Sean Champion-Taylor Spiritual means you believe in something more, whether it be a higher power, after-life, god, the universe being alive. It just basically means you believe in more then what you can perceive with just your 5 senses. Usually the difference between someone who identifies as spiritual and religious. Is a religious person usually gets their form of spirituality through a church or other people, not from them-self. While a person who is just spiritual, believes that it is just between them and the universe. I am the latter.
I respect that answer, so why not delve deeper? I have a friend who learns about herself through studying chemistry. Would a scientist also be considered spiritual?
As a child, I was terrified by the imagery and stories of the Christian Religion it haunted me for years making me feel guilty for being human. Doing Ayahusca was the most healing and spiritual experience in my 46 years of being alive it helped me to understand that I'm one with the universe and the love within me is one with the whole world.

Many of my "Christian" friends are on a crusade against Ayahuasca. My response is usually this: Why? How does it threaten your religion? Are you genuinely concerned about the spiritual development of others? Or are you worried about how it would diminish the power your religion holds on people?
Some of the shamans peru blow or pray their spirit guides on you. Involving spiritualism. And chants similar. They are big on spirits. And ayahausca is a spirit they shamans believe.
This video should have 7 billion views!! It's not just the President that needs to go through these sessions, it's everyone on the planet! Once that happens, we will all realize we are our own God and we will live in peace and harmony in this universe.

Welcome to Native American psychology. Further proof that our ancestors were advanced scientists. They had to perform analysis and studies to find the plants to combine to produce ayahuasca. It wasn't created by accident. They had to use the "scientific method" to derive our medicines and medicinal practices.
Jose Carcamo no. The indigenous will tell you that the PLANTS themselves told them to take the vine and the chacruna leaf and to boil them together and make the brew. They were and are ONE WITH NATURE and they LISTEN to what nature tells them. This is how they formed a library of plants that heal different things in the Amazon.
It wasn't created by accident, for sure. There are at least hundreds of thousands of plants in the Amazon, and they found just the right combination of natural MOA Inhibitor, and DMT containing plant. Not to mention having to find whether the flowers, bark, leaves or roots had the right ingredient, and whether orally, topically, or other "routes of administration" were required. And that vomiting and purging were a desireable part of the process, rather than indicating a poisonous nature (which would be the obvious conclusion of trying nearly any other "tea") The "scientific method" alone does not explain this discovery. I think it would be more correct to say that our scientists are extremely primitive "shamans" than the other way around.

we did our ceremonies in the hut where we slept at night, so they were calling it a Tambo. However, I was not aware that it was the core of the vine that was the source of the harmaline, thanks for pointing that out.

i was one of those spaced cadets, i freaked and bolted, the guides settled me down and in less than a minute healed me from severe PTSD, which i believe saved my life
One can start with very small amounts, in a safe setting, with a trusted friend. No need to blow yourself away on the first trip, unless of course you have great physical stamina and mental stability. But slowly building up and getting to really know this plant medicines' effect on you is far safer.
I had a disease called dystonia I was going mad trying to beat. It’s similar to Parkinson’s disease but I wanted my life back so bad I kept pushing through the ticks doctors tell you not to fight. Around the time I was starting to get somewhere I took ayahuasca a handful of evenings. The most powerful experience shut down the movement disorder and I was able to experience the same sensations that cause dystonic movements while the illness was unable to figure out how to do its thing. From this place I dug in deep and learned I shake (tremor) because of fear. Fear of pain. I worked on my perception of pain, making it a rule that pain should only serve to show me where something is out of place. These experiences did something drastic to my illness. The pain did not come back the same way, instead it transformed into something actually helpful. That was about a month ago. Everyday it takes less effort to accomplish more and more. Yesterday I deadlifted 300 pounds! For about a week I’ve been thinking I could get a pet time job no trouble now and plan to start putting in applications in about 2 weeks so long as things keep on going the way they have been!
Gods name is believed by many to be Yahweh or Yahua, and we have a miracles plant names Ayahuasca which has Gods name within it and a female presence, amazing, God is the Father and made everything through His Word, and the Mother is the Spirit of our earth....WOW Praise God you are so awesome.
TED bans Graham Hancock (2013) but allows Robin Carhart-Harris (2016) and Adam Oliver Brown (2014) to talk about psychedelics. So long as one talks about them in a particular language and format, they're allowed. OR, in response to the backlash, they've allowed a few psychedelic talks in. Who knows?
Ted talks are meant to show people a different way of thinking. But ironically they banned graham's speech. I have come to the conclusion these people that own Ted talks or have something to do with the general flow of information, don't want his ideas spreading. But Alas! I am going to Peru in November to experience it myself.
Interesting point. I might tentatively guess that Graham offers more negative criticism and pressure towards the current system and and highlights the immorality of state control over our consciousness'. Whereas Adam Oliver Brown, although taking away negative stigma for psychedelics, and using the language of recreational drugs along with that of science, doesn't have the same impact or far reaching implications.
Without drugs, but through remote viewing protocol meditations and other meditations, I have had some of these experiences, the clarity of vision, the colors, the depth and dimensionality, even the purge effect. One teacher laughingly told me, the 60’s were good to you! But i didn’t use drugs then either. I got information that I could not have, but did. I saw visions of the future, but did not understand them. Only in hindsight did they make complete and accurate sense. My fear held me back from seeking answers at the times, especially regarding the future. The past is not nearly as hard to face when i have strong intention of healing myself. More, I am required to be humble as I see events of the past from other perspectives beyond my own limited memory of them. Innocence, ignorance, misunderstanding, denial of culpability, anger with others, anger with situations prevent clarity. Letting go attachment to what I think or think i remember is another humbling requirement. Also, have compassion for oneself as well as others, no matter what is revealed. This is Earth School 101, lessons upon lessons, and hopefully evolution of spiritual life.

It's useful, because it'll push you to do positive things in your life, like quitting smoking or drinking, exercising, dieting, meditation, healthy and wholesome living. What ayawaska does is taking you through death and showing that everything is connected. It's scary because it so vast all-inclusive encompassing, dissolving all your boundaries and self-images (that's why it's so absolutely scary, not because of vomiting, although vomiting plays its role too :) It won't solve your problems, but it will definitely show you a totally different outlook on things and yourself. It's not magic, but the closest thing to it.
Don't let his account make you think you know what Ayahuska is. His account is personal and is different for everyone. Each time you take it is different depending on what you need at that time. It will heal you and make you more whole. It's as if it is reconnecting the fragmented soul that comes from being human. I did it 20 years ago in Brazil and several times since and it changed me for the better in a profound way and showed me what was most important. I stopped because I felt strongly that it was done with me. If you are called to do it and are emotionally stable and strong enough do it. If you have doubts stay away. BTW it was never terrifying for me only very intense in a beautiful and loving way that can't be described. Always do it with an experienced shaman and stay away from commercial hucksters catering to tourists. I've done it both ways. The latter is dangerous.
Psylocibin is also a very good plant for your consciousness...i did both here in Brazil... ahyuasca is a stronger experience in every sense, more intense... You people who are paying for ahyuasca be aware of the people who are providing intention. If your shaman has duality in their mind, the trip maybe more unstable. And go to meditation...do something like the vypassana course and do it everyday..ahyuasca can cure, but education and discipline is something for everyday in our lives.. the ill mentality of not seeing we are not separate from nature...and the ill mentallity of wanting to obtain a certain drug ( so you can be happy forever) its ignorance. It is temporary illusion and you might end up feeding the sick side of society again and again
It used to be difficult to put this in writing but not any longer so here goes.... After lifelong depression, child abuse, addiction, etc, I went through an awakening. But some traumas still haunt me. No matter how much I write, feel, face it head-on, I can't shake the depression. It always lingers. I've been looking into ways to fix myself so I can stop bleeding on those that didn't cut me. Psilocybin mushrooms are on my radar as well as this drug. I need to be brought behind the curtain ...i need to face the darkness that still cuts me. Maybe I should head to Peru.......

I have seen the insects that he was discussing on psilocybin and they were primarily beetles and inside of those beetles, I could make out other patterns. I have even seen the alien archetype. The first time I saw this mental being, I became afraid because it surprised me. It resembles a lotus flower and as I was moving into the mandala, the lotus began to open more and more, inviting me to come closer and closer. I could never get to the lotus being but I found it almost as a game of chase. Very interesting stuff. The most I have taken is 2.2 grams on an empty stomach. I do not think I would go as high as 3.5 even though the heroic dose is always in the back of my mind. These organic chemicals are teaching tools in my opinion. Over the years of experimenting spiritually with psychedelics, I have begun integrating more meditation, more yoga, more natural forms of raising consciousness, because that is what is important. I think that he presents a forimible point. An educated, relatively healthy individual uncovered soemthing he was able to deal with and grasp. Which has never really been the problem. It is where the 5 or 10% of the cases that people ingest that can't handle the fear, or the bugs, or whatever is qued up that causes a person to seek to stop the ride, now that is the hurdle that psychadelics face. It is not predictable or controllable, and might worsen the conditions for some cases. I hope that someday we discover ways to help that, to ease the fright, to make it dependable. if you get really fearful during your trip, doesn't that mean your a fearful person? the trip externalizes your emotions. if you are a content happy person, you will have a happy trip, of course you will most likely see scary things during your trip, but since you are a positive person you break thru it, you don't get stuck in the scariness. people need to have a way to know whether or not they are ready for psychedelics. that's hard to tell.
I always hear so many good stories about experiences with ayahuasca but to be honest I am terrified to try because I am convinced that I will have the most traumatizing experience possible and never recover...
If you drink it with an experienced healer, i'ts quite the opposite! You will heal and forgive your traumas, faults and fears in a profound and loving way!
Great talk, mostly spot on about Ayahuasca, but there is some misinformation. The brewing process is way more complex and ritualistic than that, and the thick Ayahuasca he came across in his ritual is actually a result of a process we call "graduation". The first result of the brewing is actually a very liquid, light brown Ayahuasca. There are a few other inaccuracies there, but great talk!!!
My question is, how did these people from the Amazon, so long ago discover that mixing two plants together, negates the effect of the intenstines on DMT, and why do our intestines have a defence mechanism against it, but not insects? its a a very fascinating subject for me personally, and i need to find a way to get to Peru and experience this for myself.
+tallaganda83 Here is an explanation; people mix drugs together all the time, just check how people today mix different drugs to get a good "high". And to say that our intestine has a defense mechanism against it is a bit simplified. Our intestine is constantly flooded with serotonin and it uses MAO to break it down. Thats why we humans have MAO, why bugs dont have it is a question I cant answer.

They say the plants can communicate with them after they enter a dream-like state which allows them access to the spirit world that presides right alongside ours. Look into some youtube documentaries about Shamans to hear the way they experience life and how they are able to consistently help their fellow villagers. It's the oldest way of life for humans, so my suggestion is to suspend your disbelief for at least while they share their methods and beliefs.

I would never take ayahuasca. I’m not down with hallucinating for hours and taking a trip down my most scariest memories. But The main reason I would never try this is the vomiting.
@@jahmallajaima In my experience, the vomiting is very minor, and it's a choice to release things... Emotional, spiritual, physical toxins. It's not agonizing like when you're sick. Selected members in my group are guardians, and they come over to support you, give you water and tissues. It's a purge, not a punishment. And it's a small portion of the entire time. Each individual drink, depending on the amount you take, only lasts 2-3 hours, not terribly long like acid or even mushrooms.

Everybody who turns 21 in the world should be forced to complete a ayahuasca ceremony or 5-meo bufo toad ceremony. This would allow us to let go of dogmatic religions a lot faster and realize that in the grande scheme of things, religion has little to do with anything.

all psycedelics helped me allot!!! I come from a borderline personality disorder background. And used to be playing the victim role... (nobody likes me, they dont want me, bla bla) Assoon as i toke my first psycedelic (this was a research drug called MXE or metox it shuts down your ego completely) I popped out of my body and relized i was playing a role like everybody else. Because i relized im not this body, im just energy just like everything arround us is. With this knowledge i changed the way i think about myself, others and the world! I nolonger want to kill myself and i feel much happier now!!! ofcourse its hard to be the only one in my family seeing the reality like this... But i find more and more people who have had an expierience like this and we feel like a big family now:) so try it if you are lost like i was!! I hope u find yourself to

There are at least hundreds of thousands of plants in the Amazon, and they found just the right combination of natural MOA Inhibitor, and DMT containing plant. Not to mention having to find whether the flowers, bark, leaves or roots had the right ingredient, and whether orally, topically, or other "routes of administration" were required. And that vomiting and purging were a desireable part of the process, rather than indicating a poisonous nature (which would be the obvious conclusion of trying nearly any other "tea") The "scientific method" alone does not explain this discovery. I think it would be more correct to say that our scientists are extremely primitive "shamans" than the other way around.

i was one of those spaced cadets, i freaked and bolted, the guides settled me down and in less than a minute healed me from severe PTSD, which i believe saved my life
One can start with very small amounts, in a safe setting, with a trusted friend. No need to blow yourself away on the first trip, unless of course you have great physical stamina and mental stability. But slowly building up and getting to really know this plant medicines' effect on you is far safer.
I think that movie Avatar was influenced by having Ayahuasca experience...

I had a disease called dystonia I was going mad trying to beat. It’s similar to Parkinson’s disease but I wanted my life back so bad I kept pushing through the ticks doctors tell you not to fight.
Around the time I was starting to get somewhere I took ayahuasca a handful of evenings. The most powerful experience shut down the movement disorder and I was able to experience the same sensations that cause dystonic movements while the illness was unable to figure out how to do its thing. From this place I dug in deep and learned I shake (tremor) because of fear. Fear of pain. I worked on my perception of pain, making it a rule that pain should only serve to show me where something is out of place.
These experiences did something drastic to my illness. The pain did not come back the same way, instead it transformed into something actually helpful. That was about a month ago. Everyday it takes less effort to accomplish more and more. Yesterday I deadlifted 300 pounds! For about a week I’ve been thinking I could get a pet time job no trouble now and plan to start putting in applications in about 2 weeks so long as things keep on going the way they have been!
Gods name is believed by many to be Yahweh or Yahua, and we have a miracles plant names Ayahuasca which has Gods name within it and a female presence, amazing, God is the Father and made everything through His Word, and the Mother is the Spirit of our earth....WOW Praise God you are so awesome.
TED bans Graham Hancock (2013) but allows Robin Carhart-Harris (2016) and Adam Oliver Brown (2014) to talk about psychedelics. So long as one talks about them in a particular language and format, they're allowed. OR, in response to the backlash, they've allowed a few psychedelic talks in. Who knows?

Interesting point. I might tentatively guess that Graham offers more negative criticism and pressure towards the current system and and highlights the immorality of state control over our consciousness'. Whereas Adam Oliver Brown, although taking away negative stigma for psychedelics, and using the language of recreational drugs along with that of science, doesn't have the same impact or far reaching implications.
Just speculating, but maybe they have learned from the complaints of banning Graham Hancock.
Without drugs, but through remote viewing protocol meditations and other meditations, I have had some of these experiences, the clarity of vision, the colors, the depth and dimensionality, even the purge effect. One teacher laughingly told me, the 60’s were good to you! But i didn’t use drugs then either. I got information that I could not have, but did. I saw visions of the future, but did not understand them. Only in hindsight did they make complete and accurate sense. My fear held me back from seeking answers at the times, especially regarding the future. The past is not nearly as hard to face when i have strong intention of healing myself. More, I am required to be humble as I see events of the past from other perspectives beyond my own limited memory of them. Innocence, ignorance, misunderstanding, denial of culpability, anger with others, anger with situations prevent clarity. Letting go attachment to what I think or think i remember is another humbling requirement. Also, have compassion for oneself as well as others, no matter what is revealed. This is Earth School 101, lessons upon lessons, and hopefully evolution of spiritual life.

Dmt is a fascinating molecule.
It's useful, because it'll push you to do positive things in your life, like quitting smoking or drinking, exercising, dieting, meditation, healthy and wholesome living. What ayawaska does is taking you through death and showing that everything is connected. It's scary because it so vast all-inclusive encompassing, dissolving all your boundaries and self-images (that's why it's so absolutely scary, not because of vomiting, although vomiting plays its role too :) It won't solve your problems, but it will definitely show you a totally different outlook on things and yourself. It's not magic, but the closest thing to it.
Don't let his account make you think you know what Ayahuska is. His account is personal and is different for everyone. Each time you take it is different depending on what you need at that time. It will heal you and make you more whole. It's as if it is reconnecting the fragmented soul that comes from being human. I did it 20 years ago in Brazil and several times since and it changed me for the better in a profound way and showed me what was most important. I stopped because I felt strongly that it was done with me. If you are called to do it and are emotionally stable and strong enough do it. If you have doubts stay away. BTW it was never terrifying for me only very intense in a beautiful and loving way that can't be described. Always do it with an experienced shaman and stay away from commercial hucksters catering to tourists. I've done it both ways. The latter is dangerous.

It used to be difficult to put this in writing but not any longer so here goes.... After lifelong depression, child abuse, addiction, etc, I went through an awakening. But some traumas still haunt me. No matter how much I write, feel, face it head-on, I can't shake the depression. It always lingers. I've been looking into ways to fix myself so I can stop bleeding on those that didn't cut me. Psilocybin mushrooms are on my radar as well as this drug. I need to be brought behind the curtain ...i need to face the darkness that still cuts me.

I have seen the insects that he was discussing on psilocybin and they were primarily beetles and inside of those beetles, I could make out other patterns. I have even seen the alien archetype. The first time I saw this mental being, I became afraid because it surprised me. It resembles a lotus flower and as I was moving into the mandala, the lotus began to open more and more, inviting me to come closer and closer. I could never get to the lotus being but I found it almost as a game of chase. Very interesting stuff. The most I have taken is 2.2 grams on an empty stomach. Looking back on this hopeful time from the perspective of the past six years, I think things are unfolding in an unexpected way. I'm working to avoid feeling depressed by how things are now with the role of stewardship of the planet that the heads of state seem to be ignoring.

I think that he presents a forimible point. An educated, relatively healthy individual uncovered soemthing he was able to deal with and grasp.
Which has never really been the problem. It is where the 5 or 10% of the cases that people ingest that can't handle the fear, or the bugs, or whatever is qued up that causes a person to seek to stop the ride, now that is the hurdle that psychadelics face.
It is not predictable or controllable, and might worsen the conditions for some cases.
I hope that someday we discover ways to help that, to ease the fright, to make it dependable. To usher in new techniques.

if you get really fearful during your trip, doesn't that mean your a fearful person? the trip externalizes your emotions. if you are a content happy person, you will have a happy trip, of course you will most likely see scary things during your trip, but since you are a positive person you break thru it, you don't get stuck in the scariness.

Great talk, mostly spot on about Ayahuasca, but there is some misinformation. The brewing process is way more complex and ritualistic than that, and the thick Ayahuasca he came across in his ritual is actually a result of a process we call "graduation". The first result of the brewing is actually a very liquid, light brown Ayahuasca. There are a few other inaccuracies there, but great talk!!!

My question is, how did these people from the Amazon, so long ago discover that mixing two plants together, negates the effect of the intenstines on DMT, and why do our intestines have a defence mechanism against it, but not insects? its a a very fascinating subject for me personally, and i need to find a way to get to Peru and experience this for myself.

And to say that our intestine has a defense mechanism against it is a bit simplified. Our intestine is constantly flooded with serotonin and it uses MAO to break it down. Thats why we humans have MAO, why bugs dont have it is a question I cant answer.

They say the plants can communicate with them after they enter a dream-like state which allows them access to the spirit world that presides right alongside ours. Look into some youtube documentaries about Shamans to hear the way they experience life and how they are able to consistently help their fellow villagers. It's the oldest way of life for humans, so my suggestion is to suspend your disbelief for at least while they share their methods and beliefs.

@@jahmallajaima In my experience, the vomiting is very minor, and it's a choice to release things... Emotional, spiritual, physical toxins. It's not agonizing like when you're sick. Selected members in my group are guardians, and they come over to support you, give you water and tissues. It's a purge, not a punishment. And it's a small portion of the entire time. Each individual drink, depending on the amount you take, only lasts 2-3 hours, not terribly long like acid or even mushrooms.
