzzy a bit as the radioactive rocks go by, just noticed it.
Now this, just brings on a more sense of completion to the story, and it ties it all in! Fills in the connections between Ghost Train, and Duncan Gets spooked perfectly!
Absolutely fantastic WNW, I can’t wait to see what you have in store next,
Also… did I see Gordon with German style smoke deflectors at 7:27? Or is that just me? Surely I can’t be the only one to notice that right?
No I did too when did he get those??
Six geese a’laying and seven swans a swimming! Of course! Wester, you clever devil.
Great episode I didn't think that goose's identity was percy and it makes sense in retrospect and I'm glad we know what happened to adeline and I'm looking forward to the next episode
me to i thought it was duck
Well at least we learn who Goose was no other then Percy and we now know the story of Adeline making the decision to sacrifice herself at the Old Iron Bridge.
More twists and turns to this plot then a Col Stephens railway!
17:14 @Wildnorwester, Would I be right in guessing that will be meeting Alan in the very next mini series “Mainline Engines Again?”
Nope, we won't be meeting him properly for a while. His appearance here is mainly to establish his presence as a recurring visitor to Sodor.
this was pretty good.good job
With the phantom Duncan saw, it was just his imagination playing tricks on him.
5:25 Why does that sound so much like the "I was over on the bench" comedy routine? I forget who did it, but it sounds similar.
John Mulaney? I see the resemblance, but it wasn't intentional.
Pretty much.
@@WildNorWester I've just thought of something. Out of the original and remastered versions of Desperate Measures which is actually cannon to your series? The original started it all but the remastered introduced Adeline and she mentions the events of the remastered version to Duncan in Last Train.
@@danielbibbey Both. They don't contradict each other.
Once again WildNorWester, you prove why your stories are the best of the best. Even though the mini-series is not complete yet, this story has had a wonderful run so far. And if things paused here, or just flat out stopped, I would satisfied with the story you have given us and have felt closure. That being said, I am course about a few things. Is the mine still open? If so, who exactly are the customers still? If it is closed, did it close right after Adeline's accident or long afterwords?
They stopped in the early 1990s. Harris mentioned a year in part 2, but I can't recall it off the top of my head.
amazing work
My birthday is today and this seems like a birthday present to me!
