We're right into the summer months of Pokemon, and this is the Pokemon Investing video - July 2024 edition! We'll go through a bunch of different Pokemon sets and look at their booster boxes. For some of the Sword & Shield Pokemon Booster Boxes, we'll look at both the 1 month graph and the 12 month graph to see a short term picture as well as the long term bigger picture. I personally buy the most popular sets (151, evolving skies, team up) because sure you can get a cheaper set but lets say you invested heavily in darkness ablaze, sure you'll be up but it took years so I bought a case of evolving skies when it was 500 and it's up to 700 in like 3 months, Invest in the Best and it will be more liquid and when the booms happen they will go up the most IMHO
SV is amazing. I really enjoy most sets. Especially Paradox Rift is being slept on.

Shrouded Fable is a pass for me. I don't see anything that will hold the set together. Not to mention, ETBs take up too much room.

What’s your opinion on pc etbs? I feel like they instantly shoot up to $75-$100 but then stay. While modern booster boxes take longer to appreciate they climb higher. But i can’t help but think pc etbs are still a must
@@dennisdinh6918yeah if you must buy ETBs, PC ones are the way to go. Occasionally I'll buy PC ETBs for sets that don't have booster boxes (151, Paldean Fates, etc) but only if I believe in the set. But as primarily a sealed collector, space becomes an issue.
@@MichaelIpthat’s fair. How do you store your booster boxes? I’m thinking of getting some acrylic cases for ones I want to display but the rest are just in a storage comtainer i got at costco
I think it will be short printed for sure. Pokemon have to be aware at how mid it is. It will be the champions path of SV. Sealed product will be in low quantities, 90% will get opened and then what ever is left will fetch a huge premium, especially the kingdra and greninja boxes. They will be $70 boxes by 2025 I think
Cancelled my preorder for Shrouded Fable, the card options are horrendous and so limited, just seems not fun.
Shrouded fable might be a hit or miss but man stellar crown has me hype. I’m so collecting the pack artworks for that set. So many releases one after the other

It will be worth buying. I don’t see it being a miss but I don’t see it being a massive hit. The houndoom they just announced looks dope. We still don’t know all the cards in the set until we open it
My LG had those evolving skies sitting out front at $85 trying to get rid of them several years ago... I walked by thinking, man, I should grab a box... I didn't.

I'm pretty sure 151 is getting a reprint soon-ish. One of my fav shops has put up preorders for booster bundles which are expected to ship in Q4!

I got a sv base booster box for 60.00 usd and 3 paldea evolved booster boxes for 72.00 usd each. I believe in the era and have long before most. Paldean Fates is a really good set.

That Persian and dusknoir from shrouded fable are the only two cards I want.
Ive picked up a bunch of celebrations ETBs and UPCs and Japanese 151 booster boxes. Also 151 ETBs How do you think these will go as a sealed investment and how long do you think before we see reasonable gains please?
Chilling regin was 87$ when I picking up a few boxes and a case I know a guy that bought a 1000 cases there’s a lot of product out there

I bought 2 boxes of silver tempest off of Pokémon center and the one of them got smashed do to the shipping 😭 the other one survived but it was beat up

do i sell my expensive pokemon card (Gengar VMAX #271 alternate art fusion strike) for about 300USD now? or do i wait for it to go up in price? if i want to sell my gengar vmax now i can buy about three new set booster box and use that as an investment.

I'm doing that with my greninja, just sold it for 240 and sold a couple more cards for 70, so when the money comes in ima buy 3 booster boxes of twilight then try to flip that.

I hate reprints. They get salty they dont get a piece of the secondary market, so they tank it without care.
Reprints are fine while the sets are still in play. What would be bad is if they decided to reprint an old set that is out of print

Doesn't matter what people say. Look at the facts.
Compare the first 7 sets of swsh to SV... its just better... granted we had evolving as our 7th set of swsh. But we havnt seen what stellar has to offer yet. In terms of sets that have good art, there was battle styles, chilling and evolving. The 4 year 1 sets sucked 🤷♂️ yet every set from SV has had multiple alt arts.
The special/holiday sets are on par imo. Celebrations was a bit better than 151, but paldean fates was miles better than shining fates. Then champions path and shrouded fable both looking pretty bad. More variety with fable, but an overall better chase with champions. Now we have an eevee set coming to rival vmax climax and I don't see why it won't be at the very least, on par?
Now we have rumors of a rocket set which will be a main set I think, and a dragon set which if either of those sets are holiday sets, we're talking about comparing them to pogo 😂 and then there's next years high class set + the potential for another special set in early 2025.
Year 3 was the best year for swsh in terms if overall set quality and pull rates based on the gimmick of having a gallery of top tier artworks, being placed in the reverse slot for an easier pull rate. Now we are hearing rumors of Mega returning, which Im guessing is gonna be the gimmick for year 3 SV, which leads me to think we are gonna see a mega alt art gallery in our 3rd and final high class set next year.
So my take is, people are sleeping OK SV, and mid way through 2025/2026 people are gonna say holy shit, sv had an insane variety of pokemon from all eras, and certain sets like paldea, twilight, rocket etc.. are gonna jump up to 200 quid when pokemon center sells out of them. Just like swsh and SM

I broke down and bought the Japanese version for $20… couldn’t stomach the $40 for English , but just got it yesterday! It’s gonna be the center card in my eevee page , surrounded by the evo skies vmaxs (not the alts or anything , the $10-15 versions!) still looks SWEET in my binder tho…. :D
Actually Evo Skies was never $100 a box.

It may not seem like a big difference but it’s important for people to know sometimes sets are never going to be $100 or less a box and that’s okay too.
Yea it was I bought several boxes from pfootballpete on eBay for $94. Wish I would have bought 20!
