Thank you yet again for introducing me to a part of this amazing world I never would have known otherwise. Especially appreciate the honest portrayal of good/bad sides of what on the surface appears to be paradise. Such an enriching adventure makes all of us now relegated to virtual travel very envious.
What a treat Mayotte turned out to be. This video made us realise how many fabulous places we blithely sail on by obliviously. Thanks for capturing it and sharing it so well.
Ha ha did you watch this with the Sonrisas? comments 1 minute apart?!? Unfortunately it is impossible to visit everywhere in one season, but you can places to the list for the 2nd lap ;-) (Tanzania is one of those places for us)
@@SailingYachtFlorence Haha, no, we watched it eating a breakfast sausage sarnie with HP sauce in bed dealing with our hangovers (A Florence video and comfort food...bliss!) And last time I checked, there were definitely no Sonrisa's under the covers 🤣 Just coincidental timing!
Matt and Amy, you truly are head and shoulders above all the other sailing channels. Thank you for being true blue sailors, actually sailing around the world and taking me along. I have watched all your episodes from the beginning and am now very excited because you are about to visit my country, South Africa. I live in Johannesburg but have been travelling into the African bush for twenty years in my 4x4. I am excited to see footage about South Africa and to hear your thoughts about a country that has been through an enormous amount of corruption (in excess of R1 trillion) mainly by the ANC government in the past decade, but still somehow manages to retain a charm and allure that keeps my wife and I here. There is a huge diaspora out of the country by middle class professionals - around 90,000 people a year - and that includes my two children. For all that, it is a beautiful country with many amazing people. I hope you enjoy a wonderful time here with us.
Thanks Grant :-) We are actually a few months ahead of the videos and already in South Africa. Everybody has been very kind to us and we are having a great time.
Hi Amy and Matt. This video brings back fond memories, as I sailed for 15 years in Mayotte and Madagascar. The trimaran I built to explore the desert lagoons of Madagascar is called “Trimaki”, from “Trimaran and Maki”!
Enjoyed watching this episode 2 x this time with our visiting 18 yr old grandson Andy! He loves seeing your video adventures, due to COVID isolation and my husband kidney Transplant 2 yrs ago we Need To See The World vicariously-🤩😬🙋♀️😎Lemurs where delightful Andy loves wild animals the turtles of the planet colorful fish 🐠 corals ! Thanks 🙏🏻 for your Generosity sharing your adventures with families isolated like ours 😍👋🙋♀️🤩
My favorite travel channel. You two are showing places in the world most of us never knew about. And you bring a great sense of adventure which make your video's such a joy to watch.
You guys are truly modern explorers, kind of 21 century conquerors. thats something noy very common to find these days, specially in young couples like you are. I know you ll make back to England. What a beautiful place Mayotte is, thanks for your video, you guys enjoy yourselves, wish you the best, blessings, Rgs
Hi Amy and Matt. We have really enjoyed your videos. We only discovered your Channel a couple of weeks ago and have now binged watched them all since then. You have introduced us to a whole new world of genes, spinnaker, jibs etc and created lots of discussion in the house. The drone footage is excellent. We look forward to your next video. Stay safe and good luck with the passage to South Africa.
The comments say and at the same time explain all. It's too late to comment, yet it still applies. So well done and absolutely will watch every video you post, may you continue to live your dream...
Been able to follow up on all these episodes and I must admit, crossing the oceans is not for faint hearted, it requires passion and determination, I have really enjoyed and I have virtually toured with you Matt n Amy.....waiting for the other episodes . This is lovely.....all the best
Of all the sailing channels I visit on UA-cam Sailing Florence is the most literate, informative, and reasoned. Thanks for sharing your adventure and your lives with us!
Entertaining, educational, comprehensive, cinematic and very inspiring. Quite easily one of the best UA-cam Sailing Channels! Thank you Matt, Amy and Florence, I appreciate you!
Once again, another Happy place to visit!! You two do such a wonderful job with the video editing and the educational tutorial of where you are. Just love it! Travel safe.
Amaizing channel. You have ignited a desire in me to get adventurous and overcome sea sickness 😀 looking forward to your next episode. Safe travels to South Africa 🇿🇦
Another fantastic video to watch. My list of places to visit when I set out is getting longer. Praying you have favorable winds on your way to Africa. God bless and good fortune.
Too cool for school! Wait! No, this is school! I love sailing to anchor, dock, or mooring! It’s just good for the spirit, if you ask me, which no one did….. I also love the bonus stop. Great video, thank you! Fair winds and following seas!
You put so much of your heart into these videos, sharing a rarely visited place like Mayotte, but now the word is out, knowing other sailors will follow in your wake.
Wellcome to South Africa. So please to see your on your way. BUT please be CAREFUL in South Africa. You purse and belongings and don't trust any one. Just be careful!!!!. But you love it in Cape Town. And you must go on up to Table Mountain. That is a great trip.🙋🏻♀️🙋🏻♀️🙏🙏take care be save!
I’ve just became used to the quality of your videos . They are excellent and always a pleasure to watch. Thank you . Thought it as worth a mention. Could be the red wine talking 😉🇫🇷🇫🇷🇫🇷
Another great and informative insight into a country off the beaten track. Thanks as always for sharing your journey. Keep up the brilliant videos. They are greatly received from a cold and wet England!
Matt and Amy, Thank you for the tour of Mayotte. I know where I am going if I am ever in the area. Great videography! Thanks again. Stay safe and God Bless. Cheers,
what a GREAT episode to watch while on board a cargo ship in the North Atlantic, makes me feel warm a little. This is the best episode lately, i feel like you guys are in a rush and don't explore as much as you use to do, anyway no matter what, i wish all the best and safe sailing! 🍻🍻
Your underwater photography was amazing - well done. So pleased that you enjoyed Mayotte. Bon voyage for your trip down the Mozambique channel and welcome to South Africa.

Wow what a day, morning coffee with UMA, lunch with RAN, and ice cream with FLORENCE. I just don't think it could get any better.
Ha ha, seem like we all follow a lot of the same channels, check out free range sailing if you havent already
I got Zatara as well,
Uma and Florence are the best. Everything else is second or third tier.
@@garyb9473 agree! No babies. No kids. No dogs. Just sailing and adventures.
The fact that you guys are always laughing and smiling is very telling.
You two salty kids! I love how you use oars rather than an engine and your minimalist style. World ambassadors. Stay safe always.
Proper travel documentaries... and sailing... doesn't get much better. Thank you guys, stay safe.
