It would be, if Marist was even in the same league as Polamalu when he was in college or his first few years in Pittsburgh.
The only similarity is they are both Polynesian lol.

He quite literally does not play with smarts/instincts which is why he has a bottom 3% run stop rate

@@pdb6261Im a lifelong Cowboys fan, and I even agree. Hes got some athleticism, but if we are talking intelligence, then why was his tackle numbers so low, and his highlight reel so short?
Hes raw, but needs coaching. Athletic, yeah, but football IQ? Thats his worst skill coming into the pros.

    🔥 I like Marist Liufau a lot 🔥
He's got legitimate dynamic traits that are needful for a smooth NFL transition
And with DC Mike Zimmer overseeing his development...
He'll only make up where Notre Dame short-circuited his production/development, etc
Now I say this loosely bc due to how they used him,
He gained tons of experience in diversity and 🏈 IQ
⚡ He's quite the savvy disrupted that's not easily fooled at all 🌩

His twitch/quickness/reaction/explosion r all very special. Even without the hair flowing, he very much reminds me of Troy Polamu. I'm *not* saying he's a ballhawk or has a nose for finding the football. The way he moves, the way he diagnoses the play, can play almost everywhere on defense... He may not be Troy, but I see a great defensive player all the same.

Ummm…he hasn’t played a down yet, let alone a season. Tap the brakes on that legend talk. We’ll see once the season ends if he’s any good. Btw, Staubach, Pearson, Dorsett, Aikman, Irvin, Smith are among the Cowboy legends.

At least he makes up for not getting Wilson or Cooper! As a Packers fan, I love that Cooper fell in our laps but this LB was sorta on the radar that GB coulda gotten if they didn’t go the Cooper or Hopper routine! Micah Parsons gotta be in love with this guy’s athleticism! Cowboys got a good LB

But he's his own person and what he's bringing he's going to bring his own style and on abilities on character but if he developed in that same mentality that Troy brought from the Steelers Dallas is going to have a dominant scary player

Your right Mazi has to step up and we're counting on Zimmer to put him in position to do so. I think his talent is there as far as run stuffing. Also I think we've gotten faster in the back...Our LBs are this Liaftu Overshown (Micha) Thomas and someone else...all pretty fast guys but still hard hitters. Hopefully thst DT we got late ...pray he's a diamond in the rough! A TB12 of DTs 😅😅😅

Man people throw around the teen “athletic freak” way too lazily.
This dude is NOT sole DK metcalf athletic freak. He’s not Micah parsons, he’s not even Dez Bryant as an athletic freak coming out of college. Especially in todays nfl where every LB basically runs a 4.6 or under, his athleticism won’t be such a plus in the nfl cause he isn’t some crazy specimen.

Man I think Payton Wilson would’ve been a better pick. Talk about athletic freak, and has insane instincts. I know the health concerns, but he hasn’t missed a game in two years. I think he’d be healthy for the most part on his first contract. Dallas doesn’t like to sign LB’s to long term deals anyways unless you’re Sean Lee.

    • @redtre125
      @redtre125 4 місяці тому +5

Payton Wilson is probably gonna end up like LVE meaning he's gonna be good but we've seen the injury before on players and I think they knew that there will be a high chance of more injuries to come due to the speed and the physicality of the NFL

@@kylemcneil4521 well like I was saying before, I bet he’ll play the majority of his rookie contract. Just don’t resign him. He has played without an ACL for 2 years and it hasn’t hurt his speed or athleticism. All I’m saying is, it’s a late 3rd round pick, get a good 2 or 3 years of good playing time out of him and move on.
