Hey guys! Noticed this is still getting some traction so I’ve left a few links to what I used in the description. Also you could join my company’s telegram to ask me some questions(“about the company, not blockchain development XD”). The token isn’t out yet, but we’re trying to build out the community. Links in the description!!
You are a legend man!
@@jhamar Nah “YOU” are a legend
You should Create something on the Ethereum Classic network. 👍
How much did the first course cost?
@@noahfadah7337 everything except Udemy was free
That was wonderful!! Thank you. I quit my job teaching high school to become a developer, and through a roundabout process, I have, like you, settled on blockchain development. I am very inspired right now. Thank you again!!
I really want to do this. I have zero coding experience but I do love computers. I really think I can do this I just don't have any clue wear to begin. Any advise?
How did you do that?
Wow @cryptozebras, that's quite a leap! Congratulations.
Congrats!
Hey CryptoZebra, how's your journey been 6 months later? Embarking on a similar path.
Congratulations on your Blockchain Developer position! Your story is an Inspiration to me and I look forward to learning about coding and web development and this new financial system were integrating into. So much to learn and the best time is to get in early just like You. Thanks again for the information! Take care
In a nutshell:
* CS50 -> Problem Solving is required, or any university level course in computer Science , ( waterloo U , Standford and MIT have open lectures on it )
* Flutter & Dart The complete guide , but... any js framework React , Vue, NextJs could be fine.
-> African Developer Masterclass -> A Solidity Bootcamp from Binance ( This one, but could be other way , not suitable for other nationalities i guess )
Thank you Obinna.
Thanks for shortening this for everyone! I’m still a beginner so might make little sense to do a whole video on it XD
Appreciate you sharing your story!! Loved the video and we are all rooting for you lad
I really enjoyed this video and hearing your story about how you got into blockchaim development!
I am a software engineer myself, I have been working "regular" developer jobs so far but recently quit my job to live abroad and travel. Blockchain development has caught my eye for a while, thanks for the insights!
Also, you're doing great with making videos! I started doing YT a couple months ago too so I know how hard it is :D But I would have never guessed you're new to this if you hadn't mentioned it! Also, your light setup is extremely nice
Aww thanks so much for the kind words. I heard Cardano are doing a plutus pioneer programme to teach people for free, I’ve applied already on their website. Hope I see you there too!!
Thank you so much for sharing. I’ve been wanting to start my journey as a blockchain developer. This has really helped. Thanks much
Thank you so much for motivating me to learn CS50. I was very confused and don't know what to do but your video clarifies my vision.
DUDE!!! Few things are more awesome than seeing a fellow blockchain dev who looks like me, you're brilliant bro!
You rock!
BLOCKCHAIN DEV FROM MIAMI, USA 💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾👨🏾💻👨🏾💻👨🏾💻 love to see my ppl around the world make it happen
Super interesting story Obinna, thanks for sharing I might just delve into CS50
So glad I came across this video. I work as a developer for a while and now I'm on the journey to learn about blockchain development.
Good job, man. And thank you for sharing
how's it going man?
Thank you so much for this video! I just found out that I did not pass my entrance exam for veterinary uni and it's been a while that coding/tech videos have been coming up on my fyp and I got interested and really wanna give it a shot. I was really scared to start this new chapter of my life since I have zero knowledge about technology but u rally gave me hope!!
Inspiring man, thank you for sharing. I am myself starting the journey!
Hey Obinna! Very inspiring! Very interested to see how you do in the future.
Dude that's such a great story, congrats. Very inspiring stuff!
Thank you for the advice and focusing on a certain language, Blockchain is the future and was wondering how to get into developing on it, appreciate you taking the time out to share, it has helped me a lot
Best of luck with your future plans
Great video! Thanks for the CS50 recommendation.
Oh my god.. you are a guide to me man. I am from a financial background.. and I have been interested in learning solidity but was always scared .. and you .. you did it .. you are an inspiration
Great video! Im interested in leaning more about blockchain technology and the potential of leaving my PhD experience behind. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you for sharing this with us and congratulations on your job.
Thanks for the inspiration! I am going to start the Cs 50 when I’m finished exams in 2 weeks :) respect. Really cool to hear your story
Cs 50 contains what bro?? I don't know...please tell me
@@cherrywork you learn the fundamentals of programming with C. And then start using these principles in JavaScript and Python. You definitely don’t use a lot of it in app development. But helps build solid fundamentals and allows you to learn other things much quicker.
@@ObinnaWGMI hi should i do the problem set at cs50? Do I really need it?
Really great, young man. Looks like l need to go back to programming again.
Thanks for making this video, you seem to be a humble guy, which is rare among developers, let alone blockchain developers... Subscribed.
Good job sir ! Congratulations on your accomplishments ❤
"Willing to learn" can actually get you jobs. I remember my days when i underestimated the power of "Don know this stuff much but willing to learn and put in the effort", which i picked up from a random tech Tedtalk. But it's amazing some companies will actually give you the Jr. Dev role for your willingness to learn.
Hey bro, very proud of you! I am in Kingsland's code bootcamp now, I finished Full-Stack last year, and now I'm trying to do Blockchain Development. Just started on solidity(having a hard time understanding uints but I'll get there) and writing Smart Contracts.
Hello Obinna! Thank you for sharing your journey. I surely grabbed alot. I'm working towards being a Blockchain developer
Congratulations bro I hope everything works out your way
And keep growing
I hope so too
Great stuff brother. Keep moving higher.
Hey Obinna,
Thanks for this video!
That’s motivational! Thanks a lot for sharing 🙏
Awesome personal story! Thank you for your naturalness and sense of humor. Just thinking about web3 as junior js-dev. Trying to find an area wich I'll like in this tremendous field of opportunities.
Greetings from Minsk, Belarus😎
This is awesome man! You were prepared when the blessing came in!
Haha I guess that’s the definition of luck
So expressive and real, no make-ups.....Obinna, you're so inspiring! Just finished learning the basics of Java, and I'll appreciate someone to mentor me; I want to be an AI engineer
Very happy for you this is amazing!
Fantastic Video! I'm not exactly trying to be a blockchain developer but I'm trying to get into Automation Testing and I've always been worried that I have to know everything to land a job but after speaking to many people and seeing this video it's calmed me down in knowing that you don't need to know everything just understand the fundemantals and be willing to learn and it will be more than enough.
Thank you.
What motivates you to be automation tester? Just curious?
This is so inspiring for me much more because I am currently in the exact shoes you were in a year ago
Thanks alot Obinna
congrats brother and Ja bless im bouta do exactly what you said cs50 first and go from there appreciate the info
You’re story is inspiring, it is making me rethink some things.
You're an inspiration really. Thanks for sharing your story.
I like the way you're transparently sharing your 1 year learning process
Great video
I appreciate that!
Hi man! I've seen your video about one month after I got into programming and even if I did not use the resources you've talked about, I got inspired by this genuine story. 1 and a half years have passed since then and I'm now going on 11 months at my new company as a Solidity Developer. Thanks for the help!
tell me about your educational background bro.. iam thinking to jump into programming stuff.. ihave masters degree in mechanical
@@deep_thoughts I finished highschool and then dropped out of college in the first month of the first year :D. My brain always worked logically and critically, I was going to a lot of contests of math and logic when I was young. Programming fitted me like a glove I guess, altho I never tried it before
I remember being where you are 20+ years ago. I’ve accomplished more than I ever imagined by constantly learning new things and changing with the times.
Good work. Keep soaking up the knowledge it will get you very far.
Good looking my guy!!!! This piece was very informative and applicable
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you for his eye opener. Keep winning🥳
Nice of you to share your experience truthfully and not try to pad it up and make it frightening.I want to learn Blockchain
All you need is a computer, internet connection and lots of patience
Thanks for this video, super inspiring !
Thank you for sharing your story. It was inspirational.
Thanks for sharing your experience. You are inspiring.
You are right about being constant with one framework!! thanks a lot for your insights
Should always learn new technologies, but for beginners, definitely prioritise mastery
wow!! You are on the right track. Keep learning and getting better at blockchain development. Remember when mobile development started and how much money you could make before it got saturated? Blockchain development and web 3.0 is the beginning. It can be very lucrative if you know what you are doing. Good luck!!
It’s actually just the beginning! Thanks for the nice comment!!
Thanks so much for your sharing. I found your video as the most informative on youtube for non-coder like me. Currently I'm struggeling to finish the writing part of phd and also not really fond of what i'm doing. Feel like I was lost then I discovered crypto and blockchain things, i grew interest on the tech and really want to get involved on blockchain industry. I think your video kinda inspiring me to start my journey on learning blockchain. Thank god I found your video. Thank you for inspiring me and share what to learn for starter with no coding experience.
welldone, this is a massive achievement
really encouraging. i am thinking of the similar thing. at present i am doing technical research for a web3 startup. although i have no technical background, just lucky enough to get a job but i somehow desire to learn blockchain, i want to build a product for the mothers community.
I like bro's energy alot. Good vibes.
Been searching for something like this! 👌🏾
Seek and you shall find lol
Thank you for this Video brother!!
Super impressive mate, well done!
Thanks!!
Man you're motivating. I'm currently a aws solutions architect associate as a cloud engineer, I want to learn cybersecurity and solidity programming
Congratulations brother from Argentina!¡
Thank you so much for this ♡
Inspiring. Thank you man
I'm having the same journey. lol. Kudos man.
I'm trying to get better everyday!
Thank you for the video!
Thank you, you've inspired me.
Thank you for the great info!
That’s what I want to do! Blockchain dev! Thanks for the video!
hi, i also wanna become a blockchain dev and ur story is super inspirational - thank you!
Nice Video Obinna.
Great job Obinna!
Merci
Great job Obinna
It's really funny and crazy how I'm watching this a year after. So, currently I've been battling on how to start my coding career especially block chain. I opened my UA-cam again to continue a course I'm watching on simplilearn before algorithm pop up your video. Thanks for this mate. I will pause that and start the CS50. I will come back a year after and tell you what I've achieved 😊😊
Looking forward to the update! Goodluck!!
Would you bring me along? I'm currently looking forward to learning but I have no experience whatsoever and I do not know where to start from... it's been over a month I got a laptop and I do not know where to start from.. I would really appreciate a mentor for a start.
Really enjoyed this video...thank you
Great video, thanks for sharing
Much respect bro, I will have my son watch it
Wow congratulations and great content Obinna. Thank you for putting this out. I'm looking to dive towards this direction (zero knowledge) as you have, but still do not know how to go about it, wondering if you can link the resources you used to learn and if I could keep in touch? Thanks
Well done bro!
Great video, love the details
Great job! I learned and got a job in web dev during the pandemic, and after learning about and investing in crypto I've been interested in learning blockchain as well.
You are incredible my friend
Félicitations !!!!!Vous êtes très inspirants Merci bcp🫶🏼
Damn! Felt like a future version of myself giving direct advice lol.. also did the same python and data science course during pandemic plus i learnt javascript too.. switched to crypto currency and went into crypto trading, defi, gaming etc, and now I’m back to programming.. currently on cs50 week 3 and honestly, this video really boosted my spirit..
Thank you so much.. would love to know if you work remotely from nigeria tho ….Thanks
I'm fully remote yes.
Same 😂
How are you doing now?
This was helpful, thanks.
Talk about running into a fortunate opportunity! Not many are gonna share the same story as you after listening to it but it does give people some hope, I guess
Honestly the Binance certificate is backpacking my lack of experience XD
impressive story bro. thank you
hi, Obinna, your video is really helpful and inspired me a lot, and I decide to start learning from your experience, thank you!
Yesss LOVE to see it
Thank you, Obinna
Great story and thanks for all the added context. It definitely matters as people try to "level themselves" to where you were and where you ended up. The "priors" matter a lot, e.g. PhD in Finance with no coding presents an interesting dichotomy for someone to dig into something new and something technical. I had ZERO programming experience until age 31, I was a bartender, flooring installer, handyman *AND* a former Math/Physics double major grad.
A follow up question to this video would be what sorts of applications are you building as a blockchain developer? What applications do you see as the "main work" right now in the industry?
e.g. Payment APIs? Lending Apps? Or is there this "carte blanche" of all current "Web 2.0" apps that would eventually be candidates to move to Blockchains?
P.S. I'm actually a Data Scientist/Engineer considering new options, such as blockchain developer. So your video has been a nice view on my journey.
Thanks for the comment! I’d say the main work right now is building the foundations to enable fully decentralised applications. As good infrastructure allows more interesting projects that we can’t even think of now, to be created. I don’t think there will be much of a migration of Web 2.0 to Web 3.0. As Web 2.0 does some things really well.
But especially from the vertical of influencer monetisation, Web 3.0 creates a path to monetise communities in a way Web 2.0 by design cannot match. We will definitely see new business models emerge.
I’m currently working on a network token and also a personal project. Don’t know if I can say much about either right now.
Video looks amazing
BE HAPPY BE PROGRAMMER
Godspeed man!
Congrats to you bro
Proud of you big bro
My name sake😁 - Nwannem👍. Good job. New subscriber.
Hahahahah you're just like me i have done JS, Python, and landed on flutter and dropped because i a lot of stuff is confusing which one is better for use in coding a blockchain. Now, i have seen Golang, never tried solidity though....
I also been jumping about bro.... thanks for this video you put out bro. I thought i was the only confused one lol!
9ja!
Thank you. 👊🏾
The vid is quite encouraging thanknu
Instantly inspired to get back on this coding journey. Ty….Do you plan on working remotely? Or are you already doing that?
I am happy to come across this video it’s more like a motivation for me because I am confused as to weds to actually venture in software engineering or data sciences blockchain dev…thanks for this bro…I would really need a mentor for this.
Mentors are good...at least that's what most people say XD. But if you need one, it's best to find one with years of experience
Hey Obinna.
I purposely cam across your video. I've recently developed an interest in Blockchain development and technology. My friend literally explained in layman terms and it piqued my interest. So currently, I've decided to ditch learning front end skills like html, css and the likes and focus more on Blockchain skills.
I researched that learning C++ could be a great step in the right direction. I tried my hands in Python for a while but I didn't really feel comfortable with it. What do you think about C++? Do you have to use for your role as a Blockchain developer?
And also, any pep talk and inside knowledge into the whole Blockchain development world would be really helpful. Thanks so much!!
