- Thank you for watching. This episode I go back to Rome to explore the streets and squares and one of my favourite authentic restaurants. The second hand furniture arrives for our bedroom. We pick wild kale and spend quiet simple days in the garden with our toddler.

Every day I get so many emails and comments asking why you can’t locate the music I use or find it using Shazam. I purchase music licenses for almost all the music you hear in my videos. I buy them them from various royalty-free production music sites and most of the time they don’t list the performer because it’s music made only for film productions with an audio watermark throughout the entire track, unless you purchase the single-use license for $50-100 per track. I use a lot of opera so often I’ll reference the opera but I won’t be able to direct you to a recording of that specific performance that you could stream or buy on iTunes or Spotify. Hope that clears things up and thank you for appreciating quality music.

Your son is adorable. I love how you include him in all your activities and how he does his bit to help. So much healthier than the look-don't-touch method. 🙋🏼♀️🇨🇭💕
I wish I had been more like that with my children.
Hi Kylie, it’s so good to watch your husband hugging you; there’s something about the way Italians hug their woman that is really goooood. So, you have something precious, it’s like a sanctuary. ❤Hug as much as possible, kiss with your soul, and keep that sanctuary forever❤️
The white wardrobe is lovely and melts into the wall making the room look bigger than a large dark wood one. It is all coming together.
Watching your son help you is so lovely. He is so smart and going to be such a blessing to your every day life!!❤
He is a very bright little boy! I think he's going to be a farm to table chef one day.
Your videos are my little escape from the crazy world Thank You ❤
Yes I so agree 💯 percent ♥️
I have lived in Rome for many years and I still wake up every day like a boy completely enamored with this city. It's difficult to accurately convey in words the joy that your videos bring me, Kylie. 😊
😊😊😊
What a smart little baby boy! It fills me with smiles to see him move about and organize things. I just love him!
I love how much your little one helps you around the house, and how much you teach him, makes me think how smart and such a quick learner he is!! Adorable ❤
Hello Kylie, I’m enjoying your renovation updates and recent furniture delivery. I’m a designer in the United States and really think these ideas would make your main bedroom look FANTASTIC! - 1) Floor to ceiling tapestries hung on a long rod behind your bed, hung from inside door frame to inside door frame. It would hide the odd door behind the bed, help to ground the bed's headboard and add softness and drama to the bedroom. You could buy the ones you’ve seen and love, or find a fabric similar to the look and have large fabric panels made to use. - 2) Above the fireplace hang an OLD oval mirror or an old mirror with soft corners. You can always replace it later with a piece of artwork, but a mirror would look and work really well in that space. It’s dramatic, reflects light and isn’t too much for the room. - 3) As for the bedside tables…I think two matching tall lamps, old brass, with smaller shades would look really nice. Add a little plate or low rimed basket on each of the side tables for miscellaneous bedside item, and you’re set. - I look forward to seeing your room with everything you’ve selected in place. Good luck with your project and enjoy the process! Sincerely, Sheryl. :)
Great ideas!
I really like your ideas especially the one about a tapestry above the beds to pull them together but I visualize one long horizontal piece above the bed. And she wanted a tapestry fabric in the room but all that fabric maybe too much for their very warm climate. But a large horizontal tapestry found in a flea market would work well giving age and romance to the room.
Also Kylie the black ovals on your bed are for a miniature portrait of each of you as to which side of the bed is yours. 😉 You should paint them or have an artist paint your portraits to celebrate your new family.
Your brilliant oval mirror suggestion inspired that comment 😊
Fantastic ideas. When I look at the bed I saw a beautiful tapestry hung behind as well and your idea of the mirror above the fireplace would reflect the image of the tapestry to be seen as you sit in bed reading or having a morning coffee. With respect to the lamps I thought that you need to bring in something other than wood or metal as you have a lot of that already so something made of glass pottery or porcelain with lamp shades of forest green. Looking forward to seeing the finished room. 🤗🇦🇺
Oh Kylie, Gianfranco is precious! You are a wonderful parents and as his mama you are doing a wonderful job…the way you let him help and the attention he has to detail and how his listens to your every word in Italian and English, incredible! 🌸💙
This was the sweetest film yet. A tender microcosm of your world. It had a very good arc from past to present. Such sweet memories.
Oh, such a wonderful segment! I get so much joy watching the relationship you have with your little boy and the love in your husband’s eyes for you! You are so full of life and positive energy and you bring joy to everything you do! Thank you for being such a beautiful, bright light in this world!
Such an industrial and particular little sweetie. He’s so intelligent and willing to get in there and help. I love it! Thanks for allowing us to watch him grow. You’re doing such an amazing job.
Your son seems to be very smart and I like how you’re raising him in tune with nature and not afraid of him getting all dirty. Your videos are always very inspiring and make me want to be in Italy right at this moment. Like you, I love everything Italian, vintage and antique things and rustic houses/villas. Thank you for making and sharing beautiful things.
I feel like I’m watching a fusion of a movie, combined with a documentary of your experiences, that is in your mind but you’re sharing with us! Thank you!
The intro was so romantic. Especially when you and Guido walked after lunch ♥️
Later, when all the furniture was placed, my husband said, “I’d hang a big Italian tapestry behind the main bedroom headboard”
Deco lamps to go with the chandelier.
Gianfranco is such a sweetheart very helpful at his age trying his very best to help Mama. Love you sweet Angel.❤ .
This has been a really long and cold winter here in alaska. I’ve rewatched so many of your videos and they have got me through it with a relaxed soul. It’s been my medicine. Thank you for making so many gorgeous videos, they literally affect our lives❤
♥️♥️♥️♥️
Yes ❤I also do this regularly
Wow, Jon Franco has a great eye for balance. I think a creative artist is born. How lovely.
Sending loving and peace-filled thoughts to everyone.
This was such a charming video. Your furniture looks lovely, and you have quite a selection of bedside lamps! Can't wait to see what you finally choose. But the best part is watching your son help you in the garden and kitchen. You are creating wonderful memories, and how nice your parents can share these moments with you.
Eartha Kitt and a bittersweet stroll in Roma. . . sigh! ❤ Gianfranco is such a clever boy! Lamp #17 complements the headboard and is high enough to spread the light. 🥰
Love the wardrobes! My eye wants the battiscopa around that little alcove to the left of the bed to achieve some symmetry with the door to the right. Gianfranco blowing on the dandelions was so sweet! 😊
Beautiful, dreamy, hazy film - lovely to see you back in Rome and also to see Jon Franco enjoying nature and to see your parents with you - that light!! Has lifted my spirits on a damp, cold, rainy day in England. Thank you Kylie ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Ahh only you Kylie could take us on a magical cinematic journey to Rome…so beautiful!
Thank you! ❤
Love how well the wardrobe in your bedroom blends into the walls, as if built in! The smaller one is so beautiful…antique pieces really brings such character to a home. What I would do for that view outside my window too! 🥰
Kylie, Love the new antiques. If I may make a suggestion? Your mood board could be achieved by putting a tapestry behind the bed, a standing Roman statue in the alcove and a large old masters style art piece above the fireplace. Take your time a find them at a price you can afford. Maybe an inherited piece from your in-laws? Almost there so enjoy the process. The white armoire is practical but not quite right for the master. Could you use an adjacent room as a master dressing room? Still need an antique chair and maybe a bench? Get your bed in order and the lights will follow. The hunt for the perfect piece is always ongoing in life so your house will change over time based on finding those treasures. Fortunately you both enjoy looking. Also maybe hold off on the expensive rug and get the tapestry first before picking a rug out? So happy for you both!
Also is the alcove a closed up doorway to another room? Opened up that would be a great master dressing room. Remember luxury is space.
Your little son is so clever! So sweet tidying your shoes away. And delicately placing the fruit on he cake. Adorable X
What a clever and thoughtful boy, so cute to see him put the oranges on the cake and later directing you how to put them! Thanks for another beautiful video Kylie :)
The shot of your family with the Tuscan landscape behind them is incredibly stunning 👌🏾💗✨️ Always a pleasure watching your content 😊
I never knew I’d love Rome so much. But it’s so varied. Old and new. Busy and slow. Opened and yet closed. It truly is eternal.
Kyle, you can add a vintage tapestry behind the bed to hide those little doors! I've seen people doing and it looks great! You can find some reasonably priced ones in thrift shops. Then you can add a vintage picture above the fireplace. For the lamps, I'd go for a skinny, simpler design, not too tall one. Your bedside tables are very high and you have a lot of details on the bed headboard and chandelier already. It is all coming together very well, good job!
Dear kylie i realy wish you and your family all the best you are a well mached couple very classy yet down to earth people i wish you a wanderfull future love from a 60 years old italian in london uk
A breath of relief. Sitting in an ugly rainy German city watching this.
Hi, I read this comment yesterday and it stuck with me. I had to come back to say this: there are no ugly towns. It’s the way you look at them. I just passed through Germany a week ago and found really enchanting places, small towns, little villages surrounded by forests and plain fields. Feel inspired by these beautiful videos and find beauty around you.
I live in northern part of Sweden and it’s cold, really cold but the frozen forest covered in pristine, white snow is as magical as the Tuscan fields. It has its own beauty and magic. Hope this helps a little.
Ideas for your bedroom: Could you put wall sconces on each side of the bed. Also, what will you do behind the bed? An idea could be to put drapes all across that wall behind your bed would be so beautiful.
Your son is growing up and smart and adorable! Bedroom is looking great. Have you thought about putting a tapestry behind your headboard to disguise the door opening? I think you should stay away from wrought iron in the lamps because it competes with the headboard. Loved your shoot of Rome, great job! ❤
I love this video with your precious son. How he helps you so diligently..he reminds me of my son when he was that age, with light colored hair shining in the sunlight. Brought tears to my eyes, remembering how he used to be .. ❤thank you Kylie.
Hanging lights over small night tables looks really lovely.
I think you'd like hanging lamps or sconces also. Besides the look, it's nicer to read by, the light is higher and shines on your book. ❤❤❤
Gianfranco is absolutely precious! I love watching children take delight in doing the simplest of things.
You! Your videos. Filming. Husband. Son. Family. Fine foods and art. Deep-thought provoking talks. Italy. Adventures etc. Are classic, unique and original! As well as fabulously and wonderfully delightful, beautiful and blessed!! We love you Kylie! Keep on being you! ❤
I think the 1st lamp is fitting perfectly! The bed and the main lamp catch the eye with all the patterns and this side stand lamp does not distract with too much going on! Your son has the same delicacy that you have, it is awesome to watch! Blessings from Austria!
Hi kylie, love seeing your baby boy. It amazes me how much he observes and does things on his own. He's very smart. A true country boy.
Cities are great to explore walk around but there is nothing like going back to the country side, I can relate ! Love that you are giving these amazing pieces of furniture a second perhaps third life, it is as if they were meant to be in your home ... showing your beautiful son the soothing warmth of grass under his tiny feet, everything is magical for him to explore, your videos are like soup for the soul, thank you so very much !!!!!
Yes, the countryside is the most beautiful part.
I was an exchange student in Rome in the early 90's. The time before Instagram and FB. We were back there last March 23' with my wife and teens (17 & 19) who are now about the same age as I was when I first came to Rome. They got a glimpse of the Italian slow living when we stayed with my host family in Soriano. Nostalgico!
Love the pediment on the cupboard between the windows
I would now raise the curtain poles to the same height as the cream wardrobe to create visual harmony and add only a pom pom trim (in cotton or cotton velvet) to your linen curtains....Your son is so sweet, innocent and creative and his bilingual language development is wonderful to behold....amazing to see the journey from that little cupboard of a flat in Rome via Australia, Florence, Covid and to your current, lovely family home. I wonder if your Mother is starting Gianfranco on Greek and whether your Father has started teaching him "No worries" and other Ozzie expressions.....I am really happy for you that you hung onto your visioning and your dreams of "la dolce vita"
You need a beautiful dressing table with a delicately adorned mirror (one in the middle with two smaller at the sides) on which you can have your personal items. 😊 maybe sentimental perfume glass bottles etc...
Regarding your questions...for the alcove, how about exposed rustic shelves in the same tone as the antique hutch? You can put books, pictures, candle, plants, vases, artwork, sculpture, etc. Not as functional as a shoe closet, but it might break up all the storage cupboards. The bedside tables are quite small for lamps. Something narrow and tall may work or, how about swing arm wall lamps in the same tone of brass as the finials on the bedposts with matching brass shades? Or, you can swap out for fabric shades when you need the change. A nice rustic basket next to the bedside table with blankets would soften things up too. It's a very pretty room with a lot of soul. :)
I loved the metal candle stick style lamp with the cream pleated shade ,so simple but elegant x
Dear Kylie,
Your selection of music to accompany the tour of your trip to Rome was so romantic. You are truly an amazing videographer as well. Simply loved it all! Sincerely, Canadian Colleen
Beautiful as always! I would prefer a glass night light and stay away from anything heavy looking. You already have the hefty wrought iron bed frame and wooden furniture. You could even go with 2 wall sconces with simple glass shades to allow for more surface space on your night stands. ✨❤️✨
Yes, wall sconces was what I thought best, leaves space on the night stands for essentials, e.g, water glass, clock, even, flowers, lol! ✨❤✨
on the other hand, the walls are so pretty now would be a shame to drill into them, how about small bedside hanging chandeliers, as you are having electrician for the blue chandelier they can hook up these also? : )
P.S. the blue chandelier goes perfect with the blue rug you have chosen, can't wait to see them both together! cheers for your beautiful master bedroom and bath, just spectacular and so appropriate for your home!
Beautiful Rome and I can see it's the off season and perhaps less crowded. What are the doors behind your headboard? A smaller tapestry to scale would cover them. The little man is too sweet for words. Loving everything your doing with the house.
Another beautifully, filmed video Kylie. Love your taste and how your home is gradually , coming together. Always so relaxing to watch, and wow how you can turn out the most amazing cakes , bread , food presentation, I could go on, and Gianfranco's helping you, so gently, what a lovable little character. Thank you for sharing .
What a precious little boy🥰🙏 I am just in awe of him, it shows that you raise him with the same love, kindness and patience that shines trough your videos ❤
“Oh, this tune, these pictures, this town called Rome, where one day I let go of my heart.”
I would put a piece of artwork over the bed to hide those small doors. And a beautiful mirror or artwork over the fireplace. Your visit to Rome looked so wonderful! What a great life you are giving Gianfranco! Blessings to you and your family.
Of course we totally understand that your lovely son is not being shown but he’s an absolute bundle of joy to watch him with his little run 🫶♥️♥️✨. May he grow up in an environment of health and happiness under the beautiful Tuscan sun with his loved ones around him…….sending so much love your way, Rania 🫶
Since the tables are small, I suggest wall sconces. If you go w table lamps...no metal or scrolls because they would compete and take away from the beautiful metal bed frames. I would op for a lamp w a pottery base and a plain silk shade in a color of your choice. The American educator, John Dewey's most well known phrases and ways of educating is "Learning by doing" and that is obviously how you are educating your little one. He is so focused for a young child and learns so quickly ...truly amazing. Kudos to you and Guido!
The small glimpse tells me your baby looks like his daddy! So sweet! What a cutie he is.
Thank you. It was wonderful to take a break from renovating MY ruin! Love seeing you with your family and your beautiful, inquisitive, intelligent son! Also, cannot wait to visit Rome one day soon. I have only had the 'pleasure' of the airport!😁❤
I went to Rome 20 years ago. I feel you, so many memories and knowing that time will be so treasured and Rome will never be the same. Your life in the countryside is a dream of mine. Well deserved Kylie. You bring so much beauty and joy into this world. So happy for you and your lil family 🙏💚🕊️
What a smart and gorgeous son you have, Kylie!! Beautiful family!!❤
If you get a second hand side table, get something a little bigger, so you can add the side bed lights to make your room cozier. That chandelier, not sure if it belongs there. However, I think you both bought great pieces, and your bedroom will be elegant as you both are. Check pictures online of different styles of bedrooms, and see each one matches better with your style, then add plants, your love, and you’ll be satisfied. ❤❤❤
That first lamp is what we have. It is hammered steel. We chose it because our granddaughter like to pull things off the bedside table. It has never broken, never dented and never hurt her. Things you learn as a parent the hard way is buying heavy breakable table lamps.
Kylie thank you for sharing with us the beauty of your life. Your videos sweep me away to La Dolce Vita. You have a gift!
Your a great storyteller! Thanks for your version of Roma!
Your child brings so many tender memories. Enjoy
I thoroughly enjoyed watching your son’s placement of the orange slices on cake! The lamps with the iron base and the stone base seem like a match for your space. Thank you for sharing 😊
The lamp before the green glass lamp, or the one after that one. Your son is an angel!
Exciting renovations! I’m an interior designer, so this really speaks to me. 😊 I would love to see a large tapestry behind your headboard to conceal the storage closet doors. Over the fireplace I would place only rotating assortment of small framed art, flowers, small mirror, statuettes, candles, etc. As always thank you for sharing your journey
Kylie…your standard of excellence in film is apparent each week. Thank you. It’s always a joy to enjoy Italy from the view of your camera lens.
You might consider having lamp frames fabricated in wrought iron to pickup/match the rose in your bed frames. Max height of each lamp to match the apex of the top of the bed frame. Whatever you decide you have a good sense of geometry, design and visual balance.
All the best to you and your family. Enjoy a beautiful spring in Tuscany.
Lamps, lamps, lamps:) With so much metal on the bed an chandelier abobe, go with one of the ceramic stone looking lamps. Or soften up the metal of the beds by hanging a gathered fabric behind the beds and two wall sconce through the fabric. The bonus will be that your sweet little son can't topple a sconce.
Kylie you are the most beautiful mother just love watching you interacting with your son. So look forward to my weekly vlog with you.
😘😘😘
How lovely to feel the sun through your camera on a wet and stormy dark day in the UK. Loved the trip to Rome and the arrival of the wardrobes. Couldn't believe how two such contrasting styles fit so well. I would definitely buy lamps that complement the bedframe. If Gianfranco turns out to be half as good a cook as you, he will be very accomplished!
For the lamps, I would go with tall and thin, perhaps a black iron like the bed.Your son is adorable and I found him so clever to fill in the empty spots on the cake!
After a Romantic Cozy Italian 5 Star celebration of my Sweetheart’s birthday last night, I was in such a dreamy state of mind this morning and here lone behold - you my dearest Kylee wake me up prior to a 10 hour day at work with more “Dreamy Delightfulness” to fuel the rest of my week. I love you and your gift of sharing the beauty and joys of everyday life. Thank you from Whidbey Island Karen
🥰🥰🥰🥰
Beautiful video, Kylie! I loved being transported to Italy and enjoy the warm weather, gorgeous scenery and very loving family! I adore your parents! Gianfranco is adorable! God bless you all!🤗❤️
What a treat for me it was today on my day off to see that you posted your video ❤your son is adorable and he’s so bright! Those little chubby arms and feet and him trying to blow the dandelions…oh my goodness🥰 thank you so much for sharing
The first part of your video about the Rome you once know and your travels to being te person you are today, just beautiful! Stay the course!
3:19 " I had hundreds of invites, Hundreds of Suitors".....wow, you must have been busy rejecting them all!! 🤣
Your boy is brilliant and adorable 🥰! What a great life you and Guido are creating. Hope fulfilled is the harvest you are now gathering from hard down seeds in days and years past.
Also, thank you for taking us along to bella Roma! It’s been over 13 years since my last trip there.
The first 2 minute video intro with a Morgan Freeman narrators voice would make the perfect tv commercial for Visa, similar to the Visa commercial that aired during the Winter Olympics featuring Julia Mancuso. " When Kylie Flavel wanders the streets of Rome on a furniture shopping spree, she carries Visa, and so should you".
I love how you remind me to enjoy life’s pleasures. You have been so patience with your bedroom. The wardrobe is lovely. I feel like the room is unbalanced with the light wardrobe. Maybe some wallpaper on the doors, or even artwork.( I hope you don’t mind the suggestion.). You are doing a beautiful job. 💞
I just want to hear more about these multiple proposals talk about a good story
Gianfranco is so adorable and so smart and helpful ,God Bless Him Always xoxo 😘
I remember the dresser - can you digitally imagine the dresser in place of that very tall wardrobe ? With a lovely Italian mirror above it. a place for white feminine flowers, white candles ...
I love Rome, I am first generation Italian, my sons took me to Italy for my 70 th birthday. I want to go back.
I’m so impressed that Gianfranco knew exactly where to put the orange slices on dessert!
so beautiful, I loved seeing all those moments with Gianfranco - especially him blowing the dandelions💚
🙏🏽❤️🤍 What a beautiful soul that chose to be your son!!! So beautifully intelligent!!!🥰🤍🤍🤍 Bellissimo
Viewing your beautiful photos, I felt so nostalgic for Roma. Love your renos and can imagine a tapestry/wall hanging behind your bed, muted enough to let the wraught iron stand out.
The baby is so smart. He is so beautiful. So handsome.
I feel the nostalgia you feel for a pre instagram Rome the way I feel about NYC 15 years ago. Lovely episode! Always feel so much when I watch your videos. Hope I can return to Italy soon.
Your little boy is adorable and so helpful. Seeing him makes me miss my own great grandson who is 2 weeks younger than your littke boy and who now has a baby brother. ❤ ❤❤
I was absolutely warmed by how Gianfranco is so happy and healthy. Your interaction with him in all the daily activities is really beautiful. It brought a tear to my eye that the childhoods of the past can still thrive in the lives of people who are willing to cultivate it for their children. I love the third lamp. It has an old look, the color blends, and it is tall enough to read by and not take up to much room. I also like the marble almost modern-looking lamp as a contrast to the gorgeous ornate headboard. They would play off each other and not compete, and it still is natural, like the metal and wood in the room. Happy choosing! God bless you and your family!
What an outstanding beautiful video of Rome the eternal city and where all roads come to according to the emperors. With regards to your choice for a lamp. I think a small lamp with heavy clear crystal bottom and an off white shade will go well. On one of the night stand you can have a glass fluted vase with a Tulip or a flower that is in season. How nice to be in the country side a bit away from the city. However, having said that I was in Rome more or less 15 years ago it was the beginning of summer and I did not see it as crowded as my metropolitan city Manhattan, New York. You are so lucky to be living there and you are so pretty, amicable, warm, loving to allow us the UA-camrs to see your domain and your projects for making that home filled with joy, lovely furniture in every room, warm and cozy. May God bless your little bimbo he is so adorable and smart and will grow up speaking Italian and English. Just wonderful. All the best.
Ooooooooo A Nice thursday suprise and Treat Thank You ..this Wet Uk Thursday.. I bet its a Nice Break For Yiu Both Too*** Will Watch Fully Later Chiling Cheers Best Wishes Hugs&Love Too Tc UK Xxxx
I think 2 fairly skinny tall antique lamps beside your bed in simple wrought iron or stone would look wonderful on two mismatched simple wood tables! Loved the video and the music! 🤗
I was looking for this this past Friday... and then Saturday! I was hoping all was well with you and your family! Glad to see another video and I'm excited to watch! Thanks for sharing!
Loves all the footage of the baby! So nice to see and we all love babies. He is so productive! It’s like we can already learn from him. ❤
Your words are very comforting. I also live in a foreign country and I still have hope that my dreams realise even I am in reality so far away from it. But maybe I just open a new door to the future and that will be so near to making my visions true. Thank you for instilling the hope again.
Lamps. 3 or 4 or second last one! Oh Kylie, what a beautiful video. Stunning on every level. Gianfranco is growing up so quickly…he’s just adorable. .you’re a great mom. Love the cupboards in the bedroom….I’d put shelving in the corner recess, not another furniture piece. LOVE the idea of a tapestry behind the bed. Perfect! You have created a piece of heaven with your gorgeous family. Grazie Mille! ❤
Μπραβο, bravo, μπραβο, Kylie. Whatever lamp you choose will be perfect. You are loved the way you wished.
