its the fact that the pediatrician had to make mom seem like a fool when she couldn't even get it out herself and made her child feel worse. glad he has a mom that will find solutions and make sure her baby is doing good.

That's what happens when you don't watch or teach your kids. I'm so tired of the bs narrative about this kind of behavior being normal. I was a nanny, foster parent, and a parent to my own kids and stepkids. Not a single one ever attempted to swallow random objects or shove them up their nose or in their ears......and I had foster kids who would literally bash their own heads against the walls because it's what they were used to.....or worse.

What was the Doctor's reason for the foreign object not coming out? My son's doctor used a small hand vacuum thing that pulled out a piece of dried corn he put up his nose when my mom let him play with the corn she used as bingo markers.
It was like a syringe that worked backward. Instead of pushing something in, it sucked things out. It took 2 tries but he got the corn out! Too bad they don't use those anymore.
The things kids do! I'm glad your little one is OK.

The hospital put him under anesthesia and took it out. Please, be concerned when a child has something going on with their nose and ears. Kids have a habit of putting things in these areas. Most parents have no clue until it’s infected or causes complications. The doctor needs to be reported for this. Once you probe you know something is obstructing the area. Unbelievable! OMG! We just learnt "Foreign Body in the Nose" two days ago in class and everything the doctor did, from their attitude to the placement of the child LYING DOWN??? Was wrong! She just went with the "booger" the mom said and didn't bother to do any investigations or probe further? Man...
Towards the end, when i saw them sit the boy on a chair and wrap his hands with the clothe, I felt more at ease because that was very similar to what was taught in class to prevent the child from squirming around and disrupting the process of removing the foreign body and ESPECIALLY to allow blood from trying to remove the foreign body to trickle down and not get into any wrong places. Thank goodness he got the help he needed. 😭

I don't understand all of this negativity towards the mother. She said it was affecting his breathing, and she's obviously doing a good job watching him if she notices these things. Good for her, sticking up for her son because she knew that something wasn't right no matter how over-the-top doctors thought she was being. You seem like a good mother who did the right thing, especially with a child so young who can't communicate most of what they feel, what they did, etc.

I read all of the comments and for those of you saying that she is just trying to shame the doctor, I disagree. How is the doctor going to look into a child's nose and not notice that it is a foreign object in that child's nose. Then when they attempt to remove the "booger' and can't they just let the child go home untreated.
This mother noticed a problem with her child. She watched the situation, attempted to treat the situation, sought treatment and didn't give up until the problem was resolved.
This mother did absolutely what she should have done for her child.

For those who don’t want to go to part 2, it was a peanut in his nose.

Poor little boy I hope he doesn’t get mad when they mention this

For those who are lazy, it turns out the boy had a peanut in his nose, snot covered and bloody.

This reminds me of the nightmarerish episodes my sis son was going through. Boy would be put different stuffs into his nostrils everyday, from meat, corn and peanut 😢. Neti pot isn't commonly used here 🇳🇬 so we had to use crochet pin or make him forceful blow his nose 😢. Those days made me scared of when I'll finally have my children 😢. Thank God your boy is fine ❤

Trust your intuition always. Sometimes you have to advocate for your child because you know when something is wrong. Poor baby. Glad he can breath now. Just ordered it on Amazon too
