In very VERY loving memory of Mrs. Sister Rosetta Tharpe (1915 - 1973 R.I.P. Gone but NOT forgotten) ... OMG. she´s a real guitar killer & wotawoman.
👊
Our Beloved Mother & Pioneer of Rock 'n Roll💯🙏🏾❤️!!
Such a beautiful and wonderful woman!
The Godmother of Rock & Roll!
Her playing that white SG Custom is just the coolest thing 😍
Mary Ford the wife of Les Paul used that particular guitar model..
Yeah! I’ve never really liked the look of Gibson SGs…except THAT model! White color, *three* humbuckers(!), gold-plated hardware. Michael Nesmith (of the Monkees) had one too.
Gibson makes a 1963 Reissue model in “Classic White” with three (UNpotted) Alnico III pickups: $6,699.
That was originally the new Les Paul model because the original single cutaway Les Paul's were not selling well at that point (hard to believe now). Les Paul, the well-known guitarist and innovator, was not fond of the new model and his name was removed from it after some time. In fact, Les Paul and Gibson parted ways in the mid 60s.
A national treasure!
WoW! the greatest have come and gone.
We still love on vid.
Man, she's shredding that guitar. This was when other artists were just getting started.

Top ONE...🇧🇷
I wondered where Angus Young learned that from.
Yup
Would be too much ask for tou colorize down by river side too the one version whit guitar solo.
That choir wasn't feeling Sister at all but the one lady on the left was enjoying herself you can tell by her clap
Makes you wonder what was going on behind the scenes. Regardless of how they may have felt about her on a personal level, how they can just roll their eyes and lazily clap during such an iconic performance is beyond me.
She sounds great, but I can't stand when backup musicians speed up throughout a song like that. It's amatuerish and sounds anxious and panicy. She was having trouble playing at the tempo near the end. Maybe why it cuts off.
