I will definitely have to get to Death on the Nile! I remember loving the 70s movie adaptation when I was young - and thinking it was much better than orient express at the time - and I had JUST noticed that is available on one of my streaming services. So that bodes well for doing a read/watch together.
Sorry about your election, a sad result. I read Murder on the Orient Express a couple of months ago and enjoyed it very much. It makes me want to take a train across Europe (Preferably without a murder).
❤ Glad to hear your check-in. Routine can definitely help when times are rough. I love the BBC Poirot series, although I haven't read almost any of the books. David Suchet is such a good Poirot!
You know, everyone always raves about Suchet, but I actually don't think I have seen any of his series! Maybe that will be one to hunt down for comfort. Excellent tip.
I'm sending hugs to all in the US who are struggling ❤ In regards to Poirot, in the earlier books, there is that Holmes/Watson dynamic between Poirot and Hastings, but he disappeared from the later books. I really enjoy their relationship.
Thank you, much needed e-hugs for sure, though the US have only ourselves to blame sadly. That's interesting to hear the earlier books have that, I will have to dive in some more with Christie because this was a brilliant time. I've also not seen any of the BBC adaptations, so I need to check for those too.
Definitely bursts of anger and bewilderment. Hope you are hanging on as well, this community is such a great source of compassion, it reminds me to have a sliver of optimism. And of course, books are always the best escape when we need it.
I understand and appreciate that many Booktubers that I watch are upset too. Thank you for posting. It helps us watchers too. My sister lives in Germany and won’t visit me here in America during this administration. I’ll be visiting her there. Take care.
I am sorry you are in that position. It is such a thorny situation all around, can't blame your sister at all, and you having the ability to go there might prove to be a positive. Unfortunately now we are all stuck with this for at least a few years, we can only do our best to keep moving forward with the situation we've got.
Glad to have you! I sure hope so, thankfully at least the 4 years of time will pass whether we like it or not, hopefully we come out alright in the end when we get there.
I’m so glad you enjoyed Orient Express. I’m a big Christie fan, especially the Poirot books. I highly recommend Death on the Nile as well.

@@ReadBecca Ooh yes, I loved both those '70s movies too. Such amazing all-star casts. A read/watch together sounds like fun!

Rough week. Low energy indeed, with bursts of anger. Hang in there!
