Ok..glad I found this. I left a review on the Park on HariMari’s website, but it will never appear. Glad to see you have the Brazo here, because after yesterday, I’ve felt a need to warn people about this one.
I’d literally had 3 (now 5) pairs of flip flops in the last 15 years. 2 rainbows, 1 OluKai. I live in the southeast, and wear flip flops probably at least part of 9-10 months out of the year. My OluKais were finally falling apart, so I thought I’d get something new/different. My neighbor mentioned HM. So I got online and ordered the Park and this exact Brazo in this video. I will say that both were on sale, and maybe their performance is why. The nocona leather ones look nice, and I hope they are much better than what I’ve got.
The Parks: they have a hemp lined footbed,,which I thought might be nice. For me, this hasn’t been good at all. I’ve never realized that my feet sweat as much since I’ve been wearing these. They actually get/feel so wet with sweat that they feel slippery between the foot and sandal. And they actually stink. I’ve never had “smelly feet” but these will actually smell bad. I was kind of shocked. Traction of the soles is pretty good, which makes my next review somewhat perplexing.
The Brazos: also on sale. Water/wet friendly, so I bought a pair to wear at the beach, pool, and wet days outside, walking the dog, etc. The uppers are fine in the water, but more importantly the soles are dangerous on any wet surface that doesn’t have good traction. I had several close calls of slipping in these until last night when I walked over a metal cover of some sort on the street, lost all traction, slipped and banged up my knee, toe, and wrenched my back apparently. They are skate like on any wet surface. Ironically the Park sandal has much better wet traction than the Brazo ...it’s perplexing, like they didn’t test any of these. Yeah, they’re on sale, but the Brazos especially, shouldn’t even be on the market.
I hope the other models perform much better, and I’m sure they do, but I can’t see myself ever buying another HM product, when I know what I can get with an OluKai, which I know performs better and honestly is more comfortable.

Audio.. woof. Thanks for doing a review as I am looking at both brands. However, I recommend a lapel mic and some basic volume equalizing with headphones during editing. Good luck with your channel.

Great job and good review! I use reef sandals, for me are super comfortable and durable, have you ever used these? I think hari mary sandals are the best in quality and comfort. Rainbow as well but they are more worn out. In the case of your pairs of flip flops with the use of them the humidity and sweat, Which ones would you say give a strong smell? How do you clean them? I would like to know or if you do a review of this because many of these materials with water are very delicate.
I like this type of reviews and I would like to keep seeing the progress of your pairs and new reviews or umboxing of new models.

Rainbow without hesitation :-) Only flip flop I've owned for the last 13+ years. I also like Lunar Sandals as well, but not as comfortable as the rainbows... I have yet to find a more comfortable piece of footwear than the Rainbow Sandal.

Moved 10 minutes from the Rainbow store to Texas 7 years ago. On my last pair that I stockpiled before the move. There is a big difference between how the Chinese and US variance of Rainbows feel. Guy that worked there said if the Rainbow bottom is flat, it was made in the US. If its rounded, its from China. Had a pair of rounded ones and they killed my feet for weeks until they were broke in and only lasted a little over a year. My pair of flat ones was a day break in and lasted nearly three years. Have to try these Hari Mari ones!

@@WeTriedIt this is from a few years ago, but anything but Black and Tan colors were definitely made in China. But they also made Black and Tan in China as well
@@ocman11 I just bought a second pair straight from rainbows site and absolute garbage again! WTH I used to buy these from the factory when I lived in Lake Forest and they are all knock offs now. No rubber soles, wide straps and top soles, and bad leather. Mine unglued in one month. The reviews on yelp are saying the same thing.
Any way we could get a follow up video on how are they performing and looking after being worn for a while?(the hari mari pier i mean)
That's a great idea! We'll work on it. The Pier Hari Maris are still looking good - the area where the toes are are slightly darker, but I'll try and see if they can be cleaned at all.

This was a nice review you did. I'm interesting in buying some rainbows. I hear there is a break-in point For the rainbows and can be very discomfort. I'm really concerned about is how wide are they.I have big very very wide feet sz15 6 EEEEEE with very fat wide toe. Is very important to me because that is the only Footwear that I can wear. I cannot find a shoe or a socks That's wide enough to fit my foot. I can barely get flip flops on my feet because of my feet being so wide. It really sucks having a foot that is 6 1/2 inches wide from my big toe to my little toe with toes equally straight across with fat wide toe making it for a very wide foot. If my toes were at a 45 degree angle instead of being straight across I think putting flip flops on will be a little bit more easier. I hear rainbow flip-flops fit tight I'm wondering is that true. It really really sucks having big very very wide feet with wide toes. Thank you for sharing your video.
Would you say the hari mari had a tighter strap like the rainbows do when you first get them? Or do your feet just slide in?

The Hari Mari's are more "stretchy" - so that's good and bad if you want something tight. There will be more "give" in the Hari Mari's because they stretch. However, they will conform to your foot a little better. There is no give on the Rainbows, it's a solid strap. So, if you're looking for something more snug, the Hari Mari's would probably be better from the get go, but they will also be more stretchy. Does that help?

I just hate having to work my foot in the flipflop when walking and do the toes thing where you curl them to grab the flipflops from slipping lol

Should have filmed with a new sample of each. Mediocre audio. Repetitive: how many times do you need to repeat the same information? Rambling dialogue. Basically, just shy of 6 minutes to say HM is comfortable right away and Rainbow needs breaking in but will last longer. Nothing said about construction or key features. This was hardly an "exhaustive" review or comparison. The only forethought associated with this video was gathering one of each flip flop. Someone was eating toast one morning and thought "I'll make a video." Try scripting next time. Gather information. Use index cards with bullet points. Rehearse.
