Dazzling! So many underperformed or unknown Italian Baroque composers. We need more recordings of Leonardo Leo, Giovanni Maria Clari, Pasquale Cafaro and many more.
Ariosti is wonderful, I really like 'La fede ne' tradimenti'. Would love to see more on this channel!

I can see why Zelenka thought fit to copy down and study some of his works - lively, energetic - and Italian.
Also 6:24 reminds me of Bach's Brandenburg Concerto No.1, third movement.
The opening is very similar to the opening of the sinfonia from Handel's Acis & Galatea. Is Ariosti one of those composers Handel knicked musical ideas from?
Ariosti and Haendel were friends and worked together in London. :)
@@SPscorevideos I just did a little research and found that Acis came first, so perhaps it was the other way around.
@@user-ol1ib1ss2b It was not unusual for composers back then to reference the work of others, as a form of compliment.
