The love of my life passed away 2 month ago. I believe true love comes once in a lifetime. I would have never passed on that. Nothing can replace that in life. You can see how much Chris has love Jayne from the beginning and he still does
I agree Margaret...they will never be replaced and makes me cry that they cant live their lives together, but sooo happy to see even now in their 60’s they are the best and we know they love each other .
A really breathtaking loving friendship It's stood the test of time. You can see and feel the loving friendship between them. This is a lasting friendship, I envy them.
Thank you for this gorgeous and revealing compilation. From the look in Chris' eyes during numerous clips of their post-performances, I believe if Jayne had EVER given him a flicker of a green light on a romantic relationship, he would have been on it "like a duck on a June bug" (as we say here in the South).
We know now they are acting but it does not matter I feel sure they do love one another in their own way. There are as many types of love as their are stars in the sky. It is the emotion, imagination & perfection, they have brought this art to another level. The amount of hard work they have done to achieve this level unmatched by any other ice couple no matter how attractive others are or how good their technique no one is better than Torvill & Dean. In a hundred years they will be looked back as innovators & simply look brilliant together. A perfect match in every way.
I only just found out that the iconic beginning of "Bolero" (on their knees) was put in because Chris and the music arranger just could not cut down Ravel's "Bolero" any more; it was still too long for the Free Dance; but Chris found a rule that said that the actual 'dance' didn't start until their ice skate blades made contact with the ice; thus, he started the choreography on their knees so that he could 'fit' into the time requirement. :) So wonderful that Chris did the fantastic (and very different choreography) for Savchenko and Massot 2018 Pairs Long Program (which won Gold at OG & WC) and for Papadakis and Cizeron 2018 Short Dance (and he chose the music, too, and only worked with them for 3 days!), which won 2018 OG Silver Medal (only because of costume 'malfunction') and 2018 World Championship Gold Medal (and World Record score!).
Amazing comp!!! Well done!! Where is the clip of the practice of encounter from at 1.54 I've never seen that!! I agree with everyone! Jayne at 2.10 is so cute!!! Bless her!!
@kellenn33WTD Yes it's from 1994. Called Entertainment Tonight Profile. I actually just looked and I don't see it either so I'll upload it over there now.

I totally agree with your post. Years have passed but they love each other. You can't hide the fact how happy they are around each other.
They live together in their way 👌
You can see and feel the love that has grown through the years between these two.
A really breathtaking loving friendship

I’ll never forget Betty Callaway’s words after they did Bolero..She said ‘I don’t think they realized that BOLERO was THEM ‘
Indeed, I remember such wise words ☺️

I think so too.

Flawless breathtaking performances by Torville & Dean. I'm so proud that they are British and so original in their stunning choreography.
Wonderful 😊
To be looked at and touched like that for 40 years…it must feel like love, regardless.

Wow! I have to breathe. Beautiful, Carol/ Thanks.
Thanks for the info. It's nice that they stayed in touch with Betty through all those years despite their on going professional success.
Watching them is watching them make art, make music, make love, and I mean that in the most respectful way.
