Haha make a socom mod for thunder tier one. Add 3rd person and leaning than you are good to go lmao
These devs just really want to batter their heads into the dirt at this point holy crap. Never thought anyone would sink this low though. No professionalism at all.
fans are deeply passionate about the stuff they make so it is no surprise that they last out like that
Bigfry have you looked at a game called Battlebit Remastered?
H-hour has got much better since launch. It's gone from horrible to decent. H-hour has all the popular Socom maps also. I wouldn't of made such a big deal over possibly stealing maps. Its kinda like you saying "No I don't want Socom maps in this Socom like game". Real Socom fans don't give a F how they add in Socom maps as long as they do one way or another. Sony has clearly abandoned Socom fans. Bash on them instead of TI possibly stealing maps. Who the hell cares at this point. I think it's going too far to ban you, but it happened.
Banning players on steam because they had a opinion that the dev not liked is beyond a scumbag move..
Ban does literally nothing in this case. He can just use an alt account.
I know people abuse this word, but it's actual fascistic behaviour.
@@CorndogCrusader finally, a correct use of the term to describe anything other than a stone toss fan.
@@Ozzianman that's not the point lol
@@Ozzianman Except that requires you to repurchase the game.
That store page is the top example of how NOT to market your game😂
For real.. like I can mildly appreciate the honesty about it but ffs.. if you're gonna go through all the legal trouble of scamming people just oversell your game and scam them instead of telling them you're gonna scam them lol
It literally sounds like they want it to fail and die.
Yeah, also there is no marketing for this game. How tf can you not say a single thing for years and then all of the sudden send out an email that the game is coming out this month. There is no hype for this game. Barely any info on the development. Most people probably thought this is another failed project and forgot about it.
@@domflorysty5662 there was tons of announcements for betas n stuff
I would absolutely market a game like this
The dude behind Taskforce has been known by the SOCOM community to be out of his mind insane. He came up with a brilliant mod for original Insurgency and then just took it offline one day without a word to the community. The community involvement part of this video is not even a joke. The dude means literally every word.
I don’t even doubt his honesty here. So I’m not gonna buy the game.
I remember something like this... Can't remember what the mod was called.... ?
What a scumbag developer.
I spoke with him in game while playing Insurgency one night years ago and he sounded like a know it all. Like oh how dare you ask me that question!
I do remember seeing something like a third person or SOCOM mod
@@kyledakilla8724 i met a gamedev like that once. Ppl like that are the worst
gonna have to report this game for not following early access steam rules
as emperor palpatine once told anakin: insert evil voice here: DO IT!!!!
@@afd19850 I reported them. Fuck these guys if they want to rip content from other games. Doesn't matter if it's the same person who created the maps even. He doesn't own the rights to them. Also the whole using Early Access to fund the game thing is crazy.
That store page making me go from “if it was free I’d give it a go” to “you literally couldn’t pay me to play this” is really impressive..
So they want to grab our cash and then flip store bought assets and call it a game. You are so right to call these bottom feeders out for what they are.
100% correct
And the funny thing about those assets. I'm pretty sure a majority of them are either placeholders for aspiring developers. More importantly, I think a lot of them are meant to be used as film props, on account of the fact that visual artists use game engines for film and TV nowadays.
Games like Ready Or Not, Zero Hour have done more with less. GTFO took awhile but is a solid experience. Even EFT and Marauders seem good. Heck, CROWZ and WW3 are better than this...
@@MsFelinaFox I actually have a few of those myself...
@@MsFelinaFox 100%
I donated, they took my money and never gave me a tester key. He said "based on your name you are a troll" What the fuck is that?
Im guessing you're not getting any refund?
Oh I would contest it with whatever means I have to get my money back
gawd damn wtf
do a credit card chargeback
@@fuafielded It was for an early access key, you HAD to 'donate' to get one. Thats essentially a purchase.
They banned me too after they randomly re-appeared after a 2 year hiatus asking for MORE money for development. I told them they were fucking crazy for asking for money for a game that they had abandoned for 2 years with NO word at all to the community about wtf was going on.
Guys are a joke, hopefully the game is good though.
who cares right. even if it was... would or could you play it after this experience?
Yo bigfry, thx for keeping us updated on things like this man. Appreciate all the work you put into this.
All the feedback that you have given here is 110% correct BigFry. You and I both know personally we have been in the trenches with the development of Task Force. And the BS that we have seen in this game's development you can make a movie on. And to see how they advertise this game and talk down on community is beyond me. The person typing out this info on the steam page honestly sounds bitter and needs a hug. Great video as always buddy have a great evening. 💚
He can hug these cheeks with his lips, I 100% ain't gonna buy his shitty game and will sleep very well knowing I was part of the reason he'll never reach his "dream" that seems to be more of a current nightmare.
Holy shit it's Able Green!!! He's alive!
Abel speaking that good good ;)
Their Steam description was the “If we joke about how unfinished and bad it is, it’ll endear us to the public” attempt. Whenever I see somebody attempting that, I just groan and ignore the project.
I'd say it was worse than that. They were doing that but also adding in the arrogance that they think they deserve getting your money regardless of what the final product looks like because ultimately they only think of you as their personal money printer and if you aren't printing that money for them then fuck you.
I don't think this was a joke.
Their responses to the questions [on their store page] read like a MadTV parody skit. If this wasn't real, I'd think it's hilarious. This is crazy how unhinged & unprofessional they are (and upfront about it lol)
I would recommend reporting the steam store page for fraud.
More like Legal Violation is more appropriate because they are violating the EA ToS.
Just a reminder that a steam game ban is still a big issue.
After a game ban you can no longer upvote reviews for games, or vote on community content (like skins for CSGO)
Apparently they have zero self-awareness whatsoever, because they're already blaming other people for a failure yet to occur. The irony is, that store page, those things they've put out there for people to see, and apparently banning people critical of shady tactics - THAT is what is going to cause them to fail, because they are not going to sell a product to people when they're treating their would-be customers like crap, and blaming them for things they haven't even done.
If they spent as much time developing their game, and actually crowdfunding it, as they do complaining about public criticism, they'd have more to show than locked content and a rant-laden store page.
It's like they don't want anyone to actually play/buy their game, because they certainly market it as a joke
"It might stay in Early Access hell forever", or in other words, "we won't care after we've got your money."
Don’t be too upset about your age, Fry. Plenty of us are now feeling the same thing. With gaming only becoming truly “mainstream” around ~20 years ago (I personally view GTA3 as the game that moved it beyond that marker) and the games of that early 2000s era targeting those who were teens at the time, those of us who are now in our mid-30s comprise that huge demographic of gamers that were there at the forefront of modern gaming. (And I can’t believe PS2/OG Xbox are considered “retro” now, that’s… disgusting) 😆
Sneed.
mate, even Xbox 360 and PS3 are considered retro now
Well consider this - A car from 1997 can get a license plate that says antique vehicle on it. All it needs to be to qualify for that type of vanity plate (at least in my state) is to be 25 years old. Those consoles ain't that far off from it themselves with the PS2 coming in at 22 years old.
i'm in my early 20s so can't relate, but my PS2 was a huge part of my life for a long, long time... mind-boggling that it's over 20 FREAKING YEARS OLD
How is this even allowed on steam in the first place?? How the actual hell did this not get flagged immediately. Good God this is embarrassing
Socom was one of them games where I was barley old enough to know what I was doing. I think it was socom 1 where you had to meet some guy in some ruins then the next level you were on a ship in the ocean. Didn’t even know what I was doing but it really had an influence into what genre I would end up sticking with the rest of my life. Im only 20 so you can probably imagine my young 4 year old dumbass with no memory card only playing the first 3 levels over and over again daily🤣 I only Barely remember it. This video opened up a whole can of nostalgia and I rly appreciate it bro!
I was probably 10yrs old on socom2, I couldn't figure out how to get past the second level, I legitimately thought the 2nd level was the final level I couldn't beat it lol.
@@TheNotoriousNemo that must of been it bro the ship mission? I could never get past it my self I just used to pretend that the ship was my base and used to just chill🤣🤣🤣👌🏽
Looks like a pretty clear abuse of Steam's game ban policy.
we are getting old but at least we know what the best years of gaming was like
People need to stop calling themselves old, when they are not even close to being old. It is so frustrating. How "old" is he? Like 30? That is nothing
@@PhantomGardener what are you? 31? no need to worry about being old, dude.
I feel like this should be a huge problem with Valve giving these scummy devs this much power
Calling Task Force a steaming pile of canine feces would be a grave insult to steaming piles of canine feces. Thanks for keeping us updated on this crap and the crap that crap developers pull.
Jeeeessuuusss chriiiist. This isn’t honestly or even brutal honesty, it’s literally just pure fucking arrogance.
If you are a socom multiplayer OG, then you will know these phrases, "rush the donut room", "sniping the buttcrack" lol
@ChuckNasty I remember a dude back in Socom 2 whose tag was "M67 + PMN Mines" dude fuckin OWNED on Foxhunt and Desert Glory
SOCOM was my first ever shooter game when I was young (I was born 1992). I remember connecting my PS2 to the internet for the first time and playing PVP for the first time
that store page sounds like it was written by a child
Oh, it was. An egotistical child.
Their store page reminds me of the radio and TV ads in Grand Theft Auto V. 'I'm Jock Cranley, Vote for me. Those other politicians, don't give a fuck about you. I don't either, but at least i'm honest about it. So vote for me. At least you know what you're voting for.' That steam page could easily fit perfectly in the GTA Universe as a satirical view of indie game development.
Apparently they never heard the phrase "Some thoughts should stay thoughts."
"The next time you have a thought, let it go." XD
@@ChaosBahamut Or that
Holy shit! I haven't laughed this hard all day! Thanks for speaking out about dodgy devs who are ruining the indie game dev industry. I'm starting out as a game dev myself and guys like these need to be called out! Praise for the ones doing it right, and shame for the rest.
1. You can have workshop work with dedicated servers before release, space engineers is one example that did before release.
2. Its a simple shooter so it's not a hard thing to make. If it is a passion project than you can absolutely do it without much money at all.
Unity actually has templates for all the basic crap although i can't speak for unreal because all my experience is with unity.
classic. the task force hole dug even deeper by the developers.
I posted a comment on Steam that they were 'man babies.' Ten minutes later I got notified that I was banned!
Bigfry, I've been following you for quite some time. Every once in awhile, it feels like a project comes along where I think to myself; "THIS has to be the THE project that embodies everything wrong with indie Early Access development". And I gotta say: these developers have set the bar as high (er, well low) as humanly possible not just for Early Access but just common sense PR. It's like this blog post was written by an 18 year old doomer who took an online course on PR and then just threw out the book after a heated night in the community Discord.
"We have no desire to involve anyone in anything. Just leave the hell alone so the job of making video games is actually fun" is just a terrible mindset. The second you go public; your game and your studios practices are open to criticism. This goes doubly so when you start charging people money especially when you're arbitrarily banning people for no reason. Yes, you can't please all the people all the time but a multiplayer game needs a community and a game studio needs support to maintain development & pay its developers (and contractors who you spoke about hiring). It feels like this studio was being so fatalistic about the state of independent games development, they didn't take the time to learn from the mistakes of other fallen studios let alone get a clue from their community.
I've never played SOCOM but its fans can get a spiritual successor with or without Task Force. Its up to the developers if they want to be apart of the community when that day comes as an ally or as a scornful memory of those who they wronged with their practices as a studio.
It feels like a Valve employee interviewed the creator on discord and the dude had no idea he was taking notes and making that their store page description. Like seriously you don't need to be a market expert to see how horrible that game description is. It's quite literally something you'd see on a free-mod page.
Why not go on Steam and report their early access game that goes against the term of services of it regarding the description they put?
@BigFryTV even implied that they are not allow to use early access for that purpose.
damn new record, I was banned by them in less then 30 seconds after posting your video as a response to someone who did not get their access key way back from 2020 lol
I saw this, went on steam to their forums, said the game looks like an asset flip and I was permanently banned within an hour, lol
"Great selling point! What the fuck?" absolutely KILLED me lmfao, thanks for that.
Man i loved SOCOM back in the day, these devs are trying to ruin the good name of SOCOM.
That steam description for the Early Access section might be one of the worst I have ever heard lmao.
All this Socom talk got me a bit teary man...
Kind of a flex to have a game ban just because you made a dev mad
This developer appears to have ZERO confidence in their own game ☠
I had literal thousands of hours played in socom series on PS2. At one point even ranked top 100. It’s all I played. Fun times. I’ve nowhere near pinnacled that high on any other game.
The later portion of the store page reminds me of those satirically rude restaurants. 😄 🤣
"Just leave us the hell alone" I wasn't looking at the screen as you read that and thought it was commentary... Jeez, how could devs even think putting this in the store page would be a good idea
The biggest red flag of a giant narcissist I've ever seen. Wow, he tries to gaslight the community while also saying the game is utter crap.
This store page is so damn bad is almost seems like a weird troll, like wtf is this? Keep up the weird, yet oddly entertaining content BigFry..Lowkey one of the best channel on YT these days.
That Steam page read like a letter of intent to take the money and run, with a bunch of excuses for why they think that's okay. Holy hell.
When you turned around and asked “where have you been”😂😂
0:20 Didnt realize any of that except the last bit
I love how they updated the early access description to look better and the highest player count the game has had so far is 200 according to steam charts.
You are seriously the voice of the people. Your no filter, and total honesty in todays runny shit storm of game development is whats needed. Thank you for always taking charge and trying to put a stop to this garbage.
You could probably just report them to steam and get the game removed before it's technically released
SOCOM 3 was my childhood game man, i'd come home from school and play that for hours, but never beat the game because i was a kid and had no idea what I was doing
After watching this video I went on their steam forum and voiced my opinion/concern, and got permanently banned.
Same here I was ban within 24 hours with no reason stated why I was banned dudes are obviously butt hurt
saw the comments about the store page and thought it can't be thaaat bad, but holy hell the dev really hurt themselves in confusion when answering the early access questions.
With Redlines history, I'm assuming that with the first negative review on steam, the game, the servers and him all disappear back to his moms basement to pout and ponder why nobody on the planet appreciates his genius.
I didn't even know it was possible to ban someone from a single specific game on steam. Never seen it happen before
Hey bigfry✌️ just ordered one of your new super awesome PTFO desk mats for my first pc gaming setup! I love everything ya do for the gaming community and just wanted to thank you and show my support to you for wat ya do!! 💥🤘💥
That store page is just wow. "We need money, so buy the game that we probably wont finish, then shut up and leave us alone."
Cant wait to play and cover your upcoming games, especially a possible Socom like Game in the Future! Keep the Work💪
Didnt realize how many crappy Socom rip offs were on steam
Many of them did that nowadays, they even take their time to ban ordinary users(not even an influencer) who just voicing their negative opinion in the discussion board. Then whine they have so little time developing the game while busy reading and banning people who posted negative feedbacks, then proceed to make a thesis explaining that the player is so toxic... smh.
*“Guys! Come buy our game that has a 50/50 chance of ever escaping early access. Also, don’t bother trying to help. In fact, keep 6ft away from us, but get close enough to where we can take your money. If you speak out against us, we’ll ban you for having a different ego than us!”*
How to kill your project in 2022, have an ego backed by a shit ton of arrogance.
Good job Fry
Their entire early access statement is essentially "Buy this game on its promise but dont bother us about feedback."
yo Bigfry just thought to let you know that their is a really cool new game being developed by one guy based on war of the worlds hes got a YT channel and consistently post's videos for new things and updates hes added the game honestly looks really amazing and i think it deserves a lot more attention!
As all of my elders keep telling me, Fry. Wait till you’re my age. You’re a young gun and a breath of fresh air. I like people who aren’t bought and paid for.
I played with Redline years ago, sounded like a know it all. They also disabled my game key, thanks Tracer Interactive!
Maybe these guys should get real jobs and use part of their income to fund development themselves instead of screeching at would-be customers on Steam about how those potential customers "owe it to them to fund their dream".
seriously, the utter f cking gall of these people "if you dont buy our half assed game that we *chose* to put out in a half assed state and try to promise to make it better BUT ONLY IF PEOPLE BUY IT, cuz we broke as f ck, its YOUR fault the game is half assed" like just...hand over your game dev cards, they dont deserve them...actually no, even thats too generous for them, they're not allowed to be anywhere with a 10 mile radius of a game dev card or anyone in possession of one
That store page is so bad that I struggle to believe it isn't a joke.
I don't know if I've seen anything more sad in my life. Rip SOCOM
That steam description, had me thinking "That can't be real, it has to be a parody description or something". But it is very much real, and is just utterly bizarre. We've heard of dodgy developers, but these lot are on another level with that i tell you.
10/10 for their honesty
1/10 development ability outside of ripping
“If you think you can do it better go ahead” you know what I might fucking do it lmao
"Just think how shitty you'd feel about yourself if you did that to us".
Well considering they have openly shit talked any and all potential future customers before they are even a customer, I would say not a single person would give a rats arse toss about not funding this. Maybe if they wanted people to have a smidge of sympathy, they shouldn't openly berate them before begging for money.
You misunderstand. They aren't begging for money. They are demanding that you give them the money they clearly deserve to take from you because of who they think they are. They are basically the game dev version of Ana Kasparian.
They don’t know they could sell merchandise or even Micro transactions
That store page is designed to deflect criticism at every turn but only manages to invite more criticism. That's a special kind of incompetence.
Join the party. Icarus devs banned me from steam forums, discord, and twitter for addressing player concerns with the following constructive criticism. "So many things need to be fixed or over hauled and instead we get more mechanics tacked on to a game loop that just isn't entertaining. And yet another week with no word to whether it's even in works or where they are with it. So we are left to assume this is what we get. A boring game that is far from what was advertised and sold to us." So very unprofessional.
H-Hour devs randomly gave me a key and it was... eh...
The audacity!
That Steam page is so unbelievably absurd that it could be mistaken for satire…
Still remember screwing in the network adaptor on my PS2 with a quarter and going online on Socom for the first time.
That is such a low-blow from the developers that they are asset flipping the game, and when they get called out, those people get banned. Screw the developers of "Task Force".
Not gonna lie... I thought the steam store page quotes was Bigfry just f*cking with us. The fact its real, is just bananas.
SOCOM will forever be my first love. It's the dragon I chase every time I play a new third person shooter. The fact that they point their fingers at the people who have yet to give them money is all I need to know. They don't know what the word accountability means. I can't back anyone who displays that kind of behavior. I put the game on my ignore list.
One of my early online gaming memories was playing socom 2 and doing ninja jumping to get to funny places and my friend teaching me how to make a lag switch and showing me how it works, I had never seen that side of gaming before and it was wild to me
Wow. Guess honesty is *NOT* the best policy.
They need to give this game a subtitle
Task Force: Self-fulfilling Prophecy
it's like going to the restaurant and the people there telling you they need enough people to order first before they can go hire the chef and buy the ingredients, if there isn't enough people who ordered well you don't get to eat, and if you they can't feed you it's your fault.
Just got a dead island 2 advert before this video. 😀
I thought that game had been all but abandoned, but the ad says it’s out on February 3rd 2023.
Can’t wait and it was actually an ad I watched without pressing skip 😂😂
I got banned from the Case: Animatronics 2 forums for a few months once for making a review of how horrible the games launch state was. Cracks me up to this day.
Isn't a part of steams TOS that you can't use early access to fund the game? Like how is this page allowed to get away with outright stating a violation in the description!?
Did you not watch the video?
Bigfryyy.. The Dev Punisher... xDDDDD Keep it going Bigfry! Woop Woop
I really hope to see a good SOCOM game at some point.
As long as kids are eating up the shit warzone is giving out. It won't happen. And especially now since Extraction games are becoming a big thing
@@VAL3NTIN3 unfortunately I agree, but if it was made, most of the player base would be us, and not so much the younger generation IMO. But either way I preferred SOCOM as the campaign anyway. I liked telling my teammates where to go and how to approach, and have them listen. That was great.
Something tells me the reason why they don't have good artists is not because of money. Can you even imagine trying to work for someone like this?
I got banned off the community hub by sending this response:
You’re using EA as a crowd funding platform literally telling people to ‘invest’ so you can fulfil your dream of becoming a developer and if people don’t buy in then they’re ruining that dream.
There’s a huge difference between being transparent and open and what you’ve written down via the EA section. It screams ‘support us and give us your money’ but also comes across as condescending and that you literally don’t care what happens to the project.
Part of being a game developer and being in EA is the feedback process and clearly you guys aren’t equipped to handle that otherwise you wouldn’t have written what you have.
With your attitude no one is going to back this project regardless of you ‘changing’ the wording because the original version is now out there for the world to see. Why would anyone want to support a developer that literally says the game may be in EA hell forever and that they don’t want any communicate involvement?
Going back to using EA as a crowdfunding platform, under the section of ‘What EA is NOT’ the first thing is says is not release products that you have no intention of finishing, do not have funds to continue development etc and yet here you are breaking that rule.
Suppose I shouldn’t be surprised considering this is coming from a team who ripped original maps from Socom and hide them behind a server paywall.
Instantly banned with no ban reason. Lol the dude is an absolute joke. Reported their steam page for fraud.
