Late reply! But indeed, lychee and passion fruit are used :-) The cook says it adds a nice fragrance to the dish. The utilisation of citric fruit isn't that abnormal, either. Orange juice is frequently added to chicken sauce, and strawberry-balsamic is drizzled over steak!
