And remember that the rules of the Entrance Exam was to immobilize or render the villain-bots unable to function anymore, not necessarily destroy them. As such he could trap them against walls, or stick them to the ground, or even plug up their muzzles to earn points.” Mineta might just usually throw the balls around, but he definitely has the technique and intelligence to rack up enough points fairly easily. He was even smart enough to know that Midnight is a sadist, and intentionally baited her into moving away from the exit by running away, crying. Also, people apparently don’t realize that he’s comic relief. He exists to immediately have the shit beaten out of him when he acts up. Also, he’s gotten way better. So that clears up the first excuse as to why people hate him. He’s not really that sexist, he’s just a very horny teenager that’s going through puberty. He’s never said anything that’s particularly sexist. Just perverted. So that’s the “sexist” thing some people use against him. His quirk is actually useful. It’s like Sero’s. Sticks to people other than its user and can be used to get around in certain environments, like Sero’s tape. He’s shown that he’s got as much control over it as any other student does over their quirks. His quirk can be used to hold people in place (as shown in the final exams against midnight), get around quicker on certain terrains (as shown in the sports festival when todoroki froze the ground), and to capture villains (as shown in the USJ attack, where the opponent aimed to kill. they could have actually died) It’s also been shown that he himself can actually be a hero. He’s shown that he can work alone fairly well (once again, shown final exams) and that he can work well in groups, which is a valid- and probably overall more effective- pro hero strategy. It works for him, as he’s shown in the USJ attack, hero licensing exam, and most likely during the summer camp attack. Additionally, Bakugo, Momo, Kirishima, Todoroki, Iida, and Izuku have shown that it is multiple times: the USJ attack (Todoroki was the exception because of the nature of his quirk), the fight against Stain, saving izuku from the nomu that had flown away with him(a hero had made the nomu bleed, which allowed Stain to use his quirk on it), rescuing Bakugo, hero licensing exam(Todoroki was the exception for all but the end of the Search and Rescue. He’s not really that sexist, he’s just a very horny teenager that’s going through puberty. He’s never said anything that’s particularly sexist. Just perverted. So that’s the “sexist” thing some people use against him.
His quirk is actually useful. It’s like Sero’s. Sticks to people other than its user and can be used to get around in certain environments, like Sero’s tape. He’s shown that he’s got as much control over it as any other student does over their quirks.
His quirk can be used to hold people in place (as shown in the final exams against midnight), get around quicker on certain terrains (as shown in the sports festival when todoroki froze the ground), and to capture villains (as shown in the USJ attack, where the opponent aimed to kill. they could have actually died)
It’s also been shown that he himself can actually be a hero. He’s shown that he can work alone fairly well (once again, shown final exams) and that he can work well in groups, which is a valid- and probably overall more effective- pro hero strategy. It works for him, as he’s shown in the USJ attack, hero licensing exam, and most likely during the summer camp attack.
Additionally, Bakugo, Momo, Kirishima, Todoroki, Iida, and Izuku have shown that it is multiple times: the USJ attack (Todoroki was the exception because of the nature of his quirk), the fight against Stain, saving izuku from the nomu that had flown away with him(a hero had made the nomu bleed, which allowed Stain to use his quirk on it), rescuing Bakugo, hero licensing exam(Todoroki was the exception for all but the end of the Search and Rescue. Bakugo failed because of his attitude, not because of the teamwork), the second attempt at the hero licensing exam, the summer camp attack(izuku was forced into basically fighting alone against muscular, and we all know how that ended), Kirishima’s debut fight (Fatgum helped capture the criminal, and Tamaki captured most of the others), pretty much the entire mission to rescue Eri(on both the hero side AND the villain side), the fight with Overhaul(Izuku likely would have died without Eri’s rewind), the High End Nomu attack(endeavor definitely needed hawks’s help),
Aizawa’s fight during the sports festival (when he was a student), most of Aizawa’s fights before(and, in a way, when) Oboro died.
Things that I feel should also count for something:
Honestly, Izuku’s plan during the USJ attack would’ve been more difficult to pull off (or a more difficult one) if Mineta hadn’t been there. His quirk kept the villains from just getting out the water and chasing them, and without it they likely would have had to try to actually fight more villains than they did.
Also, he helped carry Aizawa and I find that at least somewhat important because it meant the others (who had quirks more suited for offense and defense, rather than just capturing) could stay where they were more useful.

Mineta is actually a really funny character he’s also strong at times, he just doesn’t get much screen time, the only time he does get screen time is when he’s being perverted (which gives people bad impression s of him) honestly their still first years that just got out of junior high//middle school soo..I don’t blame him for being horny lolol.
Also I bet the fandom would actually like mineta if his character design was different because some people will consider him as not the best looking and that just shows how cruel people could be by only liking someone because of their looks. Which I absolutely despise!
Also (whoops so many also’s!) The author has claimed that another reason why mineta had got in Yuuei // U.A
is that he is actually pretty intelligent, his IQ could match Bakugo’s so I don’t get why people call him stupid or a (r slur word) *which is actually pretty rude considering that the author had claimed it, and people shouldn’t be calling him that even if he’s a fictional character!*
I wish they show some sort of development so that they can understand that mineta isn’t all that bad !
