What was different about this than other dramas is showing a girl going after her dreams and achieving it, while it was the guy who had to sacrifice by conforming (changing) to societal expectations, accepting, adapting, and embracing responsibilities, despite having his own dreams. Nice to show that its not the gender of a person that decides whether you achieve your dream or compromise, rather it is circumstances and priorities that help one choose his or her rightful path. Very right. We hear many stories about women sacrificing their dreams for the sake of marriage and motherhood. However very little is said of men, many of whom stifle their creative sides for the drudgery of 9-5 jobs to put bread on the table for wives and kids, provide for elderly parents, get sisters married etc or in this case be a successor to his father against his own will and wishes
The one thing I love about this drama is its comment section too. The comments under every episode of this drama were so critical and relatable at the same time. People were having proper discussions about the characters, director and writer. They were driving different narratives from the nuances of storytelling. It was the most lively comment section ever. It is the success of Green TV that brought such narratives which led people to evaluate their critical thinking which all those overly hyped dramas from popular channels can never bring. Kudos 👏🏻

I'm happy for Mirza, at the end, he got stage and his talent accepted.... Ending of drama is perfect in which unlike traditional fictional stories, they didn't show lovers ending their careers to persue love, both of them, Zara and Kabir, accepted each other and decided to move on.... It was good to see Zara continuing her career instead of becoming wife of Makhdoom Sb and spending whole life in the corner of house...

Standup girl was one of the ever best dramas produced in our Pakistan. Absolutely amazing a story, fantasy, reality, comedy, pain, tragedy, family, friendship, work place, traditional things, modern world, cultural things or social media ..... you name it and it had it. what a masterpiece. brilliant writing, flawless performances, not a single character was lesser than the lead roles. superb directions. God !!!!!! This one drama can be part of the books/ literature on Lahore for all times to come. Historic drama. Thanks a lot for such a pleasure.
Throughout this drama I thought my favourite characters are Zara’s family and johri for supporting Zara and Kabir’s passion…. But now that the drama has ended I’ve realised that Kabir is the real hero here… this man 1) helped open cafe for johri and gave stage for artists 2) made great music but his friend betrayed him and took his music to get fame 3) helped Zara to pursue her dream… he became her driver who would offer her ride everywhere… he offered snacks and mosquito spray from other side of the wall when she was in hostel. Helped her get out of her depression from her mother’s death. 4) he completed his parents dream and took over all the work which they wanted him to do 5) when his caretaker passed away who was like a mom figure to him he was shattered into pieces but still stood up and gave that caretaker’s daughter a roof to stay in his house 6) he was loving and helpful guy for Zara’s family 7) he helped hundreds of villagers to solve the problem And what did Kabir get for all this? He lost his career he lost his love interest and the worst part he lost himself! His eyes and smile lost the spark which they had before entering politics. People hated his character throughout this drama saying that “when Kabir’s part comes we feel like skipping the story” but man he is the REAL CHAMP here! Danyal you did so justice to this character. Be it the flirty side, happy side, emotional side, angry side, jealousy side you portrayed every emotion naturally! I usually don’t write such long messages but man if someone is doing great work I can’t help but appreciate it! Salute hai yar Kabir and danyal both ❤
I also think the same way ....he was the real narrator of the storyline ....but I knew it from the first episode...that he will be the main person in the story...his silence and mysterious personality were the main highlights.... Which changed after meeting Zara...a complete contrast personality... He became more expressive but after her going away.. everything changed again.Danyal performed the role of Kabir to perfection.

He was also on a self searching journey and so were viewers. the final shape turned out to be an absolutely gem.
Excellent drama and excellent ending. I loved the closure between Kabir and Zara. The fact that he knew perfectly well she is never going to adjust in that environment, so rather than being selfish and bounding her, he very sincerely told her to go and pursue her career. Loved it!!
Well, sometimes you have to give up your love in life for a greater cause and responsibility. This play story demonstrated to the current generation that you should not pursue your fantasies if you have bigger goals in life.

A fresh story despite some flaws... but like so many realistic things. Two important messages were delivered in the last episode: if youngsters like Kabir will start understanding the problems of the people who are suffering around them. Secondly, the idea of "co-existing" between older and younger generations is presented in a good way. Hats off to the writer Adeel Afzal and the whole team! Well Done!
My poor heart aches so bad for zara and kabir yet I have a smile on my face. Because that's a very mature and real ending. Some ppl can't chase their dreams the way they planned. Yet he stands there proud for zara. It was beautiful. What a wonderful show going Down in history ❤

Perfect ending..such an emotional episode..dil ko chu gaee..this is how the director held the story and it's characters and didn't give in to the greed of TV channels. If a director is strong and sticks to the script then we can make masterpieces like this drama. Awesome work..a memorable craft!!

Everything was fine about the concept that they are having a different lifestyle and can't be together.... But at the end scene when Kabir and Zara looked each other...... It was like O man, I can't imagine how can they live without each other.... In the whole drama the chemistry, comfort and the understanding they had with each other was so excellent.
Perfect climax. Finally Kabir proved his acting skills in the last episode 😂. A big hit. A round of applause to the whole cast and special applause to Mirza, Hina and Nana mian! We need more such serials ❤

What a mature ending this drama had. It showed that Ishq k elawa iss dunia mn aur bhi buhut kuch achieve krny k liye hai! Nana Mian and Zara’s jori was a hit from start and glad to see Zara finally realising it. Stand Up girl was amazing! The whole cast was prefect especially Zara’s family. I am planning on rewatching it. There were so many subtle moments and expressions that i missed the first time and only saw them during the drama "shorts". Everyone's acting was fantastic and it was so real. Truly felt like i know people like these in real life.

Coming together of two individuals in not a happy ending. Two people peacefully co-existing after a closure is very much needed too.

Perfect ending..such an emotional episode..dil ko chu gaee..this is how the director held the story and it's characters and didn't give in to the greed of TV channels. If a director is strong and sticks to the script then we can make masterpieces like this drama. Awesome work..a memorable craft!!

Everything was fine about the concept that they are having a different lifestyle and can't be together.... But at the end scene when Kabir and Zara looked each other...... It was like O man, I can't imagine how can they live without each other.... In the whole drama the chemistry, comfort and the understanding they had with each other was so excellent.

What an end!... I always wanted Naanu and Zara's jugalbandi and there it was... some great punches... the end ones were flat but they still fulfilled the desire!... Kabir's take on being there for his people was very heart warming that Zara had to accept!... and i am glad she accepted with a gracious heart!
