It's so refreshing to add another person like you to my list of people I could listen to talk for hours on end and never get tired of it. Congrats on the success, been here since the grilled chicken sandwich video and have loved seeing your continued success.

You are a very good communicator. Clear, efficient, never redundant. The information you relay is on point, you don't go off on tangents and don't try to crowbar personality based antics into your videos like many other bad Foodie youtubers. That skill is good for presenting ANY subject matter. Your end of video summary of how a business works is "must see" youtube. 90% of the population fails to understand how a corporation works. They think many professionals who utilize them just pocket everything. I would suggest a video solely dedicated to this for your 2.4mil views! Elaborate on the risk in terms of hiring, paying everyone else first, liability, insurance, no employee benefits, employment insurance.... that everyone else who works for a corp may have and you have a winner.

Well said; The value you add to almost all of your videos is that you are concise, your charming personality shows though, your delivery, and you are confident. You come across as real and regardless of the situation you are well spoken. Thank you for adding value to UA-cam and so many lives.

Ethan, I've been following you for a while and I love your content! Specifically I love how well thought out your videos are and I've tried to adopt similar strategies in my own content creation on a different account. I always loved your short intro, "... a home cooking nerd..." thought it was a great concise way to introduce new people to your channel! I noticed that somewhat recently between the orzo and buffalo wings videos (yes... I found the specific point! :D) you stopped using that. I have some ideas as to why, but I'd love to hear your thought process behind it. Thanks for all your great content!
I would also love to see more content here on strategy and technique behind creating engaging content on UA-cam!

Thanks for sharing this and going so in-depth. I'm in the same youtube niche as you but still at the beginning and still small. So it's actually very hard to find youtube insights aimed for cooking creators. I'm still in fear that I'm doing something wrong with the SEO as i get very little views and I think my content should attract more.
PS: have your thought about mentoring? I'm always in awe of the quality and effort you put into your videos and I always try to pull inspiration from you.

Well deserved Ethan, it's been great seeing you blow up! No one puts out educational food content similar to yours and it's the closest thing to Alton Brown that I've found on youtube. Keep up the great work and give me a shout if you ever want some Middle Eastern cooking tips.
Also you're missing a 0 in the video title.

“Randomly at the end of November…”
Thanksgiving, a day that will make you curse if you have to use dull knives to prep a big meal for a bunch of people. Sharpen them before the big day or after a day of frustrating meal prep. Either way people will look up how to do it.

Is there one video that seemed to be the overall catalyst for your channel's exponential growth spurt (was it this one?), or was it a confluence of videos, among other things? I've been grinding away for coming up on a year now just experimenting and trial-and-erroring my way through things. Just trying to make the best content I can on things that interest me since it seems like that's the best one can do. I often wonder how most people find their success; whether it may just be about something eventually hitting and just being ready to ride that wave. Love the videos (both channels). Keep up the awesome work!

There were about 5 or 6 videos that got pushed in late June / July of this year that got over 100k views which was massive for my channel at the time. A lot of those people watching were subscribed to similar channels so a lot of them subscribed to mine as well. There's no denying that part of youtube is just making a bunch of videos and through this you begin to stack the deck in your favor for one that pops off. I think Gary Vee says something like "you never know when the next piece of content is the one that makes it all worth it".

@@ethanchlebowskimultiverse So true! I'm sure we all naturally get better as we create more and over longer periods of time, and I'm also sure we've all got a video or few in our past that we think of as stinkers. I just want to be able to be proud of and stand behind as much of my content as possible since you never really know which piece may suddenly come to define you.
