IKR? I couldn’t care less about the perceived disrespect to the officer. She disrespected her constituents by holding herself above the laws that apply to ALL OF US. Also, “I’m not going to make excuses” -proceeds to make a bunch of excuses. More than resigning, she should turn herself into the police for fleeing a traffic stop. Any regular citizen would’ve been in cuffs. Likely would’ve had force used to do it. But no, she “punished herself” by taking ethics classes. That isn’t even a time out.
So tax payers will have to pay for her to go to a class on how to be a decent person? What do you want to bet that class will require an overnight stay and meals? She should be reported to the state bar for her behavior
@@atsuchiya624if you would have fled to your house during a traffic stop you would have been charged with felony fleeing and arrested and had to post bail. She should either resign or be forcibly removed from office.
Utter BS. We can see through you lady! She is an 'I am' person, and she thought she was above the law. She is only appologising because her job and reputation is on the line. If she was truly sorry, she wouldn't be making excuses for her actions in the hope we would all say "AWE bless you". She put others at risk for her speeding, and she should have been arrested for failing to stop. She is a missable excuse for a human being.
She’s wasting her breath in this video. We may forgive her, but that doesn’t mean she shouldn’t be accountable for her actions. She does not need to be a prosecutor over any citizen.
She’s not even saying what she did. If you didn’t know the backstory, would you even know what she’s talking about? This apology is a big NOTHING and she knows it.
Someone who is truly sorry for their actions, doesn’t make excuses for their deplorable behavior. She has no business being in a position to make choices impacting other people’s lives, if when under pressure, she abuses her authority.
You need to go to jail. You showed your badge asking for a favor. The police were doing their job. So let them do it. You need handcuffs put on you and given a perp walk. If I acted this way and asked the da bring charges to me for forgiveness. Hmm I think you would have said sorry the law is the law. Go directly to jail.
This person has lost all everyone's trust. Trust is key for her position. She must resign. There is no going forward with her. She suffers from bad character and that can't be changed overnight. Sometimes is takes years. Why should everyone else (decent citizens) have to wait for her to catch up?
Im going to lose my high paying job and had a hard day on the job. Even though I flee and eluded the police. To make this right I will self discipline myself.
She’s only sorry she was caught. Using others murder to make excuses/try n’ play on peoples emotions. Taking every action to reconcile but RESIGNING from her powerful position. Pathetic
It’s a little too late. Her PR person wrote this for her and she’s reading it off a Teleprompter. not sincere at all. And where is the apology from Dennis Kohlmeyer, chief of police?
I don't think she was acting like a drunk person. She was acting like an entitled person! She showed her true self and she isn't sorry. She should be fired.
Anyone of us would have been thrown to the ground, beaten, tased and arrested for felony eluding. The arrogant self entitlement is astounding. She would have prosecuted anyone else to the fullest extent of the law. Ironic that if she pulled over immediately, the cop would have absolutely not given her a summons because she is "The DA".
She can no longer function as a DA prosecutor. If she continues in this position, the law will be unbelievable to every American citizen. She no longer has a clean slate. The boss of that honest police officer should also be reprimanded. Greetings from the Netherlands.
Admitted to 55 in a 35. Admitted to fleeing from police. Resisted the officer's commands. Admitted to prosecuting herself (which is a form of corruption). Firing her is the only answer.
I’m so sorry, but …. She behaved in a childish entitled manner. She should not be in a position for this to happen again. She is truly sorry indeed. Sorry the policeman did not recognize her superior position in life, get back in his car and leave. Fire her‼️
Yes indeed, time for this Karen to resign! No apology accepted , she is arrogant & only sorry she got caught. She IS NOT above the laws she enforces on others!! There are consequences for our actions no matter who you are. Shame on her!!!
I had to look up the bodycam video. There is no way to make right the way she acted. Any normal citizen acting the way she did would have multiple charges, not just a speeding ticket. Since she decides who gets prosecuted, I guess there was no point in charging her with anything else. It's disgusting to have someone with THAT power/responsibility act like THAT. No excuses.
By "great man" you're obviously not referring to TRUMP, because he's a convicted rapist, convicted fraudster, he cheats on his wives, and he's got over 80 felony charges against him at the same time.
Pathetic. A despicable, transparent, passive aggressive, non-apology. She keeps herself on top and let's everyone know her status is so elevated she even disciplines herself. Goes on to use one of 'her' staff as an example just to diffuse the the spotlight from the one and only person it should be on.
Let me get this right. If it was any regular person, they would have been in cuffs, booked and charged. It could impact if they have a job when they get out it may not. But if she isn't charged in the same way, including fleeing charges, then every case involving speeding and fleeing that she has had any say so in needs to be reversed.
It’s not just what you did, it’s the last statement you made. How can you prosecute someone who defies the law when you yourself cannot hold yourself to the same standard.
“All these bad things happened to me and that’s why I exuded my authority by driving home and calling the police chief directly even though if a normal person had a bad day and did what I did they’d be in jail for eluding an officer, so therefore I signed myself up for a class on how to be a decent person so the next time this situation gets brought up I can say I have official documentation that says I did something about it. Anyway I’m still keeping my job though.”
If she has no respect for the law, how can she be a LAWyer effectively?! It just speaks to how far removed she is from the actual public shes supposed to be defending. I think some people become jaded, callus and entitled the longer they spend in these "public service" positions. Quite like DCF workers, they become jaded and stop recognizing the lives they effect with the position they hold and become drunk with power.
If she doesn’t resign……….then she must be ABOVE THE LAW! No other person will ever get a fleeing and eluding arrest….they will all have to be a speeding ticket! PERIOD!
Ask yourself a couple of questions, would you have apologized if this had not been made public? Are you feeling guilty because you looked at your behavior and saw it was terrible or because you had no other choice than to apologize? And is having a bad day really a good excuse for your behavior? If someone stood in front of you and made the excuse that they had a bad day would that really be enough? We all make mistakes but your entitlement was shameful.
Too little, too late lady (which is a generous compliment). Nothing was ladylike or acceptable in how you behaved. You should’ve been charged with DC and obstruction. Do your community the favor of resigning. Kudos to that poor police officer who had to endure your self righteous tantrum.
So you can NOT perform while under stress? You're admitting you are not a very good fit for the position of a DA, ruled by your emotions. Let's see a video of you apologizing face to face of the officer you berated, begging his forgiveness, then resign, publicly and move away from NYS, we don't need Karen's like you.
That's great that she apologized. Trust comes with the acceptance of responsibility. The character of the kingdom iminates from the Character of the King. She holds the highest office in the land. They can except her apology, but that does not mean she should keep her job.
Im REALLY sorry and let me tell you every excuse that justifies my horrific behavior. Ask any catholic we can tell you, punishing ourselves, guilt and shame does nothing to correct bad behavior
There's no excuse for what you've done and tried to sit there and abuse your power because you saw it dealt with your cases in your job it's understandable about your husband but you definitely need to be fired
Resign that’s what is right to do no excuses at your position you should totally know what is right and wrong. I felt the apology was not sincere either but just a way to try to make things better but it sure didn’t cause I did not believe it. And what happened she didn’t get charged with eluding police which is a bigger charge than the speeding ticket? SMH🤦🏻
I didn't do nothing wrong I had a bad day - Entitled DA. The Proof Needed for an Eluding the Police Conviction Your attorney may be able to offer a defense for your charge if he is able to show that the prosecution doesn’t have evidence against you. The prosecution will need show that: You willfully fled or attempted to elude the police officer. You had a specific intent to evade the officer. The police car exhibited at least one red light visible from the front and sounded the siren when in pursuit of you. You saw the police officer or should have seen the officer. The officer was in uniform. Possible Defenses Against an Eluding the Police Charge You may be found not guilty of the offense if your attorney can prove that: The patrol car lacked a red lamp, siren, logos, insignia, or other characteristics that distinguish it from a civilian vehicle. Having just a red light and siren is not sufficient. You were not intentionally trying to evade the officer. If you were distracted by talking on your phone or to a passenger, or if you were extremely intoxicated, your attorney may be able to prove you lacked the specific intent required to make a conviction. You were too afraid to pull over. If you were in an unsafe area, you may have felt it was too dangerous to stop, especially if the police car was unmarked and you weren’t sure if it actually was an officer attempting to pull you over. If convicted, motorists can face license suspension, hefty fines, and even time behind bars.
Ya think? You are not sorry! You are sorry that you got caught!
Exactly!!!!
Just resign. We all know she's only apologizing cause she got caught.
BINGO🎯💯💯💯💯👍🇺🇸!!!!!!!

is this an apology or a laundry list of reasons why she felt justified to do whatever the hell she wants.
Why are we giving her a platform? She should be fired.
Charge her with felony fleeing.
But she paid her ticket and punished herself with ethics classes! Hasn’t she suffered enough?
