As someone who’s literally just packed her whole house up ready to move, I seriously can’t believe just how much stuff I still have… I’ve been decluttering for a while now and yet there’s still far too much 📦📦📦
It’s amazing, isn’t it? Keep going! It’s worth it for the simplified life you deserve! 🌟

@@kristieshoemake7343 My mother in law lived through this (house to condo) and let go of SO much and then still had lots to sort through and figure out. One thing that saved her was having 2 storage units in the basement (rather than one), but one was mostly for their camping and other seasonal stuff.
Your commentary on not turning away from the sadness of time passing is helpful to this mama.

I recently had to move unexpectedly and due to the housing crisis, the only unit that was available was a one bedroom, even though I needed and we were coming from a two bedroom.
Nothing will show you that you have too much stuff as unexpectedly needing to downsize and not having the time, energy or opportunity to declutter ahead of time.
I’m currently on my way to the library to donate two _packed_ 25L clear recycle bags, full of cloth grocery bags. Fortunately, they take them as a donation, to give out to people who are carrying books. I used to donate plastic grocery bags years ago, before they were banned, but now have an excessive accumulation of cloth bags. What really gets me is the amount of money I’ve wasted on these, likely a couple of hundred dollars, due to my disorganization and poor planning.
I’ve kept my four favourite high quality grocery bags, plus an additional bag to have for the beach. That’s all that I realistically need.
It feels good to get rid of the rest.
I love and appreciate how you get into the psychology of it. Those changes are life changing, as opposed to what everyone else knows what to do intellectually.

Haven’t been watching you for awhile because we’ve been on the road. But since we are going back “home”, (home is really on the road, we take our home with us) I need to empty that place out! So I enjoyed the pep talk and need to make this time count while I’m there. Thanks!

I get it!!! Working with humans can be so stressful sometimes; especially in pressure cooker environments and managing all the personalities. I want my house to look serene and fresh when I get home. And when you have selective focus and hyperfocus on mess....geesh!!! Found myself organizing calendars at the pharmacy last week while I waited. Thank you for all you do--and it's important to know all you are trying to juggle and still put out fantastic content ❤

Hi Robyn that is great that you became a nurse in your 30's Love your videos love your enthusiasm. We moved in 2023 and retired.I decluttered so much stuff.We have a 1200 sq ft home and d loce it. There is not a lot of room for clutter. I tell people if you are not using it on a daily basis get rid of it. I like tea as well.When I have to clean or do things I don't want to do I tell myself just get it done and then you can go do something you like.That seems to work.Keep the videos coming.

I can't stand it when people say, "But what about X job...!" when you're speaking from your experience and not that of a different job that you don't happen to have- especially when you're speaking about YOUR job on YOUR channel and how it affects YOU and YOUR family. Those people need to go sit in the corner and think about why it is they feel like they need to open their mouths and dump their misdirected crap into other people's spaces.
