This mans brain is on another level. There cant be many people that think like him in terms of suspension and overall builds. Maybe Papadakis. Everyone else builds a car because someone else did it first and they saw that it worked.
I think Chelsea is definitely a skilled fabricator and amazing driver but saying he's a suspension genius I think is a bridge too far. He's said himself during this video and on his own channel while building this car its almost like it was setup from the factory to go drifting with a few tweaks. I'd applaud him for being the first to take then incredible setup Porsche engineers laid the groundwork for with the 718 chassis and turning it into a reliable drift machine. I bet you could task most of the major FD driver's teams with a task like this (hell even some smarter Car UA-camrs) and they would all eventually end up with something similar to this setup if not better.
@user-fn4cv6oh3g Chelsea has talked regularly about the vast majority of FD teams not knowing how to set up a car properly, most of them rely solely on tons of power and grip, but never really digging into the last 5% of optimization that takes some serious effort in development. Watch his newest interview with Lone Star Drift, he's says there's maybe 5 people that know how to really optimize a drift car. While I think that's a bit exaggerated, he's proven to be an expert at car setup
@user-fn4cv6oh3g the porsche engineers never intended for a cayman to be able to do what Chelsea's doing so it's irrelevant what they did in the first place. Chelsea is smart because he's been able to take something that was intended for lap times and make it slide like a pro car
Any video that has Chelsea Denofa in it is a must watch! Then to top it off with Larry Chen's filming and an epic porsche build!!! God damn chef's kiss right there!
Been waiting for an overview of this Cayman on this channel. 😂

How interesting, would never imagine this to be the chassis of choice. The moment of inertia is so much different from the typical front engine rear drive layout.... So many cool quirky things about this build! Very cool...
MR is an interesting drift choice. you should check out Kenny Chieu's MR-S. a lot of it is you need wayyy more steering angle to catch the oversteer, the suspension needs to be setup right, same for brake bias. It's a little harder w/ Porsche since there's not a lot of support due to the higher initial cost. Japanese MR-format vehicles were initially cheaper, but a lot of them are clapped out sh*tboxes these days. replacing old and worn suspension components cost as much as new race versions, so it was a lot cheaper to get into. But hey, now the 996 is in that price territory, you never know, we might see a resurgence in popularity of those cars in motorsports!
I’ve been doing renderings for the last month to do my cayman build. This got me so excited. Think Gunther works RWB Carrera GT and GT1 🤔 I was told to dream bigger so this is me trying that out
Damn Chelsea droppin some knowledge about the technical in's and out's of setting up a drift car. Pretty sick Porsche, I like the livery, probably cheaper that drifting a true r34 GTR, lol.
These 2.5 718's are sleepers. At limerock, a lot of guys run these and they rip! It's the same size and shape of my GR86 but mid engine and a lot more refined. Think about that...
Some racing wheels will have 2 vaves for nitrogen fill. One is where you apply pressurized nitrogen. The second one is to apply the vaccum to purge the air out. Although i doubt Chelsea is actually running nitrogen in his tires.
He lost me at no A/C... almost an awesome club sport, drift, drive it to and from the track car... almost. But I'd ditch a pinch of the audacity for a working A/C.
Am i the only person who isnt that impressed with drift? Does it take skill? Sure, but the ceiling is pretty low imo. Just another smokey burnout to me 🤷
Lets be honest, this man drifts anything with double the style all others do ❤

All he’s doing is using basic knowledge and fine tuning it, which with experience is easy to over come. He’s nothing special
Seriously. I'm always blown away by how knowledgeable and talented Chelsea is. Also super down to earth and chill. You can't not love the guy!

I see how Hert got Giga Chelsea without glasses for a normal interview vs Larry getting normal Chelsea with giga interview and drift footage!
Another huge hit. Always a refreshing alternative to the common motor content.
Been waiting for this video since July! This has got to be one of my favorite drift cars period. I'm glad to see you found it just as interesting.
The car and build are insane!
Cool build. Would be cool if you would insert a clip of the exhaust note when you were discussing the sound.
Porsche has the best chassis of the industry. Looks stock and full interior. Awsome.
This is literally the rich man's drift car. I dont think people realize that driving and drifting a porsche is a pretty big flex.

Some dude: "How much steering angle do you have?"
Chelsea: "Yes."
😁😁😁😁😁😁
15:16 "only 415-420 wheel" is pretty good if you think about the fact that the 992 GT3RSs get dynoed with that kinda horsepower to the wheels too

The Chelsea Denofa's drift car (Porsche Cayman) is simply beautiful!
The man is a genius 👏🏾
Watching your videos is like diving into an ocean of beauty. Thank you for this visual celebration!😜 ; 💜*
Accidentally clicked this as it was giving me the notification but I’m not disappointed
Formula Drift should bring Chelsea back in this for exhibition matches!
Only thing that will bring back myself and many more would be better judging 🎉
Damn Chelsea droppin some knowledge about the technical in's and out's of setting up a drift car. Pretty sick Porsche, I like the livery, probably cheaper that drifting a true r34 GTR, lol.
If he thinks about going back to FD again I would love to see him compete in the Porsche 🔥🔥🔥🔥💯
Well I can say this it's the second drifting Porsche I've seen that's used often the first being the hankook 911 GT2
I want this car. Top 10 cars featured on this channel
gr8 interview/ intro, we need to see it in FD next year pls
Love it. PRoper development and not like humbull or other sponsor builds that get showed once and never again.
I built caymans in forza horizon 4 for drifting. I'm glad someone has done it in real life these cars rip.

Waiting for RWB version of this 😂
Hey Chelsea, your genius is showing.
Stock motor 😮 no extra baffling, dry sump? Figured oil starvation issues might be present with stock motor
Benefit of starting with a Porsche … they do more work to make the cars track friendly.
Looks like it throws so much angle
Bro went full Nico Rosenberg.... 😂😂😂. Jk much love to Denofa!
Holy sideways
16:38 I misunderstood as “Taycan exhaust” and was super confused for a good couple of seconds.
@9:45 why are there two valve stems?
Motorsports so you can check the pressure while filling it up or releasing pressure.
718 is the perfect car. For everything, besides having a family maybe 🤣
🔥
16:38 Taycan Exhaust?! im pretty sure the Taycan is an Electric vehicle 🤔🤔
😂😂😂same thought
Theses cars are amazing stock not sure how he found a manual
why 2 air valves on front wheel?

Does this guy have a youtube channel
He is not the first to build a Porsche for competition back in the day in FD. They had to Porsches that were proper cars before Chelsea.
Lol 🤭 Drifting 😉
Well that’s why your battery was dead the passenger door was open.
You'd think a guy that spends time around car collections would know about trickle chargers.....😂🤣
gg
He lost me at no A/C... almost an awesome club sport, drift, drive it to and from the track car... almost. But I'd ditch a pinch of the audacity for a working A/C.
Why do the front rims have two schrader valves? Two tires? I know that some drag racers will run a double tire
Mid car and driver
Womp womp
@@tommysea605chomp chomp
Are you better? Let’s see your driving skills buddy. Oh wait you have none
You're right. He's only won one FD championship, not multiple like some guys. Mid af.
