Hey Dr. Greg, I had a frenectomy procedure of the upper lip before getting my braces and I now have a scar in my gums where my frenum was, is there anything I can do about the scar?
I do the same thing 😂😂😂. If you want to make sure you’re doing above and beyond regular care; watch the videos of people in UK with bad hygiene. It freaked me out so bad, I went on Amazon and bought dental supplies for home, work and travel 😂😂😂
Hey you forgot to mention to ALWAYS rinse your mouth out with water after every meal. Getting all the chunks of food out every time helps tremendously. After every meal I do that and look throughly to make sure there’s no other particles that could be stuck or visible. It helps with bad breath, appearance & makes it even more easy to brush
I use a combination of things for my braces that I think works quite well. I brush with a mechanical brush, use a water pick. After that I use interproximal brushes to get spots I might have missed. Then I floss. My teeth have been spotless since I started this routine.

Keep doing what you're doing and just come back after the braces are off unless something else comes up and you think you need to come in before then."

I just wanted to thank you for recommending PLATYPUS ORTHOPAEDIC FLOSSER for braces. This made a huge difference in cleaning between my teeth. I also use a water pic flosser. It was very difficult to floss the back teeth but now I feel great. Thank you for the advice.

Yes I have a waterflosser!! Best thing I ever bought, Should’ve had one sooner tbh. Mine is from smile direct (bought it at Walmart) and I love it!! I charge it once a month and it lasts for a very long time. I had the hand held one from waterpik and it didn’t last long at all!! It eroded Wouldn’t recommend at all!!!

I always bring my waterfloss. every after meal I always use it (even if I'm in restaurants because it makes me uneasy that there might be something in my braces) waterfloss are the best!!
If we just clean our teeth with normal regular manual brush and just floss and mouthwash Is it good enough or electric brush or something else is important????
I think it is good enough. My ortho didn't recommend me using electric toothbrush while I'm in braces. I used them before braces and it was good but then she said no so yeah. Now I just use manual toothbrush with soft bristles that was made for braces and it works just fine as long as I'm using the right technique and I just use Oral-B superfloss at night.
Either one hour after you eat or just before. Brushing fills the tubules and protects enamel while you eat. When you eat, the acids from food and bacteria demineralize the teeth, making the enamel easier to scrape off. After about an hour, the pH normalizes and the teeth remineralize. So either before you eat or an hour after.
A waterpik was not enough for me in my orthodontist Actually didn't recommend it. When I started oil pulling with certain essential oils, it made a world of difference in my mouth. My gums healed up nicely and they stop bleeding. I will never stop oil pulling now.
