T&D were misled and chose a pure ice dance program Astaire & Rogers style. T&D have a mutual passionate love affair with Ice Dancing which keeps them together on the Ice for almost 50 years! As Sade sings, "this is no ordinary love" and on the ice it is the very soul of love. It is a true love, more so than most of us have ever known. But even so, I cannot be jealous for they have given us a glimpse of something rare and beautiful, so beautiful that it can make my heart ache and the tears flow down my face.
I'm going through a Torvill and Dean craze these last few days and have been watching their youtubes. I think Chris has given Jayne a huge part of his heart. No matter which woman Chris is with, this woman simply cannot occupy the space which Jayne does in Chris' heart and life. When ever I see them together on TV these days, it seems to me that Chris would absolutely go for Jayne. But I think she is married with 2 kids so ...
I just saw this....You said what I've been thinking too. I think Chris has loved Jayne for a long, long time and Jayne loves him too but honestly, I think she was probably the one who said...lets not make this romantic...because he's so intense and their careers were so important to them both. Its like a tragic love story that proves that sometimes love really isn't enough. I think they passionately love each other but due to their skating it just wouldn't have worked. I think Jayne is the only woman Chris has ever really loved because she can handle his personality so well and I think Chris cherishes that. I mean, I could be totally wrong...but I don't care what anyone says...there is acting for a performance and then there is insane chemistry that doesn't lie...and they have INSANE chemistry. Strange how their labour of love for figure skating led them together but only workwise. How did Jayne manage all these years his physical nearness, the love in his eyes, the truthful acting of love on ice (making us all believe it) and not having his heart?
