I always feel that Maria's dancing makes complete sense with the music and helps me understand both the music and the dance more clearly. I am a musician, as well, so this is high praise. Thank you for posting!
Yes its true, this music would be quite senseless if not the dance, I even think it would help the Orchestra a great deal to play it a bit more inspired if they' d actually look how she fills it with sense and beauty...
This is a role for a Prima Ballerina, which Khoreva is not yet. She shows beautiful musical sensitivity and, exquisite line. For that, I would say she is exceptional for one so young. I was quite enchanted.
AGREED. She is remarlkable and has a fabulous future but is not yet the mature dancer to carry this foreign style of choreography as can many trained in it, especially at SAB for the NYCBallet. Technique, and extension are not the sum total of a performance.
she had moments of finding it, but her challenge here is with the correct sense of detachment. balanchine spoke about dancers being 'like angels--they see things happening, but they are not a part of them' at the beginning, she was very much part of things and aggressive, but then she started finding the right balance. she obviously tries very hard, though (down to the suzanne farrell-esque make-up) and will be an excellent dancer once she starts accessing the 'spiritual' side of it...
I just don't think she's there yet, this feels like a too mature piece for her and while she is obviously a lovely dancer, this doesn't really sit quite right on her just yet.
This didn't really pull me in like to others have done. Obviously Maria has exquisite technique but something is lacking. The chemistry maybe, I don't know. It just seemed dry. I think her facial expression looks kind of like she's bored or something. The dancing is lovely but it all feels mechanical, empty of that magical something that tugs at our heart. Devoid of artistic energy. Edit: go watch Suzanne Farrell and Peter Martins or Jacques d'Ambroise and you'll see exactly what I'm getting at
There is no doubt she is a talented dancer, but she in no way has the maturity for this piece, and she sometimes had a blank expression, or looked a little lost. Her port de bra is at times very shallow, it lacks any depth or expression. I don't feel she was ready for this role.
Perfect role for her. She performs it beautifully. Everything is just flowing. I wish you had more expressive face like with larger face features. Because her eyebrows tend to go naturally up for sure looks as if she was always a little bit sad, a pretty small eyes with a small mouth Cricket it's really hard to notice her facial expressions when she performs. On Diana vishneva you can see everything, meeting every facial expression It definitely adds to the performance. Saharovs has also a pretty mousy face. Volochkova had beautiful face features for stage when she was younger. Osipova and obraztsova have small eyes, but such beautiful and expressive features. Maria bulanova has interesting face for stage as well. I know this is not a beauty contest. But if you read the book by Galina ulanova, you can understand. Everyone used to call her a gray Mouse. But she said that was her strong side. She said you can only you can almost draw anything on my face- you can serve me into an Asian woman, you can turn me into a swan, and etc. And when she was transferred from mariinsky to bolshoi theater, she said that she had to put a lot more makeup to make it look more visible so that people can see from further away because it's a larger theater. So for someone who doesn't have very expressive face that she put maybe more Dramatic Makeup
Maria is exquisite, her lines and musicality are stunning.

So true! Maria plays the piano, and I think that shows off.

Phenomenal and flawless in this difficult PDD! Bravo to them both!
Beautiful pair, great partnership in this amazing choreography of Balanchine🎀🥰
Diamonds is my favorite ballet, these 2 dancers are perfect together
gorgeous.
radiant onion yeah 😍
Exquisite. I didn't know Mariinsky dancers could dance Balanchine!
Oh yes, they can. You must see the Symphony in C with Ayupova, Lopatkina an u. Excquisit!
@@susannevollmer2347 I'll look for it!
Very well. You should see Ekaterina Kondaurova in Symphony in C!
I can't find her. Can you send me the link?

Yeah also her face looked kinda dead and bored a lot of the time and she never uses her high demo pointe when rolling through her feet and walking.
Demi pointe*

She even has beautiful hands.
I`m sure Mr. B. would catch her for his Company!
Amazing
BR A A A V A !
Sooo sooo beautiful! This is danced to absolute perfection to the exqusite Tchaikovsky music . The very lastmivement No
The very last movement is tooo lovely!❤️❤️❤️

For my eyes it was too early for her to dance this piece.

I think it's a sad pas de deux, or perhaps I should say the two have a troubled relationship. That certainly came through with Suzanne Farrell.
Unfortunately, Maria stopped publishing videos at her channel. But i don`t mind if you do it instead of her)) Thanks)
Александр Лихов i really wish she’d post some more exclusive footage, but i’ll happily do what i can! i’m the hugest fan of masha
she hasn't stopped.
Those two passé's into penche , 2:30, were super sketch.
She is better for gymnastics which she studied for Xander is the ⭐ star
Khoreva is a real artist. Alas, her short arms/wrists will not allow her to rise to the stratosphere of Lopatkina and Smirnova.
I'm sorry, but what a WA comment to make, of all things 😒
Her tutu is too short ... makes her look like a child.
Maria is getting worse and worse, no energy, artistic expression and no spirit, just a sequence of beautiful poses
She was only 19 in this video.
@@pricla777 now she is awful
