First outing of the year!! Gotta love it. Be glad it was a chipmunk and not a evil marmot that likes to eat thru tents and packs for food!!! Nice to see the fairer one out with you.......
So glad it was a chipmunk and not a marmot!!
Flip-flops. I love it! Cheers!
Is fire 🔥 allowed year round? Some images show a rock stove w fire 🔥 crossed out 🚫. Did you need a permit?
What's not to like about this, great production and a nice way to spend a couple of days.
Welcome back, man. Great video as always.
P.S. F*ck COVID-19. Nature calls ...
Lovely
One thing about your channel Scott, you can tell you really love hiking and especially the Sierras.
Quality of your productions just keeps getting better and better. Two thumbs up. Good to see you back out there. Happy trails bro.

Black bart chili has made many appearances on this channel! This is a very relaxing video, thanks!
I love it!!!!
Alpine air please sponsor me!😜
This reminds me of a Hamms beer commercial
Great first hike. Unlike all of your Sierra hikes, been there, done that! I remember back in the late 70s-early 80s, even on a weekend you might be the only car parked below. Did you visit Mt Islip while you were close?
It’s a nice little gem in the Angeles for sure. The previous weekend I went up to Islip, but not with the wife :)
@@Sheety33 If you have never seen the Cucamonga Wilderness you should try it. If wifey doesn't want to hike have her drop you at Icehouse Canyon and pick you up in Lytle Creek. Beautiful country. Sample Cucamonga Peak enroute.
I thought you may have been in that area, when I saw the chipmunk footage. 😂🐿 Good timing cause this weekend brought a nice surprise rain. I was going to head up to do BP this morning, but called it before heading out of SD, due to the rain. Wasn't sure if there'd be more ice at the top, and I'm still waiting on microspikes.
On another note; I enjoyed watching the basics of camp, in this video. Felt like I was doing it all myself, which I SO miss right now!
I think BP is snow free right now. Almost went up there this morning myself!
@@Sheety33 It was a zoo around Vincent Gap!
@@robertwaite9742 I was just reading that. Everyone's been eagerly awaiting to get out again, especially with the road now open. I've noticed a lot of the trails overcrowded, over the last few weeks.
Isn’t ANF still closed for camping?
Most campgrounds are closed. Hike-in / backpacking campgrounds are open. Check the forest service website.
Hey man couple questions about a first timer here. What's your email? Or insta
Scottie_f_p
Thought LJ was still closed, per ANF. How did you guys manage that? Or did you guys just ignore the rules? Good to see people out but just though backpacking and overnights still not allowed. Plus you guys had a fire too? Man...thought campfires weren't allowed as well!! There's a ban on it.
Little jimmy is open per forest service website. The forest is open, including hike-in / backpacking campgrounds. We obtained a campfire permit and had a small fire in accordance with national forest policy.
Interesting...still says closed here. www.fs.usda.gov/recarea/angeles/recarea/?recid=82790
