Your nails are gorgeous 💖. In my opinion, from prior experiences with other press on nail brands. I prefer the thicker tips. The thickness actually delays the nails from wearing so quickly.
So they do them thicker because they are intended to be a one step extension. Like once they're applied you just top coat and then you're done. Unlike their regular gel x tips where you'd normally paint them with some gel polish usually a couple coats then a top coat so that adds strength. Btart box started the trend of pre styled tips so all you need is a top coat and you're done and btart box definitely has a thicker free edge. Although I will say that the apres ones look way thicker than the btart box ones and they do seem like they'd be a little too thick lol I also feel like that thickness is making the square shape look a little bit off, not so much from the top but looking at them from the side and then straight down the nail they just look a little bit off. I love the idea of these tips so so much, but like you said they are a little bit thicker than needed. I think btart box really did it with theirs. The thickness is perfect so you can just top coat and be done and they're thick enough that they won't bend or break, I think apres made theirs just a little bit too thick. I love how your nails came out though! I think this length and sharp square looks absolutely stunning on you!
I do get that they need to be thick enough to wear on their own, but I thought they were unnecessarily thick! lol. I’m going to have to check out the Btart box ones. Now that I’m in the office more often, I have less energy to do my nails but I don’t wanna go in with plain nublets lol
Thank you so much for this video! I really appreciate your honest feedback of each product. I just ordered the Ombré kit with the natural medium coffin nails! After watching your video I’m more excited (and confident) that I can do this! I agree with you about the thickness on these nails. However, looking at the coffin nails online, they do not appear to be that thick but I do see the thickness on the square tips you are referring. I too prefer a thinner tip, but I’ll see when they’re delivered. I’m also looking forward to my nail beds getting healthier too. I’ve been doing press ons with nail glue for the last few months and although they look amazing, my nail beds are trashed! It’s one of the reasons why this system appealed to me … and the fact my nails are less likely to pop off at the most in opportune time! lol Looking forward to your next APR’ES tutorial !
I LOVE the brushes on their polishes! That top coat looked so easy to apply because the brush was nice and thin and I felt like it was a little bit longer than normal too. I may have to invest in their top coat lol

Makes sense! I guess if I were planning to wear the tips for a couple weeks it would make more sense

Can’t wait to hear what you think of them!!

I really did like the top coat! I didn’t wear for longevity so I can’t speak to that, but it was nice
Wow! I'm so glad you reviewed these tips! That's way too thick on the tips for me too, no matter how cute they turn out.
I was super surprised by the thickness!
Oh these are nice. Thanks for sharing 😍💙
Glad you like them!💜
Maybe do a bit of efiling on the underside of the tips to thin them out?
That’s a good idea. If I wear these again, I just might give that a try!
Zz plant, peace lily, orchids and dracaena
Is the novice gel super similar to the non-sticky builder gel from west coast dips?
Very similar, but maybe a little thicker than the NSBG

I’m definitely curious to know if the thickness varies between shapes!
