- Hello Friends! Welcome to the Chaos that is my NYC 2021 vlog! I took a bunch of clips of us hanging out around town on our most recent trip to NYC. We originally decided to glom onto @AbbyCox and @NicoleRudolph trip to go see the Met exhibit of the Medici paintings (some of which are in this vlog for you), and that turned into a week of fun, musicals, a delightful private dinner hosted by @DandyWellington and Hendricks, a couple of museum visits, 3 trips to the fabric district, and a lot of eating and hanging out with very dear friends that we haven't seen in a very long time.
My partners in awesome were Erika ( / erikaalamode ) and Gigi ( / labelladonnahistory ) and other people see in in this video are @MorganDonner, @NamiSparrow , Jeff ( / @cheon-shik_yang ) , @NotYourMommasHistory, Kenna ( / kenna.sews , @AngelaClaytonCostumery , @Sewstine , and of course, @bernadettebanner . I love the chaotic storyline of this is like: The trio girl gang of Noelle, Gigi and Erika meets up with more and more people in different scenarios, of whom we all know from other shows (aka channels).
My favourite moments were Bernadette taking your camera, realising how tall Angela is and all the different introductions of people.
Yeah, we all get a false sense of how tall a person is, and then they stand next to someone either taller or shorter and the brain just goes, "Wha-a-a-?!"
@@theplussizecostumer True Facts. Nicole recently casually mentioned her height in a video and I was all "whaaa?" because I was certain she was like, almost a foot taller.
This makes me feel like, once the plague times have fully gone, there should be an annual CosTubers style convention/meetup thing that is specifically for online creators in this genre. Like costume college meets vidcon. Love you all and it was so fun to see everyone vibing in the same place and time. Thanks for sharing!

I think the camaraderie and friendship y’all have, bonding over your shared interest, is so wonderful. Back in my sewing days, long long ago, my hobby was not shared by anyone I knew but a friend across the country. Internet was in its infancy (bulletin boards and chat rooms at best) and UA-cam/social-media did not exist. So the bond you have been able to develop and enjoy is very enviable and so much fun to watch. Thank you for being content providers.

What was so delightful about this trip is that so many of you were vlogging and Gramming it from your own diversely delightful perspectives. We all out here in the intertubes can’t help but feel like we were part of it as well. Thanks for taking us all along!

I am so excited to watch this. You looked so gorgeous at the party in the photos online and the clips I saw. I am excited to see how the trip went from your perspective of crashing Abby and Nicoles trips. Poor Nikki. Cup of tea and embroidery in hand! Oh absolutely, but it was also restored so we don’t know if that was at the time or weird restoration work!

Thank you for the footage of the dress! I know that it's been restored, but the level of preservation and restoration was incredible! I love your Chaos Vlogs, and this one looked especially fun and chaotic.

Congrats on the video! I just loved seeing you all together and leaving the UA-cam personas behind. You seemed especially happy to be there, visiting old friends. I thought Bernadette was especially animated and I hadn't seen her like that for many years. Passing the camera around was genius! They all took part and it was so pleasing. I enjoyed this sooooo much! It was lovely to see you all hanging out together. I follow so many of you on UA-cam. Angela Clayton was my first love, and gradually I discovered more and more. Fun, entertaining, but I’ve also learned so much. Not just about sewing, but period panties!, how to talk about hard subjects, inclusion and allyship in action. Not to mention, I feel younger and more in touch as I listen and laugh and learn. It adds another dimension to know and see that you are all friends, too! Sending hugs and grateful thanks!

You all so remind me of the gaggle of us who went to the Janet Arnold conference in Florence, Italy, and then to see this dress in Pisa Ten (?) or so years ago. Giggling.....I only saw better cheese once.....but am still giggling at what the 'Hendrix' Gin experience would look and taste like.... amazing to see so many Choob Champions tiarared together. Actually in my early 2am UK head the collective noun seems appropriate....a tiara of Choob Champions. And that fringed dress Angela! She is my style icon as her hair is the shade of green I've always wanted to wear. Fabulous. X.

So jelly. I live in NYC, but have been somewhat germaphobic even before Covid started, so I haven't been out to do things in town in over a year. But now I have to commute to my office one day a week, and hopefully that starts getting me more comfy w being outside my bubble lol.

This video was like an early Christmas gift, (especially the Medici exhibit). Thank you so much for the clips of the dress on display. I first saw photos of the burgundy red gown back around my last two years in highschool. They weren't the best photos available on the internet, So to see this dress so close and see there was more secrets of this dress revealed was awesome. I can so relate to those next mornings after a fun exciting night. good full bottle of water or two before bed flushes and helps decrease the hangover the next morning. A friend and I are planing to travel a lot in the next few years. One of the plans is New York, I'll have to tell him about this restaurant with the guest grandma chefs. It sounds very fun.

I've watched several of the Costubers' New York trip videos but this is the first one where I caught an explanation of how it came about. I love that all of you guys, whose videos I watch all the time, are also acquainted (whether or not you've actually met) and got together to storm NYC!

Yay, you got on a plane and went across country, and sent time with a lot of people, so cool. You made NYC look fun to this small town girl. I'm getting a plane and travelling (overseas) North Island to South Island, to see my sister next month.
That was so fun! I thoroughly enjoyed seeing all the Insta posts from all the attendees while the trip was happening, and it's nice to see some more chatting and behind the scenes stuff!
