    Got mine in 2005, with 24k km on it, it's always been a good companion, now has 72k km on the clock. The only modification to it is an automatic chain oiler which I can highly recommend.
    Repairs and maintenance out of schedule: One steering head bearing, one reg/rec and re-greased the handlebar switches. 25 year old grease becomes glue-ish.
    I'm using E10 over the summer, never had problems with that. Before the winter, the fuel gets replaced by premium, ethanol-free fuel and the tank gets filled up to the max. Starts on first attempt in the spring, no corrosion inside the tank at all.

    I got mine about a year ago as well. It had been off the road since 2013 so needed a good a bit of work, battery, tyres, brakes rebuilt, fork seals etc. I'm in for about the same as you money wise. I absolutely love mine, great engine, comfortable and handles well. They are a bargain bike IMO. 👍

    The joys of older bikes, cheap to buy and run, but there are always a few gremlins to sort out.

    Regarding the minor hiccup when your VFR cut out as you slowed down and stopped. The 1982 Honda 250RS I bought 3 months ago, started developing the same thing and I checked the HT lead and spark plug cap. Guess what, there was a crack in plug cap and on removal a piece broke off it. I have replaced the plug cap and HT lead and all seems fine now. Worth a look on your VFR.👍

      it did it that once and not again for the rest of the 3 hours or so i was riding that day and has not done it since. so not a clue what happend maybe the carbs might need a look at later on

    My 1994 VFR kept cutting out and it turned out to be a dodgy ignition switch. I've got Maxxis tyres and they're great 👍

    I like the VFR, but nice examples seem to command high prices around here. Maybe one day!

      2-3k is about what you need but it's still a great deal especially as you can usually find them with all the luggage boxes as well.

      After you replied, I took a look and did see a few closer to that range. I was likely looking at low miles examples in the past!

    Hi ! I am buying Vfr 750 rc36 it’s very hard to find with less than 70 tkm. Vfr 800 is a different Tex category. I know if the maintenance is done correctly i can double the mileage. I had Honda vf750f 20 years ago. Good bike but the rear shock is terrible. How many miles your Vfr have ? Do you have OIM rear shock ?

    • @BigPezza
      @BigPezza  Рік тому +1

      as far as i know i have a stock rear shock and there ment to be pritty good as long as you are not 20 stone, prehaps the rear shock you have got has lost all its oil over time? i have around 60k on the clock now

      @@BigPezza I don’t know. I’m pretty sure that was the production problem on the VF750f. Mine was production year 84 Model 85 It was in meant condition original . Red white pearl color. 24 or 25 tkm The guy I bought the motorcycle from kept the motorcycle in the living room… that was my first big bike. I was pretty young and green then and I didn’t have the money for the new shock. So I put another used one. It was better but not much. I saw a few VFR750 rc36 with rear Öhlins shock. It’s probably because of the weight as you say. 2 persons + baggage. Thanks for answering ! Godspeed

      84 is like a 1st gen alot different to my one

      @@BigPezza O i’m sorry if I confused you ! I know that VFR750 is totally different bike. I always wanted VFR750 rc36/2 I like the VFR800fi 98-22 I live in Croatia. Here is the VFR750 96,97 and the VFR800 01,02 very similar price. Differences may be 500€ But the tax from 749cc-999 cc is 150€ more. That is ridiculous. Four 34c more displacement. I’m paying that for Suzuki gsxr 1000 k6 that has like 185hp… Anyway, when Honda went for v-tech and chain on the 2003 model Honda disappointed many people, including me. I don’t know if you tried, but that first model with with v-tech is very strange, funky to drive… What do you think? Should I get VFR800fi 01,02? I know that fuel consumption is almost 1L better.
