    What really rubs me the wrong way is the fans reaction to injury , I totally get being disappointed someone won’t be there for your team , but acting like these players wanted to get injured / miss time is insanity , well said P always love listening

      And btw, as far as Trae young goes.. I think the answer stems from his play style. More specifically it’s how he manipulates defenders & creates contact to get to the line. He’s a 6foot 170 or so pounds perimeter oriented guard, who’s not very physical or imposing, yet still finds himself at the top of the league in FTA on a year by year basis. Credit to Trae for finding ways to take advantage of the game and put easy points on the board..but my guess is that’s also contributing to why fans/current players/etc don’t like him. He’s far from the only culprit..but Trae gets more disrespect because of his physical stature IMO. I don’t necessarily agree with this BTW, and if it were up to me Trae would undoubtedly be an allstar every year.

      I think at the time I felt he shouldn't have gotten it but as I get older I feel like I just want to see the best players in the game period. Not the best players on the best teams but just the best 24 players we can cobble together. Pretty sure Middleton was an all star that year. If you put Middleton on that wizards team and Beal on that Bucks team neither one is losing or winning way more than before.

    According to the nba the reserves were voted by head coaches from their conference, who picked 2 guards 3 front court and 2 additional. They also couldn’t vote for a player on their own team. That means a given player could only receive a maximum of 14 votes. Some players would be obvious locks for reserves to that removes some of the possibilities. This means for the snubs it is the coaches who are the problem. Trae young is someone who has made some rivalries so the coaches can just be biased against him. I would imagine for the kings fox and sabonis stole votes from each other because coaches only wanted one or the other.

    • @griffindault
      @griffindault 6 місяців тому +2

      Yeah It could be some secret grudge non specific coaches have against Young OR given that there is no evidence of that those 15 Eastern Conference Head Coaches do more than look at box score numbers.

    I have control over noncontact injuries. If i keep having issues with the same body part, I need to make a change to what I've been doing. I can change what I eat, how i work out and what to include in my exercise to strengthen whatever i hurt. I can change how I move around or even how I play to avoid the same issues. Something as simple as how i plant my feet and change direction, how I decelerate. I used to be heavy, so i had knee and ankle issues. I strengthened my lower body and lost weight. I made sure i ate extremely healthy and took vitamins. Just because something is harder for bigger people does not mean it cant be done.
    Guys should always do things to prevent the same issues before they let it become a constant problem. Joel Embiid is a guy that we all know was never big on taking care of his body until a couple years ago. He should've been doing that from the beginning. Obviously no one wants to get injured, but I dont think certain guys have the dedication or even intelligence to nip these issues in the bud. Chris Paul mentioned becoming vegan improving his body and helping him stay healthy when he was in OKC. Imagine if he made that change before his injury history got as long as it did.

    Love the trae young take, never been a huge trae guy myself but I think at this point it’s time to give him his flower. He 100% deserved to be an all star this season. And when it comes to Fox and Sabonis, I have to agree when you say say you don’t know what makes an all star because the debate is different for every different player. Steph hit it on head, it’s political.. idk what that entails but it seems to be the reason for the bizarre all star selections the last few year, if not longer

    Don’t necessarily disagree with the injuries not being able to be controlled especially for some of embiids other freak injuries specifically the orbital bone fractures but there comes a time where we have to consider that Embiid is just going to miss a sizeable portion of the season and most likely playoff games every single year. This is also a situation where we need to ask why this is happening to Embiid more frequently than other superstars? Injuries are a part of the game but some guys just stay hurt

    Not necessarily only about winning, but the difference between AD and Trae Young is that AD is Good offensively and Great Defensively, Trae young is Good offensively and historically bad Defensively, puts up great numbers and that can lead to wins if he's efficient, but that's the problem he's not as efficient as he should be. All these factors have to be taken into consideration. And when you look at bad teams that have 2 Allstars it's teams with starters like Curry Bron and KD. Just saying 27 10 is too much of a simplification when considering what the Coaches look at.
    In regards to Kat over Sabonis? Idk what to tell you 😂

      It really doesn’t. I mean the whole Utah game doesn’t either. We have also heard P give teams a break cause “they were coming off a back to back” bucks were coming off a back to back completing the 2nd largest comeback in the league this season (25 points). And to piggyback off of ur point about points scored against the bucks being a bad point , the Mavs scored 44 points in that first quarter And for the rest of the 3 quarters the bucks held them under 28 points.

    If he needs surgery, then he shouldn't come back this season. That type of surgery takes at least a month before you're allowed to put full weight on it. Sure he's rich and can get the best surgeons, but they aren't magicians. Your body still needs to heal. Sure they can rush it, but the risk of re injure is even higher then.

    All Star is never going to be about just numbers or just winning, that's just a stupid and simplistic way of looking at things, so should we just watch OKC and Boston play against each other? It should always be a mix of both
    As far as the Sabonis snub whether you like it or not you have to factor in player's reputation, popularity, market of their team. It's not right but it's also not hard to understand why he was snub, he's not as big of a name yet
