You know with a game like Streets of Rage there isn't much you can do with it in a speedrun. There isn't really any glitching, even cheesing the enemies to death is time consuming. This is one that's really all skill. I just ran through it about 3 minutes ago on Normal (Axel). I don't know my time however. It was fast until I got to the last set of twins (I hate them so much). Especially when the RNG 99% of the fight through the damn door. I actually had to let them kill me so I didn't time out. Good run man, good run. I have never seen anyone throw the twins at the same time...I'm going to have too try that!
I still remember the 1st time me and bro made it to the final boss Mr.X and we saw that the player has to make choice and all the text is in Japanese we were laughing so hard and ended up selecting wrong option and were thrown back to stage 6 🤣🤣🤣 Till this day I find it stupidly funny that entire game is properly localised in English text, how in the world they forgot to localise the most important text of the game and left it in Japanese 😝😝😝 But all said n done this game is really greatest of all time 👍🏼👍🏼
It'd be awesome to be able to speedrun this in under 20 minutes. You could start playing once you put dinner in the oven, and it'd be ready once you beat the game! Now THATS convenient!
Hard to say. In 2016 I completed 195 full runs, plus about 700 resets at some stage, plus untimed and unrecorded practice. And I have been playing this game on and off since late 1990-s.
Press left (or right) while holding B after second kick. Also correctly timed kick will route the roaming enemy away from you (in the video, once I did it correctly and once I failed). Final boss is killed with the same trick, although timings are a lot harder because of 2 roaming enemies.
Could you imagine if you played that boss battle music in a pta meeting or a mall with dad's how triggered they'd be? I would be for sure. There wouldn't be any doubt in my mind I wouldn't square up in the center of the play area. Just sayin

Not really. At the final level of the game, it automatically takes away the specials from you. Mainly because the final level is an endurance round. Trying to test the strengths of the player.

Yes, and that's what it makes enjoyable to watch, there's no dope move that hit kill enemies, i really like this speedrun.
You can skip the entire round 8 with 1 player - 2 characters glitch, but these runs are moved into separate category.
Time limits be too damn short had a perfect run until the time runs out.
