It's hard to believe that I can hate Closer so much but fall in love with this cover.
why is there so much hate on this song? It's a typical radio song - it's not really better/worse than 99% of the songs that get played on the radio/charts

see, I don't even know who that is. Maybe that's why I don't have a problem with that song. I just hear it on the radio. I think it's quite catchy and I actually like it a little bit.

Ahahah I can barely multitask with anything else else in life, but for some reason the drums are the only instrument I'm proficient at and can play reasonably well :P

+Rex Ross Actually, it's not all covers - he is in a band called the Word Alive. I really enjoy their music, but Luke is great on pop music. Also, he's done side projects, I'm thinking specifically of the work he's done with Jason Richardson. But as far as being a cover drummer...nah. I would say more of a remix drummer. And he makes REALLy great drumming renditions, and or additions to the songs he does choose to work on. : )

@@skoomabuffer5665 Didnt really feel like he was ruining it because of that, in fact i would argue that the song needs that to show the the build of the bridge has a climax. otherwise the song feels bland and boring. Also one fill that is *slightly* over the top compared to most other youtube drummers including matt mcguire that just overplay the entire song. Dont get wrong i love watching that. But this requires more restraint is is what i would listen to on the casual.

What stack is that in the center of the kit? It almost looks like there's a Meinl bell as a part of it.
You're the master of overplaying... I don't mean absolutely in a bad way. It's just that you make a lot of notes fit musically within the song context and it just feels remarkably perfect. I truly admire the way you approach drumming, Luke.

luke, I have been watching your videos since your first couple of covers. your talent is truly amazing every cover and video you upload always blows my mind. I really hope to one day be able to see you perform live! but the recent videos you have been doing with Jason richardson and the animals as leaders covers have really been my favorites I know you probably get thousands of comments on your videos daily but it would be awesome if you could let me know how I can get my hands on a copy of the album you and Jason are working on! it truly seems to be like it's going to be one hell of an album! please don't stop doing what your doing and don't change a thing your doing you really are one of the only people I have followed their whole journey on UA-cam. hands down the best and most precise percussionist I've seen on here!
